This paper considers the generalized synchronization problems of two different hyperchaotic systems with unknown parameters. By denoting the synchronization error signals as the difference between the state variables of the drive system and the state variables of the response system, the hyperchaotic synchronization problem is transformed into the stabilization control problem of the origin of the synchronization error system. Based on the Lyapunov stability, a new adaptive synchronization controller is designed and the asymptotic stability of the origin of the synchronization error system is proved, simulation results illustrate the correctness of the proposed generalized synchronization method.

Humanoids are increasingly used in the service sectors around the world to work with, or assist humans. However current humanoid designs place limitations on direct engagement with the human in terms of safety and usability. In this paper, we present an approach for the control of hybrid, high-speed and safe human-robot interaction systems with highly non-linear dynamic behavior. The proposed approach comprises the three soft computing techniques, namely back propagation neural network, fuzzy and genetic algorithms. This open-loop controller was applied to a Bridgestone Hybrid Robot Arm (BHRA). BHRA has three electric motors and four artificial muscles, arranged in an agonist/antagonist, and opposing pair configuration, that drive the five-degrees of freedom of the robot arm. The behaviors of the artificial muscles are observed under the effects of the links driven by the electric motors and it is shown that the proposed biologically-plausible controller could produce more accurate trajectories at higher speeds when compared to conventional PID and stand alone or combined versions of Neural Network and Fuzzy controllers.

This work presents a (numerical) technique to the local stability analysis of feedback linearizing control schemes for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems. A nonlinear decomposition of vector functions is applied to transform the Lyapunov stability conditions into a set of state- and parameter-dependent LMI (linear matrix inequality) constraints, which are numerically solved in a finite set of points. The proposed method can deal with a large class of nonlinear systems as well as very complex Lyapunov function candidates. In addition, a maximized level set of the Lyapunov function is proposed as an estimate of the system stability region. © 2010 IFAC.

The paper deal with a problem of a data collecting and visualization of several biomedical signals from patients by mobile embedded monitoring stations. Measurement devices were used in real tests. Due to a problem of real time processing a 12 channels ECG from ECG device by Bluetooth to mobile stations, packet parsing as the one problem part of data processing chain, is presented and solved by two possible solutions. Mobile embedded monitoring stations are based on Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system. The whole system is based on the architecture of .NET Framework, .NET Compact Framework, .NET Micro Framework and Microsoft SQL Server.

The optimal power flow (OPF) problem is nonconvex and generally hard to solve. We provide a sufficient condition under which the OPF problem is equivalent to a convex problem and therefore is efficiently solvable. Specifically, we prove that the dual of OPF is a semidefinite program and our sufficient condition guarantees that the duality gap is zero and a globally optimal solution of OPF is recoverable from a dual optimal solution. This sufficient condition is satisfied by standard IEEE benchmark systems with 14, 30, 57, 118 and 300 buses after small resistance (10 -5 per unit) is added to every transformer that originally assumes zero resistance. We justify why the condition might hold widely in practice from algebraic and geometric perspectives. The main underlying reason is that physical quantities such as resistance, capacitance and inductance, are all positive.

A novel ensemble neural network structure is presented for automatic classification of power quality disturbances. Power quality (PQ) disturbances analysis is the focus of power quality control. The characteristics of PQ disturbances include short duration, variety of types and so on. Power quality disturbances classification is the foundation of power quality control automation. Different types of Neural network, such as BP neural networks, RBF neural networks and probabilistic neural network etc, is already applied in the area of PQ disturbances classification and recognition. The researches about the neural network for PQ disturbances recognition are mainly focused on the optimizing for the signal type of neural network. But the accuracy rate of the classification is still needed to be improved. Ensemble and hybrid algorithms research is currently flourishing in pattern classification machine learning and decision sciences. Compare to traditional NN, the ensemble and hybrid NN classifier achieves higher classification rate. In this paper, a novel PQ classification system using S-transform and ensemble and hybrid NN is designed. There are 2 stages in the novel system. Firstly, the PQ disturbances signals are transformed by S-transform and the subset of features extracted from the result of S-transform is used as the input vector of the ensemble and hybrid NN. Secondly in the pattern classification process, BP network and RBF neural network are utilized as two classification agents. Through choosing different parameters and different samples, every agent includes a group of neural networks. The classification results, generated by different agents, are fuzzified into fuzzy numbers. The centroid of all fuzzy numbers is compared with the threshold. Finally we obtain the classification results. In the simulation, 6 types of disturbances signals which are simulated by Matlab 7.0 use for test the new classification system. The tolerance and non-stability in financial indexes make changes to other sub-systems like human resources, economics, factory productions and etc. Having underling knowledge and a model to simulate such systems obtains a fine vision to estimate further and calculate hard-decision making tasks before execution like: dept from banks, cash injecting and insurance services. Using Neuro-fuzzy networks are one of the most powerful tools for this estimation. The particular locally linear model type of these networks called LoLiMot are in interest because of their linear training and construction optimization. These network can be much efficient when be a recurrent network why can better capture the dynamism's order of dynamic processes. The Locally linear Neuro-Fuzzy model (LoLiMot) here is as basis for making recurrent. In this paper this network with a global state feedback is implemented and the accuracy and the results of this recurrent network on Dow Jones index as a financial time series are compared with the static LoLiMot. The obtained results were better.

This work deal with a possibilities of using an aJ-80 embedded JAVA processor in real usage. Microprocessor aJ-80 join together the advantages of programming in a higher programming language (as Java) and the system of one-chip controlling components (ATMEL, MICROCHIP, PIC, MOTOROLA etc.). Tested platform is suitable for Real Time - RT. We found several problems suitable for testing of the processor aJ-80 and its RT features to evaluate test platform. Based on the evaluation, the performance of the hardware program of the processor aJ-80 is very effective. In this respect, the product is recommended to use in many hard RT areas.

Use of various wireless communications network standards or GPS for positioning is well known from countless previously published research articles. Joining of positioning principles with data artefacts prebuffering can provide a many advantages in using of mobile devices as a clients of remote server on-line systems. On of the key aspects can be seen in rapid increasing of data throughput of download connection (downlink). The user requested data artefact can be preloaded to mobile database cache (SQL Server CE), from where it is accessible through a user software application. Accessing time of artefacts from mobile cache (physically located on SD Card) is fraction in compare to a classical on-line accessing the data artefact from server through a web services.
