Vehicular Cloud Computing (VCC) offers a promising platform for supporting various automotive applications and services. However, its distributed and dynamic nature makes it susceptible to Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks, particularly during channel establishment. This research proposes a comprehensive approach to mitigate these risks by integrating a suite of security mechanisms. These include rate-limiting, resource management, traffic analysis, access control, authentication, encryption, intrusion detection, behavioral analysis, and blacklisting/whitelisting techniques. By incorporating these measures, the proposed approach enhances the security and reliability of VCC, ensuring the availability of critical automotive services and protecting vehicles from the impact of DoS attacks. © 2024 IEEE.

Efficient Modulo Multiplier

The paper presents the methodology to compute modulo multiplication with the moduli set 2n, 2n−1, 2n+1. In addition to this, designs of the modulo multipliers, namely 2n, 2n−1, and 2n+1 (with n = 4, 8, and 16), have been proposed which are based on half adders, full adders, 4:3 compressor, 7:3 compressor, and the multi-column compressor namely 5,5:4. The gate level design of 4:3 compressor is carried out by solving the truth table using the K-map reduction. To verify the functionalities we have implemented the proposed modulo multipliers using VHDL coding in Xilinx 14.2 design suite. Simulation using Virtex-6 device has been performed to estimate delay, power consumption, and power-delay product (PDP). Moreover, the modulo multipliers are simulated in Cadence RC compiler using 0.18 μm technology to estimate the area. One of the major contributions to the arts of this work is in the partial product reduction stage which utilizes the multi-column 5,5:4 compressor to reduce power and area. The modulo 2n−1 multiplier of operand size 4-bit shows an improvement of 66.34% in terms of area over the best-reported paper. On the other hand, the modulo 2n+1 multiplier of operand size 4-bit shows an improvement of 58.59% terms of in area and the same of operand size 8-bit shows an improvement of 22.72% over the best-reported paper. The proposed algorithms of moduli multiplication are applicable to Booth multiplication of signed numbers. © 2023, Electronics. All Rights Reserved.

Diffusion models, a specific type of generative model, have achieved unprecedented performance in recent years and consistently produce high-quality synthetic samples. A critical prerequisite for their notable success lies in the presence of a substantial number of training samples, which can be impractical in real-world applications due to high collection costs or associated risks. Consequently, various finetuning and regularization approaches have been proposed to transfer knowledge from existing pre-trained models to specific target domains with limited data. This paper introduces the Transfer Guided Diffusion Process (TGDP), a novel approach distinct from conventional finetuning and regularization methods. We prove that the optimal diffusion model for the target domain integrates pre-trained diffusion models on the source domain with additional guidance from a domain classifier. We further extend TGDP to a conditional version for modeling the joint distribution of data and its corresponding labels, together with two additional regularization terms to enhance the model performance. We validate the effectiveness of TGDP on both simulated and real-world datasets. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. All rights reserved.

Feature selection using modified chaotic satin bowerbird algorithm with deep transfer learning for Multispectral Image Classification

Multispectral image classification has received significant attention among research communities and academicians. Recently, several artificial intelligence (AI) models can be used for the extraction of prominent features. Besides, deep learning (DL) methods become more familiar and gained interest in the remote sensing community for the classification of multispectral and hyperspectral images. With this motivation, this paper presents an optimized feature learning with deep transfer learning enabled multispectral image classification (OFLDTL-MSIC) technique. The proposed OFLDTL-MSIC technique aims to categorize the different class labels of the multispectral images. Besides, the OFLDTL-MSIC technique applies multi-level discrete wavelet transform (DWT) based image decomposition technique. Moreover, the EfficientNet technique is applied as a feature extractor to generate a collection of features. Furthermore, selecting optimal features extracted by a EfficientNet involves identifying and retaining the most relevant and informative features The improved chaotic satin bowerbird optimization (CSBO) algorithm which uses dynamic population size is proposed for feature selection and kernel extreme learning machine (KELM) model is applied for the classification process. In order to ensure the enhanced performance of the OFLTDL-MSIC technique, a wide range of simulations take place using the Madurai LISS IV multispectral images and the results are examined under several aspects. The extensive comparative study highlighted the better performance of the OFLTDL-MSIC technique over the recent methods. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management 2024.

Information and funding decisions in peer-to-peer markets: An exploratory study

This study examines the interaction between soft and hard information in peer-to-peer (P2P) markets, utilizing a survey of 245 participants who evaluated 199 stylized loan requests. The findings reveal that providing both soft and hard information significantly improves funding decisions compared to relying solely on hard information. Soft information enables lenders to identify and support promising borrowers with strong, though marginally insufficient, hard information, while poor hard information effectively mitigates the risk of misinformation. We observe that ambiguity diminishes the influence of soft information, whereas hard information reflecting loan popularity amplifies it through confirmation bias. Consequently, the absence of soft information may impede lenders’ ability to recognize potentially successful borrowers. To ensure the reliability of soft information, P2P platforms should actively monitor its quality and dynamically adjust its prominence. In markets where soft information is generally aligned with borrower quality, platforms may consider de-emphasizing hard data or reducing ambiguity. Conversely, in markets with misaligned soft information, incorporating free-form text and prioritizing hard information can enhance decision-making. These insights offer actionable recommendations for P2P platforms to optimize information presentation and improve loan assessment. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

In machine learning, one of the methods to solve multiclass classification problems is a framework called Error-Correcting Output Codes (ECOC), which constructs a multiclass classifier by combining a lot of binary classifiers. ECOC assigns binary codewords to each category, and the multiclass classification performance varies depending on the code. In this study, we treat each element of the codeword as a random variable and evaluate the average performance of ECOC. As a result, for M class classification if the number of binary classifiers is O(M), then the average error probability of various codes approaches that of MAP estimation. We show that the important points are the ratio between the number of binary classifiers and M and the difference between the maximum posterior probability and the second highest posterior probability for the categories. © 2024 IEEE.

For permanent magnet synchronous machine(PMSM),the machine model is critical to predict the operating states for motor control,which,however,can be greatly affected by system ***,this paper investigates accurate machine modeling for control and parameter *** the proposed approach,the PMSM model with saturated inductances is used as the base model,and this paper investigates modeling and compensation of the offsets to the base model due to system nonlinearities such as saturation and core loss effects for accurate machine modeling and voltage ***,the offsets to the base model are modeled using nonlinear functions with variable coefficients to compensate saturation and core loss effect,which can achieve better accuracy without changing the model structure.A differential estimation model is derived to estimate the model coefficients from a small amount of measurements with simplified ***,the model offset calculation is both computation and memory efficient with simplified *** contribution is to improve the machine model accuracy and achieve precise voltage prediction for practical ***,comparisons and the application to temperature estimation are conducted on a test interior PMSM to validate the proposed approach.

The main objective of this project is to create a user-friendly intelligent chatbot for Medical guidance and support. This application has been classified into two different modes based on user preference, those are Online and Offline modes of interaction. In the Online mode of interaction, there is no need for any automation, there will be a real person at the other end answering user queries. Users can even ask for untrained data and will receive instant replies. This application is similar to a normal chat application, but the main disadvantage is that a real person is needed at the other end at all times. In the Offline mode of conversation which is entirely automated the user will be performing an interaction with the chatbot itself. The chatbot must consist of data sets and trained data collection, in this process there is no need for any real person, the chatbot itself will reply instantly based on the trained data. The chatbot will be more accurate when a large number of data is trained. This application is compatible with working in various browsers and varied networks. The Admin of the application plays a significant role. Admin can access all the given functions and is responsible for data training. data training plays a vital role in this application, the trained data will be used by the chatbot while answering user queries i.e. Offline mode. This chatbot application can be accessed by several users at the same time, where IP address plays the main role. The main function of this application is that user can post their corresponding queries and the application will be providing relevant information based on queries. The Latest Modern chatbots are used in applications where simple interaction is needed, for example, service and marketing technology to provide answers such as products, services, and consultancy. If the customer's queries don't match with the trained data sets, the customer will be escalated to manual interaction i.e. Online mode. © 2024 IE

The Space Syntax theoretical framework sustains that the urban spaces’ configuration possesses intrinsic information which allows to model and foresee patterns of human movement and social interaction. Critics argue, however, that there are several factors beyond configuration that influence pedestrian behaviour. In particular, critics focus on the absence of the temporal component by saying that, while Space Syntax can reveal systemic logics, it cannot depict the actual time-dependent movement variation in micro-urban scales and their causes. Nevertheless, if accounted pedestrian flows maintain their hierarchies over time and those coincide with the street hierarchies denoted by Space Syntax, this would reinforce the role of the configurational component in movement. Given this premise, the paper discusses pedestrian flow data and Visibility Graph Analysis in Piazza delle Vettovaglie, Pisa (Italy), to assess: a) if pedestrian flows hierarchy actually changes, by comparing people counts registered in different timestamps, along three days, at different access gates;b) if different Space Syntax metrics express the same gate hierarchy;c) if-and-how the modelled and real hierarchies differ from each other. This discussion aims to unveil the role of time in micro-urban spaces usage, and provide a first answer to the question: do changes in pedestrian movement across time follow the configurational hierarchy established with Space Syntax? Results inform that despite changing in flows, the hierarchy proved rather regular across time, thus confirming the Space Syntax premises and the role of configurational component in movement. © 14th International Space Syntax Symposium, SSS 2024.
