1 Introduction Traditional covert communication[1]usually relies on centralized channels,which are efficient in transmission but susceptible to eavesdropping and attacks,leading to information ***,distributed methods also exist,such as peer-to-peer networks and distributed hash *** technology,which is decentralized,anonymous,non-tamperable and anti-attack,can be applied to covert communication to solve the problems of traditional methods and improve the quality of communication.

Advanced convolutional neural network with attention mechanism for Alzheimer's disease classification using MRI

This paper introduces a novel convolutional neural network model with an attention mechanism to advance Alzheimer disease (AD) classification using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The model architecture is meticulously crafted to enhance feature extraction and selectively focus on crucial regions within brain images, thereby improving diagnostic accuracy. A unique component, the MRI Segmentation Block (MSB), is introduced to manage the skull stripping task effectively, highlighting the model ability to learn from complex, multilayered information. We have incorporated a detailed experimental evaluation of the MSB, demonstrating its superior performance in cranial debridement tasks compared to existing methods. The experiments involved a range of MRI scans, assessing the MSB's accuracy through metrics like the Dice Coefficient and Jaccard Index against ground truth annotations by expert radiologists. The results substantiate the MSB's effectiveness, setting a new benchmark for precision in medical imaging diagnostics. The proposed method integrates densely connected neural networks with a connection-wise attention model to extract multiscale features from MRI scans. Furthermore, the attention mechanism is fine-tuned to emphasize salient features significantly associated with various stages of Alzheimer's disease, thereby setting a new benchmark for precision in medical imaging diagnostics. Extensive experiments on the Alzheimer Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) dataset demonstrate the superiority of our method over traditional and contemporary approaches, with our model achieving high accuracy and computational efficiency. This makes it suitable for clinical applications where resources are limited. This study represents a significant advancement in the diagnostic process for AD, with potential implications for improving patient outcomes in clinical settings. © 2025 The Authors

Analysis of Phase Transition in Traffic Flow based on a New Model of Driving Decision

Different driving decisions will cause different processes of phase transition in traffic flow. To reveal the inner mechanism, this paper built a new cellular automaton （CA） model, based on the driving decision （DD）. In the DD model, a driver＇s decision is divided into three stages： decision-making, action, and result. The acceleration is taken as a decision variable and three core factors, i.e. distance between adjacent vehicles, their own velocity, and the preceding vehicle＇s velocity, are considered. Simulation results show that the DD model can simulate the synchronized flow effectively and describe the phase transition in traffic flow well. Further analyses illustrate that various density will cause the phase transition and the random probability will impact the process. Compared with the traditional NaSch model, the DD model considered the preceding vehicle＇s velocity, the deceleration limitation, and a safe distance, so it can depict closer to the driver preferences on pursuing safety, stability and fuel-saving and has strong theoretical innovation for future studies.

This paper reports on the peer-to-peer (P2P) live streaming service of the regional rounds of NHK National School Chorus Contest, which was held in August and September in 2010. To comply with many requirements from families of contestants in regional rounds, NHK started broadcasting regional contests live through the Internet using proprietary P2P broadcasting systems. The live streams attracted a total of 58,512 viewers nationwide during their entire schedules.

The construction and development of "two-oriented society" in Wuhan city circle should be combined with the development of colleges and universities in the region. It's necessary to update the concept and evaluate the development status and problems existing in the interaction between urban communities and universities. It's recommended that the winwin situation, interactive and common development concept and strategies should be established to ensure the healthy and sustainable development of both sides. On the basis of investigation, the following suggestions are derived: 1) direct and coordinate the development of both sides based on the principle of interaction and win-win situation 2) strengthen the cultural interaction and focus on building the harmonious culture of city circle;3) establish the "two-oriented society" subjects and cultivate the innovative talents;4) reform and explore the forms and approaches of social service for universities;5)establish the appropriate management mechanisms, including interaction base, resource-sharing mechanism, and so on. © 2010 IEEE.

The paper is devoted to the development of a genetic algorithm for finding the optimal values of control parameters of the ethylene oligomerization process. The formulation of the problem of optimal control of the ethylene oligomerization process is given. The control parameters are temperature and reaction duration, the values of which are subject to constraints. It is proposed to search for the solution of the formulated problems using a genetic algorithm with real coding. The principle of operation of genetic algorithms is based on the imitation of the processes of evolution of living nature. It includes cyclic application of selection, crossing, mutation and renewal operations to a population of individuals. For each of the problems under consideration the method of representation of the mathematical analog of the population, on the basis of which the solution is searched, is described. A step-by-step genetic algorithm for solving the formulated optimal control problems is given. A computational experiment is carried out, as a result of which the optimal reaction temperature and process duration, at which the target functional takes the largest value, are calculated. © 2024 IEEE.

Defects in DNA single-strand break repair are associated with neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. One such disorder is that resulting from mutations in XRCC1, a scaffold protein that plays a central role in DNA single-strand base repair. XRCC1 is recruited at sites of single-strand breaks by PARP1, a protein that detects and is activated by such breaks and is negatively regulated by XRCC1 to prevent excessive PARP binding and activity. Loss of XRCC1 leads to the toxic accumulation and activity of PARP1 at single-strand breaks leading to base excision repair defects, a mechanism that may underlie pathological changes in patients carrying deleterious XRCC1 mutations. Here, we demonstrate that xrcc1 knockdown impairs development of the cerebellar plate in zebrafish. In contrast, parp1 knockdown alone does not significantly affect neural development, and instead rescues the cerebellar defects observed in xrcc1 mutant larvae. These findings support the notion that PARP1 inhibition may be a viable therapeutic candidate in neurological disorders. © This is a U.S. Government work and not under copyright protection in the US;foreign copyright protection may apply 2025.
