The segmentation and automatic identification of histological regions of diagnostic interest offer a valuable aid to pathologists. However, segmentation methods are hampered by the difficulty of obtaining pixel-level annotations, which are tedious and expensive to obtain for Whole-Slide images (WSI). To remedy this, weakly supervised methods have been developed to exploit the annotations directly available at the image level. However, to our knowledge, none of these techniques is adapted to deal with WSIs. In this paper, we propose WHOLESIGHT, a weakly-supervised method, to simultaneously segment and classify WSIs of arbitrary shapes and sizes. Formally, WHOLESIGHT first constructs a tissue-graph representation of the WSI, where the nodes and edges depict tissue regions and their interactions, respectively. During training, a graph classification head classifies the WSI and produces node-level pseudo labels via post-hoc feature attribution. These pseudo labels are then used to train a node classification head for WSI segmentation. During testing, both heads simultaneously render class prediction and segmentation for an input WSI. We evaluated WHOLESIGHT on three public prostate cancer WSI datasets. Our method achieved state-of-the-art weakly-supervised segmentation performance on all datasets while resulting in better or comparable classification with respect to state-of-the-art weakly-supervised WSI classification methods. Additionally, we quantify the generalization capability of our method in terms of segmentation and classification performance, uncertainty estimation, and model calibration. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

This study improves a classifier of the support vector machine (SVM) by optimizing its parameters by adjusting cockroach swarm optimization (CSO). Classification system design includes data inputs, pre-process, and classification. The relief technique selects the feature subset, and the kernel parameters used as input for the system. The feature selection and classification of data sets were figured out by the combination of ICSO and SVM with its optimized parameters synchronous. Simulation results of the proposed scheme are compared with other systems, e.g., GA-SVM, PSO-SVM, and CSO-SVM, which show that the proposed project can achieve better classification accuracy than the different algorithms. It is promising that the proposed scheme can be applied to high-dimensional data classification, such as image classification, signal classification. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2021.

The combination of visual and textual information in image retrieval remarkably alleviates the semantic gap of traditional image retrieval methods,and thus it has attracted much attention *** retrieval based on such a combination is usually called the content-and-text based image retrieval(CTBIR).Nevertheless,existing studies in CTBIR mainly make efforts on improving the retrieval *** the best of our knowledge,little attention has been focused on how to enhance the retrieval ***,image data is widespread and expanding rapidly in our daily ***,it is important and interesting to investigate the retrieval *** this end,this paper presents an efficient image retrieval method named CATIRI(content-and-text based image retrieval using indexing).CATIRI follows a three-phase solution framework that develops a new indexing structure called *** MHIM-tree seamlessly integrates several elements including Manhattan Hashing,Inverted index,and *** use our MHIM-tree wisely in the query,we present a set of important metrics and reveal their inherent *** on them,we develop a top-k query algorithm for *** results based on benchmark image datasets demonstrate that CATIRI outperforms the competitors by an order of magnitude.

Authentication and key agreement schemes in smart grid have received much attentions by researchers in recent years. Recently, Mahmood et al. proposed a secure pairing-based anonymous key exchange scheme in smart grid. However, we demonstrate that their scheme is insecure against an ephemeral secret leakage attack and an impersonation attack according to the Canetti-Krawczyk adversarial model in this paper. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Nowadays, there is a very popular artificial intelligence algorithm called whale optimization algorithm (WOA). WOA is obtained through the special bubble net foraging process of humpback whales. It has a special search mechanism, and is very helpful to solve some complex optimization problems and large scale. An improved WOA is implemented to optimize the cascade reservoir power generation. Firstly, by introducing nonlinear time-varying adaptive weights, the WOA performance in the local optimization and global exploration stages is improved;secondly, the differential mutation perturbation factor is introduced in the shrinking and surrounding stage of the whale algorithm to prevent premature convergence. In addition, the logarithmic spiral search method of whale individuals has been improved so that the ability to solve the algorithm traversal can be found. Experimental results show that it has a great improvement in accuracy and convergence compared with the original WOA in the optimal dispatch model of cascade reservoir power generation. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Multiple electric vehicles simultaneously connected to a distribution load network will significantly impact the stability of the power grid. This paper proposes an improved Honey-badger algorithm (IHBA) through elite reverse learning, spiral update, and wild dog survival strategies to optimize the orderly charging of electric vehicles (EV). Objective functions of EV charge orderly planning are taken by using load fluctuation satisfaction, user cost satisfaction, and user convenience satisfaction to achieve the high efficiency of orderly charging. The benchmark test function and the electric vehicle se-quential charging problem were employed to evaluate the proposed IHBA approach. The obtained results are compared with the other algorithms in the literature, which indicate that the IHBA algorithm does not only provides more accurate outcome but better con-vergence speed than the other competitors. © 2022;Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. Metaheuristic algorithms have been applied widely for real-world problems in many fields, e.g., engineering, financial, healthcare. Bats algorithm (BA) is a recent metaheuristic algorithm with considering as a robust optimization method that can outperform existing algorithms. However, when dealing with complicated combinatorial problems such as traveling salesman problems (TSP), the BA can be fallen in a local optimum. This paper proposes a new hybridizing Parallel BA (HPBA) with a mutation in local-search to escape such its drawback scenario for TSP. A graph theory mutation method is used to embed for hybridizing BA with exploiting similarities among individuals. The proposed method is extensively evaluated in TSP with series instances of the benchmark from TSPLIB to test its performance. The compared experimental result with the previous method and the best-known solutions (B.K.S) in the literature shows that the proposed approach offers competitive results. © 2020 - IOS Press and the authors. Feasibility of a Tele-Assisted Home Exercise Program for Balance and Functional Mobility in Persons With Parkinson’s Disease (TELEPORT-PD)

Introduction: Telerehabilitation can enhance delivery and acceptance of the home exercise program. This study evaluated the feasibility, safety, and signal of efficacy of a tele-assisted home exercise program for improving balance and functional mobility in persons with Parkinson’s disease (TELEPORT-PD). Methods: Eight participants underwent six sessions of physiotherapist-supervised and tailored multimodal exercise over smartphone videoconference through WhatsApp Messenger over 2 weeks. Feasibility was assessed through adherence and retention rates, and safety was assessed through self-reported adverse events. Balance was measured using the Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and Activity-specific Balance Confidence (ABC) scale, while functional mobility was assessed using Timed-Up-and-Go (TUG) test and 5-times Sit-To-Stand (5STS) test, at baseline and at the end of 2 weeks. Results: The adherence and retention rates were 100%, and no serious adverse events were reported. Significant improvements were noted in the change scores of BBS (11.23 points; p = 0.014), ABC (14.21%; p = 0.014), TUG (-2.21 s; p = 0.007), and 5STS (-3.11 s; p = 0.007). All participants provided positive feedback and expressed their interest to continue the program. Conclusion: TELEPORT-PD appears to be feasible, safe, and acceptable, while demonstrating improvements in balance and functional mobility.
