Application of convolutional neural networks to large-scale naphtha pyrolysis kinetic modeling

system design and optimization problems require large-scale chemical kinetic models. Pure kinetic models of naphtha pyrolysis need to solve a complete set of stiff ODEs and is therefore too computational expensive. On the other hand, artificial neural networks that completely neglect the topology of the reaction networks often have poor generalization. In this paper, a framework is proposed for learning local representations from largescale chemical reaction networks. At first, the features of naphtha pyrolysis reactions are extracted by applying complex network characterization methods. The selected features are then used as inputs in convolutional architectures. Different CNN models are established and compared to optimize the neural network *** the pre-training and fine-tuning step, the ultimate CNN model reduces the computational cost of the previous kinetic model by over 300 times and predicts the yields of main products with the average error of less than 3%. The obtained results demonstrate the high efficiency of the proposed framework.

An intelligent SVM modeling process for crude oil properties prediction based on a hybrid GA-PSO method

Properties prediction of crude oil remains an essential issue for refineries. In this communication, an exhaustive and extendable support vector machine(SVM) intelligent prediction process has been proposed to solve this problem. A novel hybrid genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization(GA-PSO)method was applied to optimize the SVM model. The optimization process and result demonstrated that the newly proposed GA-PSO-SVM method was more accurate and time-saving than the classical GA or PSO method. Compared with the classical Grid-search SVM, the combined GA-PSO-SVM model appeared to be more applicable for the properties prediction task. The TBP distillation curve fitting was exampled to evaluate the performance of the developed model. The regression result demonstrated the high accuracy and efficiency of the proposed process. The model can be applied in the Industrial Internet as a plugin, and the adaptability and flexibility is demonstrated by the implement of crude oil molecular reconstruction employing the intelligent prediction process.

Collaborative perception has attracted growing interest from academia and industry due to its potential to enhance perception accuracy, safety, and robustness in autonomous driving through multi-agent information fusion. With the advancement of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication, numerous collaborative perception datasets have emerged, varying in cooperation paradigms, sensor configurations, data sources, and application scenarios. However, the absence of systematic summarization and comparative analysis hinders effective resource utilization and standardization of model evaluation. As the first comprehensive review focused on collaborative perception datasets, this work reviews and compares existing resources from a multi-dimensional perspective. We categorize datasets based on cooperation paradigms, examine their data sources and scenarios, and analyze sensor modalities and supported tasks. A detailed comparative analysis is conducted across multiple dimensions. We also outline key challenges and future directions, including dataset scalability, diversity, domain adaptation, standardization, privacy, and the integration of large language models. This article proposes a filter-based method for co-estimating the state-of-charge and state-of-health of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries to ensure battery safety and reliability. The terminal voltage expression based on the battery hybrid equivalent model is rewritten as a product of measurable variable matrix, nonmeasurable variable matrix, and unknown parameter matrix. To address the issue of model mismatch caused by variations in model parameters with state-of-charge, temperature, and current direction, an unknown parameter matrix adaptation law is designed using signal filters to achieve adaptive updating of the battery model. Based on this, a nonlinear adaptive observer is proposed to realize the co-estimation of state-of-charge and state-of-health. Unlike traditional algorithms that assume model parameters to be constant, the proposed method achieves the overall design of model adaptive updating and state estimation methods, leading to better estimation accuracy. Finally, this method is tested by experiments under the worldwide harmonized light vehicle test procedure condition, and compared with the extended state observer which proves that the proposed method has higher estimation accuracy. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) seeks to improve smart factory productivity by leveraging automation and scalability. For automation in industry, optimization, collaboration and protection, and scalability, the IoTs paradigm, technology for communication and information, and intelligent systems are integrated as a single organism. This article presents a blockchain-assisted safe data-sharing mechanism that provides security requirements in the industry using IoT. End-to-end authentication is developed based on the blockchain’s reputation, and the smart contract is used to validate nodes’ security measures. Through integrity verification and categorization in node terminals and industry, the blockchain paradigm manages data collection and dissemination. An efficient proof of authentication (PoAh) consensus mechanism is created using the blockchain network to build a collaborative network to preserve logs and verification data in the industrial IoT. It accomplishes trustworthy authentication and endpoint activity tracing, and edge computing is used in blockchain nodes to offer device authentication processes that utilize smart contracts and PoAh. According to an experimental study, the proposed architecture lowers the authentication time and obtains a high response rate. The proposed system’s service time shows the efficiency of PoAh-based blockchain architecture for industrial IoT compared with existing works. Finally, we evaluated various block sizes to ensure an efficient transaction rate. The outcomes demonstrate the practicality of the suggested and put-into-practice architecture, distinguished by enhanced data audibility, device data ownership, security, and privacy while utilizing decentralized storage. © The Author(s) 2025.

Large language models (LLMs) hold promise for transforming healthcare, from streamlining administrative and clinical workflows to enriching patient engagement and advancing clinical decision-making. However, their successful integration requires rigorous development, adaptation, and evaluation strategies tailored to clinical needs. In this Review, we highlight recent advancements, explore emerging opportunities for LLM-driven innovation, and propose a framework for their responsible implementation in healthcare settings. We examine strategies for adapting LLMs to domain-specific healthcare tasks, such as fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and multimodal integration with electronic health records. We also summarize various evaluation metrics tailored to healthcare, addressing clinical accuracy, fairness, robustness, and patient outcomes. Furthermore, we discuss the challenges associated with deploying LLMs in healthcare—including data privacy, bias mitigation, regulatory compliance, and computational sustainability—and underscore the need for interdisciplinary collaboration. Finally, these challenges present promising future research directions for advancing LLM implementation in clinical settings and healthcare. © 2025, CC BY-NC-ND.

Joint extraction method for entity relations from mineral resources reports integrating dependency parsing and improved graph convolutional networks

Geological reports, as crucial technical documents reflecting the outcomes of geological survey work, encapsulate extensive expert and domain knowledge. Geological knowledge graphs integrate vast amounts of data, facilitating efficient and rapid extraction of knowledge embedded within geoscientific data. The extraction of geological entity relations is a key method in creating these knowledge graphs. Existing techniques for extracting geological entities and their relations encounter difficulties such entity overlap, relation overlap, and the challenge of obtaining deep semantic information because of the vastness and complexity of geological data. Our study suggests a collaborative extraction model for entity relations that integrates dependency syntactic relations with a graph convolutional network (GCN) in order to address these problems. This model learns dependency syntactic structures and deep semantic information by building a GCN that includes dependency syntactic relations. A pointer network decoder is then added to increase entity relation extraction efficiency. Dependencies between words in a phrase, such as subject-verb and verb-object relations, are revealed via dependency syntactic analysis. By structuring these dependencies into a graph, the model captures syntactic structural information. Through operations involving adjacency matrices and feature matrices, the model effectively propagates and aggregates node information, thereby capturing the global dependency syntactic structure and deep semantic information of sentences. The integration of dependency syntactic relations with GCN processing enables the model to more accurately comprehend entity relations within sentences. Results from experiments show that this model successfully tackles problems like overlapping entity relations and the challenge of gleaning deep semantic information from geological texts. It achieves a 79.73% accuracy rate and a 77.98% F1 score on geological text datasets. © 2025

The fine defect structure inside the CoCrTa grains in a CoCrTa/Cr bilayer film has been investigated by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. A high density of stacking faults bound by partial dislocations has been observed. The origin of these stacking faults and the nucleation and growth of CoCrTa on Cr columns have been discussed. It is suggested the surface morphology of the Cr column could play an important role in determining the number of CoCrTa nuclei and consequently the size of the individual CoCrTa crystallographic variants. In addition, plates of face-centered cubic CoCrTa separating the hexagonal-close-packed regions have been found and we believe that the existence of these plates could lead to coercivity enhancement.

The introduction of intelligent interconnectivity between the physical and human worlds has attracted great attention for future sixth-generation (6G) networks, emphasizing massive capacity, ultra-low latency, and unparalleled reliability. Wireless distributed networks and multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL), both of which have evolved from centralized paradigms, are two promising solutions for the great attention. Given their distinct capabilities, such as decentralization and collaborative mechanisms, integrating these two paradigms holds great promise for unleashing the full power of 6G, attracting significant research and development attention. This paper provides a comprehensive study on MARL-assisted wireless distributed networks for 6G. In particular, we introduce the basic mathematical background and evolution of wireless distributed networks and MARL, as well as demonstrate their interrelationships. Subsequently, we analyze different structures of wireless distributed networks from the perspectives of homogeneous and heterogeneous. Furthermore, we introduce the basic concepts of MARL and discuss two typical categories, including model-based and model-free. We then present critical challenges faced by MARL-assisted wireless distributed networks, providing important guidance and insights for actual implementation. We also explore an interplay between MARL-assisted wireless distributed networks and emerging techniques, such as information bottleneck and mirror learning, delivering in-depth analyses and application scenarios.
