We study the problem of approximately transforming a sample from a source statistical model to a sample from a target statistical model without knowing the parameters of the source model, and construct several computationally efficient such reductions between canonical statistical experiments. In particular, we provide computationally efficient procedures that approximately reduce uniform, Erlang, and Laplace location models to general target families. We illustrate our methodology by establishing nonasymptotic reductions between some canonical high-dimensional problems, spanning mixtures of experts, phase retrieval, and signal denoising. Notably, the reductions are structure-preserving and can accommodate missing data. We also point to a possible application in transforming one differentially private mechanism to another. © 2025 M. Stress tolerance plays a vital role in ensuring the effectiveness of piezoresistive sensing films used in flexible pressure ***,existing methods for enhancing stress tolerance employ dome-shaped,wrinkle-shaped,and pyramidal-shaped microstructures in intricate molding and demolding processes,which introduce significant fabrication challenges and limit the sensing *** address these shortcomings,this paper presents periodic microslits in a sensing film made of multiwalled carbon nanotubes and polydimethylsiloxane to realize ultrahigh stress tolerance with a theoretical maximum of 2.477 MPa and a sensitivity of 18.092 kPa−*** periodic microslits permit extensive deformation under high pressure(e.g.,400 kPa)to widen the detection ***,the periodic microslits also enhance the sensitivity based on simultaneously exhibiting multiple synapses within the sensing interface and between the periodic sensing *** proposed solution is verified by experiments using sensors based on the microslit strategy for wind direction detection,robot movement sensing,and human health *** these experiments,vehicle load detection is achieved for ultrahigh pressure sensing under an ultrahigh pressure of over 400 kPa and a ratio of the contact area to the total area of 32.74%.The results indicate that the proposed microslit strategy can achieve ultrahigh stress tolerance while simplifying the fabrication complexity of preparing microstructure sensing films.

Energy-Efficient Functional Safety Design Methodology Using ASIL Decomposition for Automotive Cyber-Physical systems

Automotive cyber-physical systems (ACPS) are typical cyber-physical systems because of the joint interaction between the cyber part and physical part. Functional safety requirement (including response time and reliability requirements) for an ACPS function must be assured for safe driving. Auto industry is cost-sensitive, power-sensitive, and environment-friendly. Energy consumption affects the development efficiency of the ACPS and the living environment of people. This paper solves the problem of optimizing the energy consumption for an ACPS function while assuring its functional safety requirement (i.e., energy-efficient functional safety for ACPS). However, implementing minimum response time, maximum reliability, and minimum energy consumption is a conflicting problem. Consequently, solving the problem is a challenge. In this paper, we propose a three-stage design process toward energy-efficient functional safety for ACPS. The topic problem is divided into three sub-problems, namely, response time requirement verification (first stage), functional safety requirement verification (second stage), and functional safety-critical energy consumption optimization (third stage). The proposed energy-efficient functional safety design methodology is implemented by using automotive safety integrity level decomposition, which is defined in the ACPS functional safety standard ISO 26262. Experiments with real-life and synthetic ACPS functions reveal the advantages of the proposed design methodology toward energy-efficient functional safety for ACPS compared with state-of-the-art algorithms. An Intelligent Privacy Protection Scheme for Efficient Edge Computation Offloading in IoV

As a pivotal enabler of intelligent transportation system(ITS), Internet of vehicles(Io V) has aroused extensive attention from academia and industry. The exponential growth of computation-intensive, latency-sensitive,and privacy-aware vehicular applications in Io V result in the transformation from cloud computing to edge computing,which enables tasks to be offloaded to edge nodes(ENs) closer to vehicles for efficient execution. In ITS environment,however, due to dynamic and stochastic computation offloading requests, it is challenging to efficiently orchestrate offloading decisions for application requirements. How to accomplish complex computation offloading of vehicles while ensuring data privacy remains challenging. In this paper, we propose an intelligent computation offloading with privacy protection scheme, named COPP. In particular, an Advanced Encryption Standard-based encryption method is utilized to implement privacy protection. Furthermore, an online offloading scheme is proposed to find optimal offloading policies. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that COPP significantly outperforms benchmark schemes in the performance of both delay and energy consumption.

Defense for Advanced Persistent Threat with Inadvertent and Malicious Insider Threats

In this paper,we propose a game theory framework to solve advanced persistent threat problems,especially considering two types of insider threats:malicious and *** this framework,we establish a unified three-player game model and derive Nash equilibria in response to different types of insider *** analyzing these Nash equilibria,we provide quantitative solutions to advanced persistent threat problems pertaining to insider ***,we have conducted a comparative assessment of the optimal defense strategy and corresponding defender's costs between two types of insider ***,our findings advocate a more proactive defense strategy against inadvertent insider threats in contrast to malicious ones,despite the latter imposing a higher burden on the *** theoretical results are substantiated by numerical results,which additionally include a detailed exploration of the conditions under which different insiders adopt risky *** conditions can serve as guiding indicators for the defender when calibrating their monitoring intensities and devising defensive strategies.
