An important research challenge that needs to be address in the area of intelligent systems is the development of new, innovative and original methods, algorithms and implementations of systems with a high level of intelligent; that is, with a high level of flexibility and autonomy. This intelligence needs to be developed by understanding the environment in which these systems operate. However, these environments could be non-stationary, unpredictably changing and partially or completely unknown. For this reason, in order to develop an intelligent system - able to face with problems such as modeling, control, prediction, classification or data mining - in such environments, they need to be able to evolve, to self-develop, to self-organize, to self-evaluate and to self-improve. This paper is concerned with the problems of H-two filtering for discrete-time Markovian jump linear systems subject to logarithmic quantization. We assume that only the output of the system is available, and therefore the mode information is nonaccessible. In this paper, a mode-independent quantized H-two filter is designed such that filter error system is stochastically stable. To this end, sufficient conditions for the existence of an upper bound of H-two norm are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Considering uncertainty of system matrices, a robust H-two filter is designed. The proposed method is also applicable to cover the case where the transition probability matrix is not exactly known but belongs to a given polytope. Finally, numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract The global robust output regulation problem for nonlinear plants subject to nonlinear exosystems has been a challenging problem and has not been well addressed. The main difficulty lies in finding a suitable internal model. In this paper, we first propose a new class of internal models which is guaranteed to exist under the generalized immersion condition [2]. An advantage of this internal model is that it is zero input globally asymptotically stable. This fact will facilitate the global stabilization of the augmented system associated with the given plant and the internal model. Then we will further utilize this class of internal models to solve the global robust output regulation problem for output feedback systems with a nonlinear exosystem.
