This research paper explores the evolution of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computational Linguistics, tracing the transition from grammar-based approaches to the adoption of machine learning methods. Initially rooted in linguistic theories, early NLP systems relied on rule-based methods for language parsing and processing, albeit with limitations in handling natural language complexities. The advent of machine learning brought about a paradigm shift, empowering NLP systems to learn patterns directly from data, leading to more adaptable and robust language processing capabilities. Hybrid approaches, blending rule-based techniques with machine learning, have emerged as a synergistic solution, combining the interpretability of rules with the learning capacity of algorithms. Recent advancements in NLP, including transformer models and multimodal techniques, have further accelerated progress, enabling state-of-the-art systems capable of human-level performance across diverse applications. Looking forward, future directions in NLP encompass neural symbolic approaches, self-supervised learning, multimodal NLP, continual learning, and ethical considerations, promising further innovation in the field. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and a commitment to responsible AI, the evolution of NLP continues to bridge the gap between human language and machine understanding, shaping a future where intelligent communication between humans and machines is seamless and ubiquitous. © 2024 IEEE.

Woth the realm of Internet supportive Things (IoT), where numerous wireless components constantly communicate, a unique challenge arises. This challenge includes issues such as handling diverse devices, ensuring data broadcasting and managing scalability. To handle these issues, a new routing protocol has been proposed in this paper. This protocol is intelligent, energy-conscious, and employs a multi-objective approach, based on the distribution type Reinforcment based Learn -Driven (RL) mechanism integrated Meta-Learning termed as data synchronized -Machine learning (DS-ML). The core goal of proposed data-route mechanism, called DS-ML, will optimized power consumption on IoT connected networks, a critical issue given the defined power resources of wireless connected IoT Components. Additionally, mechanism focuses on adapting to network changes seamlessly by ensuring smooth adjustments to alterations and minimizing disruptions to enhances entire network Efficacy. The algorithm incorporates correlates issues in rewards designed in acceleration of the learn cycle. Through various simulation parameters, the DS-ML routing protocol demonstrated significant improvements in power efficacy and rapid adapt in unexpected network happenings. This was evidenced by enhancements in delivered ratio of data sets and reductions in data-sets delivery latency when compares in conventional data-routing Techniques. In general, proposed DS-ML system represents a solution for enhancing the performances and sustainability of IoT network infrastructure. © 2024 IEEE.

The rapid proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has ushered in unprecedented levels of connectivity, offering enhanced automation and data sharing across diverse domains. However, this surge in interconnectivity has brought about a significant challenge regarding cyber security threats and intrusions. To overcome this problem, we propose a Hybrid Bayesian Tree Fusion (HBTF) for predicting the detection system. These systems leverage the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence to predict and proactively mitigate potential security breaches. We gather the NSL-KDD data set for evaluating the proposed method for forecasting intrusion detection. The collected data are preprocessed using Z score normalization to eliminate the noise. Extract the feature from the preprocessed data using kernel-based independent component analysis (KICA). The experimental findings of the proposed method are evaluated by recall, precision, f1-score, and accuracy from the result. The HBTF is greater than the existing method. The integration of AI augments the capability of IoT networks to counter emerging threats, ultimately fostering a safer and more secure interconnected world. © 2024 IEEE.

Radio-Frequency (RF)-based Human Activity Recognition (HAR) rises as a promising solution for applications unamenable to techniques requiring computer visions. However, the scarcity of labeled RF data due to their non-interpretable nature poses a significant obstacle. Thanks to the recent breakthrough of foundation models (FMs), extracting deep semantic insights from unlabeled visual data become viable, yet these vision-based FMs fall short when applied to small RF datasets. To bridge this gap, we introduce FM-Fi, an innovative cross-modal framework engineered to translate the knowledge of vision-based FMs for enhancing RF-based HAR systems. FM-Fi involves a novel cross-modal contrastive knowledge distillation mechanism, enabling an RF encoder to inherit the interpretative power of FMs for achieving zero-shot learning. It also employs the intrinsic capabilities of FM and RF to remove extraneous features for better alignment between the two modalities. The framework is further refined through metric-based few-shot learning techniques, aiming to boost the performance for predefined HAR tasks. Comprehensive evaluations evidently indicate that FM-Fi rivals the effectiveness of vision-based methodologies, and the evaluation results provide empirical validation of FM-Fi's generalizability across various environments. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s).

Tumors are one of the most common tumors in humans, and the main treatment at present is surgical removal. Preoperative planning of tumors usually requires a professional doctor to manually segment the images, but this process is limited by the doctor’s technical experience, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. In addition, segmentation is extremely difficult due to the complexity and morphological diversity of tumor lesions. We propose a tumor image segmentation method based on improved Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The model enhances the feature extraction ability by introducing a deep separable convolutional layer and batch normalization, while using dilated convolution to increase the receptive field, thereby improving the accuracy of segmentation. We also incorporated attention mechanisms into the model to focus more accurately on the tumor area and further optimize the segmentation effect. In order to verify the effectiveness of the model, we conducted experimental analysis on multiple publicly available medical imaging datasets. Experimental results show that the improved convolutional neural network significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of segmentation compared with traditional methods in tumor image segmentation tasks. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Bilevel optimization has been recently applied to many machine learning tasks. However, their applications have been restricted to the supervised learning setting, where static objective functions with benign structures are considered. But bilevel problems such as incentive design, inverse reinforcement learning (RL), and RL from human feedback (RLHF) are often modeled as dynamic objective functions that go beyond the simple static objective structures, which pose significant challenges of using existing bilevel solutions. To tackle this new class of bilevel problems, we introduce the first principled algorithmic framework for solving bilevel RL problems through the lens of penalty formulation. We provide theoretical studies of the problem landscape and its penalty-based (policy) gradient algorithms. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithms via simulations in the Stackelberg game and RLHF.

Regular cities can be transformed into intelligent structures by leveraging information and communication technologies. Innovative city development could be significantly impacted by the Internet of Things paradigm, commonly called cloud computing. All urban locations have a lot of traffic. In this study, Internet-of- Things (IoT) based system is proposed for health care services to organize and to establish the traffic signaling and pick up a route under which road congestion can be administrated. Vehicle accident contraventions are identified by the traffic officers using an online service that is hierarchically carefully monitored or constrained. However, the suggested approach is generic and may be utilized in any major metropolis without losing its generality. Traffic lights linked to cameras in metropolitan areas can be upgraded by connecting to IoT. During a pandemic, this approach is precious. The police can easily regulate traffic from their homes using their cell phones and identify defaulters. The suggested technique aids in the separation of ambulance and rescue engines from ordinary traffic. © 2023 IEEE.

In the era of informatics, the effectiveness of machine learning models is compromised due to the challenge of dimensionality in the data. The presence of redundant and irrelevant features significantly increases computational complexity, posing a central obstacle in the extraction of valuable insights from the extensive dataset. Any machine learning model’s performance suffers because of the issue of the plague of dimensionality. To improve the classifier’s performance, feature selection is applied beforehand on applying the machine learning model. Feature selection is accomplished using Enhanced Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (E-BPSO) with the aid of boosting the performance of the K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) classifier and is experimented on benchmarking real-world datasets. The conventional BPSO suffers from the problem of exploration which leads to premature convergence. In order to overcome the drawbacks of conventional BPSO, E-BPSO is proposed. The enhancement is made by integrating the self-adaptive velocity to drive the particle with the aid to balance exploration and exploitation. The performance of the proposed E-BPSO is evaluated against the traditional binary particle swarm optimization algorithm and genetic algorithm, considering metrics like accuracy, fitness, root mean square error, and dimensionality reduction ratio. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The proposed models can design the airfoil by Cuckoo search with Levenberg-Marquardt. The Neural Network framework has impediments due to over-fitting. This paper proposed a modified cuckoo search. here the aerodynamic coefficient as an input to produce output the airfoil coordinates. The generated airfoil is compared to know its performance metrics. The Cuckoo search with the Feedforward Neural Network model yields the lowest prediction error. © 2023 IEEE.
