In response to thermal runaway(TR)of electric vehicles,recent attention has been focused on mitigation strategies such as efficient heat dredging in battery thermal *** management with particular focus on battery cooling has been becoming increasingly *** usually happened when an electric vehicle is unpowered and *** this state,traditional active battery cooling schemes are disabled,which can easily lead to dangerous incidents due to loss of cooling ability,and advanced passive cooling strategies are therefore gaining ***,we developed an enhanced thermal radiation material,consisting of~1μm thick multilayered nano-sheet graphene film coated upon the heat dissipation surface,thereby enhancing thermal radiation in the *** surface was characterized on the nanoscale,and tested in a battery-cooling *** found that the graphene-based coating's spectral emissivity is between 91% and 95% in the mid-infrared region,and thermal experiments consequently illustrated that graphene-based radiative cooling yielded up to15.1% temperature reduction when compared to the uncoated *** the novel graphene surface to augment a heat pipe,the temperature reduction can be further enlarged to 25.6%.The new material may contribute to transportation safety,global warming mitigation and carbon neutralization.

Blood is vital for transporting oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to all body parts as it circulates through arteries and veins. It removes carbon dioxide, regulates body temperature, and maintains the body's immune system. Individuals constantly need blood and its derivatives to save their lives and improve their health through medical treatments and surgical operations. Liver diseases are one of the diseases that affects the health of individuals and requires blood to continue living. These diseases cause significant damage to people's health, and early diagnosis plays a crucial role in saving lives. In this paper, machine learning algorithms (support vector machine and random forest) are involved in detecting liver diseases and determining whether donors are suitable to donate blood from blood values. This paper is applied research that found that the performance measures of the random forest algorithm achieved excellent performance in identifying suitable people to donate blood. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.

The work addresses PID control design based on the velocity-pausing particle swarm optimization (VPPSO) technique. The suggested control design is utilized to develop a load frequency control (LFC) approach for an isolated microgrid (MG) with heat-pumps (HPs) and electric-vehicles (EVs). The efficiency and effectiveness of suggested control design are assessed when there are randomized solar power and load-demand disturbances. Furthermore, the robustness and effectiveness of suggested control schemes are evaluated under uncertainty in system parameters and different EVs & HPs controller's operating time-scheduling situations. The simulation results demonstrated the efficiency and usefulness of the recommended VPPSO-PID control strategy under several practical situations. © 2023 IEEE.

Traffic congestion is one of the most common problems in the transportation system. In urban planning and construction, traffic congestion increases the difficulty of control and scheduling, hindering the pace of urban modernization development. The development of intelligent transportation systems has to some extent solved these problems, among which traffic flow prediction is particularly crucial. A period processing layer containing concatenation, dimension amplification, and diffusion convolution was studied and designed. On the grounds of this, a graph neural network prediction model combining spatiotemporal period characteristics was designed. And it further introduced a traffic flow prediction method on the grounds of dynamic topology maps. This model combined adaptive topology generation and parameter learning mechanisms, synchronously processing the complex correlation of traffic data and the heterogeneity between nodes through gated recurrent neural networks. The outcomes indicated that the research model is more excellent than other graph learning methods in three evaluation indicators: Mean square error, mean absolute percentage error, and root mean square error. Their values were 15.63%, 9.87%, and 25.08%, respectively. The evaluation on all four datasets showed excellent performance of the research model, confirming the effectiveness of its adaptive topology and parameter learning strategy. This study had important practical significance for improving the traffic management system, alleviating traffic pressure, and enhancing the travel experience of urban residents. © 2024, Aracne Editrice. This paper introduces a new variational Gaussian filtering approach for estimating the state of a nonlinear dynamic system. We first assume that the predictive distribution of the state is Gaussian and derive an iterative method for updating the state posterior in the natural parameter space through KullbackLeibler divergence minimization. The obtained update rule is the same as that of the conjugate-computation variational inference technique in Bayesian learning. The derivation here is simpler and more insightful. We then impose a Wishart prior on the inverse of the state prediction covariance to take into account the impact of approximating the state predictive distribution using a Gaussian density on the state posterior estimation. The prediction covariance is identified jointly with the state using variational inference and the established state posterior update rule to achieve the desired Gaussian filtering. Simulation study examines the performance of the proposed filtering framework in target tracking based on bearing and range measurements. © 2024 ISIF.

In this paper, an approach to augment action recognition time series datasets, devoted to improving the accuracy of deep learning classifiers, is proposed. In the introduced method, two operators are sequentially introduced that perform linear and nonlinear modifications in the time scale of the input time series. The resulting data samples contribute to the variability within classes and allow a deep learning-based classifier to better capture their boundaries, leading to a significant improvement in the classification accuracy. The extensive experiments performed on eight publicly available action recognition datasets using the popular Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) classifier reveal the superiority of the proposed algorithm over related approaches. © 2022 The Authors. Fast reroute (FRR) mechanisms that can instantly handle network failures in the data plane are gaining attention in packet-switched networks. In FRR no notification messages are required as the nodes adjacent to the failure are prepared with a routing table such that the packets are re-routed only based on local information. However, designing the routing algorithm for FRR is challenging because the number of possible sets of failed network links and nodes can be extremely high, while the algorithm should keep track of which nodes are aware of the failure. In this paper, we propose a generic algorithmic framework that combines the benefits of Integer Linear Programming (ILP) and an effective approach from graph theory related to constructive graph characterization of k-connected graphs, i.e., edge splitting-off. We illustrate these benefits through arborescence design for FRR and show that (i) due to the ILP we have great flexibility in defining the routing problem, while (ii) the problem can still be solved very fast. We demonstrate through simulations that our framework outperforms state-of-the-art FRR mechanisms and provides better resilience with shorter paths in the arborescences. © 2023 IEEE.
