Numerous researches emphasized that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) plays a vital factor in various biological processes, and its mismatched expression and dysfunction are tightly linked with the occurrence of human diseases. Thus, computational models were designed to identify lncRNA-disease interactions by merging heterogeneous biological data. However, most of them neglected the intrinsic structure of multi-source information, which limits the performance for potential lncRNA-disease association prediction. Here, GCN-NIMC is introduced to alleviate the dilemma for disease-associated lncRNA genes identification based on the graph convolutional network with neural inductive matrix. This method builds a feature matrix with multi-source heterogeneous data and then learn the various information contained in the feature matrix for the sake of acquiring better feature expressions of the lncRNA-disease interactions. Experimental results on 10-repeated 5-fold cross-validation demonstrated that our proposed GCN-NIMC is superior to existing cutting-edge methods for identifying disease-related lncRNA genes. Furthermore, case studies confirmed our computational method as a practical tool with clinical benefits to develop the therapeutic schedule at lncRNA-level. © 2023 IEEE.

Modern methods of remote sensing data processing require preliminary knowledge of the coordinates of objects or their manual selection. This study proposes a new approach that allows automatic and rapid detection of large-scale objects in satellite images, which creates the basis for their subsequent detailed analysis. The developed algorithm is based on key principles, the use of adaptive structural features similar to Haar wavelets, the application of cascade classification with a modified Adaboost algorithm, optimization of computational processes due to a three-level filtering system. Forest areas with areas of cut trees are considered as a test example. To improve the accuracy of recognition, automatic calibration of object sizes and dynamic adaptation of scanning parameters were used. The choice of the optimal processing method is based on a comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of the original image. The results obtained open up new opportunities for automated monitoring of territories and analysis of changes.

Conventional power systems have been evolving towards prospective smart grids in recent decades as market needs have changed and independent innovations, such as the 'Internet of Things' (IoT), have developed. The further automation of traditional development of industrial operations with a variety of current advanced techniques is termed as Industry 4.0. The most efficient strategy to boost the productivity of the enterprise environment, such as smart grids, is to use contemporary control technology that regulates and supervises interaction between smart devices. Furthermore, the advancement of loT -enabled smart meters is aided by a separate data connection, such as 'Bluetooth' or the 'Global System for Mobiles' (GSM), for remotely inspecting and operating smart meters. In this context, SPSS software is used for analysing the role of Industry 4.0 based Machine Learning or ML in analysing Smart Meters and MANOV A (and correlation) approach is considered to get proper result. This study proposes a machine learning-based architecture for analysing and monitoring smart meter data. The advantages of loT integration into Industry 4.0 include the ability to exchange actual information across a wide range of smart meters for various applications, such as factories, hospitals and residences, which is critical for smart grids. Results suggested that Smart Grid is beneficial to the extent of reducing electricity cost;however, maintenance cost and security issues are the major challenging factors in the new technology. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents a passivity-based control approach for four-switch buck-boost (FSBB) DC-DC converters. The state variables are selected as the inductor current and the capacitor voltage errors. The passivity based control is formulated that targets to drive the inductor current and capacitor voltage to their reference values. The reference of the inductor current is produced by a proportional-integral controller that operates on the capacitor voltage error. Two control input equations are defined for buck and boost operations due to the fact that FSBB converter contains separate switches for buck and boost stages. As a consequence of controlling each stage by the dedicated control input, the passivity based control method eliminates the need for using a mode detection algorithm. The validity and superiority of the proposed approach has been studied by Matlab/Simulink simulations under load step, reference voltage step and operation mode variations for buck and boost modes. The results reveal that the proposed control approach can regulate the output voltage under all cases. © 2022 IEEE.

The flying ad-hoc network (FANET) technology-based secure routing protocol described in this study functions between a ground station and a UAV network. This protocol employs a hybrid authentication technique to guarantee communication dependability. The system is based on an asymmetric method that ensures secure connections between the UAV and the ground control station, as well as between the UAVs themselves. A symmetric scheme with digital signatures is used to encrypt the routing. Before joining the network, the UAV must register. During the registration process, the Key Distribution Center provides the necessary public and private keys for each node that wants to connect. Furthermore, crucial routing data is safeguarded using the TWINE algorithm. Wormhole attacks are avoided by using the packet binding method. Even in the event of an aggressor attack, simulations show that this routing system can sustain effective network functioning, ensuring a high packet delivery ratio and optimal network costs. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper provides a comprehensive comparative analysis of the performance of four bioinspired algorithms (Differential Evolution, Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm, Moth-flame Optimization, and Particle Swarm Optimization) in designing a flatness-based controller for a ball and beam system simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The assessment involves the tuning of feedback gains utilizing four distinct fitness functions: Integral Square Error, Integral Absolute Error, Integral Time Absolute Error, and an ad-hoc cost function. Hypothesis tests are employed to choose the optimal controllers from each combination for every bioinspired algorithm and a fitness function. Subsequently, a control performance analysis of these controllers for the ball and beam system is conducted, focusing on critical parameters such as overshoot, settling time, and steady-state error. This analysis demonstrates that all the controllers achieve a zero steady-state error. Noteworthy is the flatness-based controller tuned with the bioinspired Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm and utilizing the Integral Time Absolute Error fitness function, which stands out for achieving the fastest response with the lowest overshoot. This particular controller emerges as the most recommended choice for the specified application.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are essential for monitoring operational environments. Efficient selection of cluster heads is crucial in minimizing energy consumption. This study introduces an innovative model for determining the positions of cluster heads in a WSN, using the residual energy of each sensor node as a selection metric. The sensor incorporates a neural network model that has been trained using different significant models to determine the best location for the cluster head. Our model is compared with the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) algorithm to showcase its effectiveness, particularly in mobile node scenarios. We employ a feed-forward multilayer network, specifically Multilayer Perceptrons (MLPs), as the neural network technique. The proposed method comprises two stages: the training stage, where the neural network is trained with appropriate models, and the execution stage, where the trained network suggests the cluster head's location based on the sensor's conditions. The results demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately identify suitable locations for cluster heads in a sensor network and is capable of adapting to new models despite environmental changes and variations in input configurations. © 2024 The Authors

Recently, the demand for portable electronics and embedded systems has increased. These devices need low-power circuit designs because they depend on batteries as an energy resource. Moreover, Multi-Valued Logic (MVL) circuits provide notable improvements over binary circuits in terms of interconnect complexity, chip area, propagation delay, and energy consumption. Therefore, this thesis proposes novel ternary circuits aiming to reduce the energy (Power Delay Product (PDP)) to preserve battery consumption. The proposed designs include eight ternary logic gates, three ternary combinational circuits, and six Ternary Arithmetic Logic Units (TALU). The ternary logic gates are seven unary operators of the ternary system (A1, A2, Ā2, A1, 1.Ān, 1.Āp, and the Standard Ternary Inverter (STI) Ā), and Ternary NAND based on Carbon Nanotube Field-Effect Transistor (CNFET). Ternary combinational circuits, two different designs for Ternary Decoders (TDecoder) and Ternary Multiplexer (TMUX): (1) TDecoder1 using CNFET-based proposed unary operators and TDecoder2 using Double-Pass Logic (DPL) binary gates. (2) TMUX using CNFET-based proposed unary operators. And Ternary Arithmetic Logic Units are three different designs for Ternary Half-Adders (THA) and Ternary Multipliers (TMUL): (1) The first design uses the proposed TDecoder1, STI, and TNAND. (2) While the second design uses the cascading proposed TMUX. (3) As for the third design, it uses the proposed unary operators and TMUX. This thesis applies the best trade-off between reducing the number of used transistors, utilizing energy-efficient transistor arrangement such as transmission gate and applying the dual supply voltages (Vdd, and Vdd/2) to achieve its objective. The proposed designs are compared to the latest ternary circuits using the HSPICE simulator for different supply voltages, different temperatures, and different frequencies. Database accessibility can be challenging for users without technical expertise, particularly when generating SQL queries to retrieve information. This study addresses this gap by developing an OpenAI-powered system designed to automate SQL command generation, enabling non-expert users to interact with databases using natural language. Implemented as a web application, the system was evaluated by expert users, assessing both performance in query accuracy and user satisfaction. Results indicate high usability and satisfaction scores, with the system effectively enhancing accessibility to database functions, thus providing a user-friendly solution for database management. © 2025 IEEE.

Inductive wireless power transfer charging for electric vehicles encounters a significant challenge due to heightened common-mode current, impacting safety and electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions. This study introduces an innovative inverter topology tailored specifically for inductive wireless power transfer charging. The novel topology aims to lower common-mode voltage while entirely eliminating common-mode current generation. By incorporating an extra capacitor and discrete diode, the proposed inverter topology maintains an equivalent number of power switches as the conventional H-bridge inverter. Utilizing theoretical analysis, simulation and experiments, the study comprehensively compares the proposed inverter with the established traditional inductive charging system. Evaluation factors encompass functionality, common-mode voltage and current behavior, power losses, and overall efficiency. The results unequivocally showcase the benefits of the proposed inverter. Notably, it successfully suppresses common-mode current, thereby enhancing safety and reducing EMI emissions. Additionally, the proposed topology demonstrates heightened efficiency compared to the traditional inverter. In sum, these findings underscore the significant advantages of the suggested inverter, highlighting its potential to mitigate common-mode current challenges and elevate operational efficiency.
