The research addresses the critical issue of detecting anomalies in autonomous in-vehicle network communication, focusing on the vulnerability of infotainment systems to denial-of-service attacks. The aim is to explore and compare traditional Machine Learning (ML) and advanced Deep Learning (DL) models for the detection of DoS attacks within Controller Area Network (CAN) communications. By evaluating the performance of various ML and DL algorithms, including Decision Tree, Logistic Regression, RandomForest, Feed Forward Neural Networks, and LSTM architectures, the study aims to enhance intrusion detection capabilities in vehicular communication systems. The significance of the research lies in identifying the advantages of DL methods in capturing complex patterns and temporal dependencies within the CAN network, thus contributing to fortifying the security of automotive networks against evolving threats. The results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed models in detecting and mitigating DoS attacks, with DL methods showing promise in automatic learning and adaptability to intricate network structures. This study provides valuable insights for future research endeavors aimed at enhancing the cybersecurity of autonomous vehicles. © 2024 IEEE.

Finding the transcription factor binding locations using novel algorithm segmentation to filtration (S2F)

The primary aim of identifying the binding motifs in gene regulation is to understand the transcriptional regulation molecular mechanism systematically. In this study, the (, d) motif search issue was considered which entails finding the length motifs which differ by at most d substitutions. However, identifying the high-quality pattern (, d) is challenging. It is intended to address the above problem with motif discovery and handle it using the proposed algorithm S2F (Segmentation to Filtration) based on the qPMS (quorum Planted Motif Search) algorithm model. From the entire DNA sequences, five percent are chosen at random to be used in the motif discovery process. This random sub segment (subseg) portion is split up into base, sub k-mers, and its sizes (motif length ()) are determined by the iterative approach. Corresponding to the sizes of and d (mutations), the k-mers are chosen which participated in filtration techniques and the base k-mer count and frequency are updated. The highest frequency of k-mer is recognized as the motif. The algorithm’s performance was evaluated using the two real datasets Escherichia coli cyclic AMP receptor protein (CRP) and mouse Embryonic Stem Cell (mESC) ChIP-seq (Chromatin Immuno Precipitation) dataset. Results from the experiments show that S2F can identify the motifs and appear faster compared to previous state-of-the-art PMS (Planted Motif Search) and qPMS algorithms. Secure communication in consumer electronic devices, such as health monitoring systems, is essential as they process sensitive medical data. This paper proposes a Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Signcryption with Equality Test (CP-ABSC-ET) scheme to address these security challenges. The scheme controls who can access data and ensures both encryption and signature verification are done together, keeping the data secure. The integration of equality test enables secure ciphertext verification without decryption, ensuring both data integrity and confidentiality. Compared to existing schemes, the proposed approach reduces the computational overhead. Comprehensive security analysis and performance evaluations demonstrate the scheme’s suitability for dynamic and resource-constrained environments. The CP-ABSC-ET scheme ensures strong data protection, better access control, and efficient communication, making it ideal for consumer electronics like health monitoring devices. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

LP norm regularized deep CNN classifier based on biwolf optimization for mitosis detection in histopathology images

Mitosis detection, a crucial biomedical process, faces challenges like cell morphology variability, poor contrast, overcrowding, and limited annotated dataset availability. This research presents a novel method for mitosis detection in histopathological images highlighting two important contributions using a Bi-wolf optimization-based LP norm regularized deep Convolutional neural network (CNN) model. This hybrid optimization protocol is the key to the precise calibration of model parameters and effective training, which translates into optimal classifier performance. The results reveal that this model achieves high accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity values of 96.69%, 91.89%, and 97.74% respectively. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer applications and Management 2024.

Unstructured grid data are essential for modelling complex geometries and dynamics in computational physics. Yet, their inherent irregularity presents significant challenges for conventional machine learning (ML) techniques. This paper provides a comprehensive review of advanced ML methodologies designed to handle unstructured grid data in high-dimensional dynamical systems. Key approaches discussed include graph neural networks, transformer models with spatial attention mechanisms, interpolation-integrated ML methods, and meshless techniques such as physics-informed neural networks. These methodologies have proven effective across diverse fields, including fluid dynamics and environmental simulations. This review is intended as a guidebook for computational scientists seeking to apply ML approaches to unstructured grid data in their domains, as well as for ML researchers looking to address challenges in computational physics. It places special focus on how ML methods can overcome the inherent limitations of traditional numerical techniques and, conversely, how insights from computational physics can inform ML development. For this purpose, we mainly focus in this review on recent papers from the past decade that reflect strong interactions between computational physics and deep learning methods. To support benchmarking, this review also provides a summary of open-access datasets of unstructured grid data in computational physics. Finally, emerging directions such as generative models with unstructured data, reinforcement learning for mesh generation, and hybrid physics-data-driven paradigms are discussed to inspire future advancements in this evolving field. © 2025

Optimized Extreme Learning Machine with Bacterial Colony Optimization Algorithm for Disease Diagnosis in Clinical datasets

Currently, the computational disease diagnostic models are mainly for approximating the non-linear complex sensitive patterns in the medical data. For the most accurate diagnostic, it is to be processed by more sophisticated algorithms. The clinical data is obtained from various clinical tests conducted on both infected and healthy individuals. It is crucial to precisely identify the presence of sickness to provide treatment promptly. Disease detection models must accurately differentiate between true positive and negative outcomes. Manual interpretations may result in either false positives or false negatives. This study aims to create a universal framework for diagnosing diseases on clinical datasets. For this scenario, the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) is combined with the Bacterial Colony Optimization (BCO) method to boost prediction accuracy and speed up global convergence. For efficient selection of the extreme learning machine model’s optimal weights and biases, it is recommended to use the BCO algorithm's neighborhood-based communication strategy. Eight different UCI medical datasets are used to analyze the performance of the developed optimized ELM method. The experimental results showed that the suggested BCO-ELM outperformed in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision, f-measure, ROC-AUC, convergence speed. It obtained approximately 5 to 10 percent maximal accuracy and f-measure than the existing traditional approaches and obtained an AUC of 0.9 to 1 on all datasets. The experimental results confirmed that the developed approach produced high classification accuracy when compared with other existing approaches. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

With Covid19 being endemic, it is very essential to continue proper physical hygiene protocols even today to avoid escalation. To ensure hygiene inside educational institutions, many governing bodies-imposed protocols to insist students wear hand gloves and facemasks. Such an implementation, however, has increased surgical waste in and around educational institutions, and also there is a rise in allergies due to the constant use of hand gloves by the students. Hence, a prototype of a hand sanitization-based attendance monitoring system has been proposed in the current research paper. This proposed sanitizer with attendance through remote monitoring (SWARM) uses Raspberry Pi devices to capture the image of a student's identity card holding the registration number and through a bar code analysis module of computer vision, the ID number is extracted. This ID number is compared with a master attendance file to mark the students' presence and then the updated file is shared with the concerned teacher via email. Such a setup is installed in the laboratory premise, thereby reducing the unnecessary use and disposal of surgical waste within the educational premise. © 2022 IEEE.

The combination of visual and textual information in image retrieval remarkably alleviates the semantic gap of traditional image retrieval methods,and thus it has attracted much attention *** retrieval based on such a combination is usually called the content-and-text based image retrieval(CTBIR).Nevertheless,existing studies in CTBIR mainly make efforts on improving the retrieval *** the best of our knowledge,little attention has been focused on how to enhance the retrieval ***,image data is widespread and expanding rapidly in our daily ***,it is important and interesting to investigate the retrieval *** this end,this paper presents an efficient image retrieval method named CATIRI(content-and-text based image retrieval using indexing).CATIRI follows a three-phase solution framework that develops a new indexing structure called *** MHIM-tree seamlessly integrates several elements including Manhattan Hashing,Inverted index,and *** use our MHIM-tree wisely in the query,we present a set of important metrics and reveal their inherent *** on them,we develop a top-k query algorithm for *** results based on benchmark image datasets demonstrate that CATIRI outperforms the competitors by an order of magnitude.

Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming the technical setting ofconventional systems and finds applicability in smart cities, smart healthcare, smart industry, etc. In addition, the application areas relating to theIoT enabled models are resource-limited and necessitate crisp responses, lowlatencies, and high bandwidth, which are beyond their abilities. Cloud computing (CC) is treated as a resource-rich solution to the above mentionedchallenges. But the intrinsic high latency of CC makes it nonviable. The longerlatency degrades the outcome of IoT based smart systems. CC is an emergentdispersed, inexpensive computing pattern with massive assembly of heterogeneous autonomous systems. The effective use of task scheduling minimizes theenergy utilization of the cloud infrastructure and rises the income of serviceproviders by the minimization of the processing time of the user job. Withthis motivation, this paper presents an intelligent Chaotic Artificial ImmuneOptimization Algorithm for Task Scheduling (CAIOA-RS) in IoT enabledcloud environment. The proposed CAIOA-RS algorithm solves the issue ofresource allocation in the IoT enabled cloud environment. It also satisfiesthe makespan by carrying out the optimum task scheduling process with thedistinct strategies of incoming tasks. The design of CAIOA-RS techniqueincorporates the concept of chaotic maps into the conventional AIOA toenhance its performance. A series of experiments were carried out on theCloudSim platform. The simulation results demonstrate that the CAIOA-RStechnique indicates that the proposed model outperforms the original version,as well as other heuristics and metaheuristics.

The world's main grain crop is rice (Oryza sativa). It provides the majority of the world's population with nourishment and energy. Numerous rice leaf diseases are a major threat to the world's agricultural output because they deteriorate crop quality in addition to lowering crop yield. Traditional methods of classifying and managing diseases mostly rely on laborious and subjective manual examination procedures. However, recent advancements in computer vision methods have made it possible to construct automated systems that can recognize illnesses from picture and video data. The paper emphasizes the potential application of cutting-edge models like Detectron2 to address issues with agricultural leaf disease detection. Together with other cutting-edge models, Detectron2 provides a promising means of enhancing the accuracy and effectiveness of disease diagnosis and control techniques. The use of automated disease detection systems holds the potential to reduce subjectivity in the evaluation of illnesses, optimize the allocation of resources in agriculture, and reduce dependence on human labour. These systems are able to continually learn from and adapt to changing disease patterns by incorporating complex algorithms and machine learning techniques, ensuring robust and stable agricultural operations. © 2024 IEEE.
