Ubiquitous Computing (UbiCom) is idea which describe an information and communication technology systems which enable information and their tasks to support intelligent human computer interface, which is everywhere to use and also the technology background is invisible to user. Paper deal with a using of UbiCom principles to develop a mobile user adaptive system framework based on Predictive Data Push Technology (PDPT) Framework and Biotelemetrical Monitoring System (BMS) as two joined parts of complex User Adaptive System (UAS) framework. Main focus is in contribution of UAS to user or patient and his life quality.

A huge number of components for development tool of Microsoft Visual Studio is possible to find on internet. They are however only extensive, or graphically modified standard components that belongs to standard Visual Studio. Components development for industrial using is made by specialized firms. Such components are considerably price expensive. Aim of this project is to form at least small parts of components for HMI (Human Machine interface) on a basis of PDA with Windows Mobile with a usage of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, eventually of other needed Open Source libraries.

The problem we would like to discuss and solve is based on a remote controlling of created packages containing predefined components with a predefined numbers of these components. In principle the problem acts as a check out control problem. By the help of mobile device with integrated bar code scanner an application for such mobile device can be developed as a remote client of server, which contains a database with predefined properties, numbers of packages, etc. A web services and mobile client application was created using a Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.

Improving the control of shading blinds, lights, natural ventilation, and HVAC systems while satisfying human comfort requirements can result in significant energy cost savings with time-of-day electricity pricing. Traditionally, the above-mentioned devices are controlled separately. In this paper, a novel formulation for the integrated control and the corresponding solution methodology are presented. The problem is to minimize daily energy costs of lights and HVAC systems while satisfying equipment capacities, system dynamics, and human comfort. The problem is complicated since 1) individual rooms are coupled as they compete for the HVAC with limited capacity and nonlinear characteristics, and 2) the problem is believed to be NP-hard in view that decision variables are all discrete. A solution methodology that combines Lagrangian relaxation and stochastic dynamic programming is developed within the surrogate optimization framework to obtain near-optimal strategies. These strategies are further refined to become novel control rules for easy practical implementation. Numerical simulation results show that both of the above strategies can effectively reduce the total energy cost, and that the integrated control works better than selected traditional control strategies. © 2010.

The paper describes a problem of prebuffering on wireless connected mobile devices through a mobile database (Mobile SQL Server CE) as a solution for low throughput on wireless connection of mobile devices. As a second important area the optimal data artifact determination is described with a compare of two selected artifact size. The prebuffering control is based on wireless localization and positioning inside the buildings. Also the proposed technique is possible to adapt using others wireless communication networks or GPS positioning.

The aim of this project is stress testing of the system for data management and planning of the operations developed for home care agencies which has to be upgrading of the current system based on the older database of Microsoft Access product. The part of the system is a mobile application that allows employees to edit the records of patients directly in the terrain. The whole system, including applications developed for the stress testing is based on Microsoft technology .NET. Our Stress Testing application allows testing a selected problem areas to find any limitations before the tested developing solution will be set up at customer. By the help of our test application, the hardware solution for the server was selected on the base of selected home care agency needs.

Nonlinear Fisher Discriminant Analysis for binomial problems can be converted into a Linear-In-The-Parameters classifier model by introducing a least-squares cost function. However, the complexity of the classifier scales with the number of training samples, which makes it difficult to use on large data sets. A popular solution is to adopt a sub-model selection approach, such as Orthogonal Least Squares (OLS) or the Fast Recursive Algorithm (FRA), to produce a compact classifier with accurate parameters. The problem is that these methods need additional subjective choice of selection termination criterion, and inappropriate choice of this criterion may lead to an over-fitting classifier. Further, training data with large noise may even deteriorate the performance. This paper proposes a fast automatic forward algorithm for constructing a parsimonious descriptor of the nonlinear discriminant function, thus both the subjective choice of the termination criterion and the over-fitting problem due to noisy data can be avoided. This is achieved by an effective integration of the Bayesian regularisation technique, the Leave-One-Out (LOO) cross-validation criterion and the FRA algorithm. Experimental results are included to confirm the efficacy and superiority of the proposed algorithm on both artificial and real world data sets.

The vision tracking system in this paper estimates the robot position relative to a target and rotates the camera towards the target. To estimate the robot position of mobile robot, the system combines information from an accelerometer, a gyroscope, two encoders, and a vision sensor. The encoders can provide fairly accurate robot position information, but the encoder data are not reliable when robot wheels slip. Accelerometer data can provide the robot position information even when the wheels are slipping, but a long term position estimation is difficult, because of integration of errors arising from bias and noise. To overcome the drawbacks of each method mentioned in the above, the proposed system uses data fusion with two Kalman filters and a slip detector. One Kalman filter is for the slip case, and the other is for the no-slip case. Each Kalman filter uses a different sensor combination for estimating the robot motion. The slip detector compares the data from the accelerometer with the data from the encoders, and decides if a slip condition has occurred. Accordingly, based on the decision of the slip detector, the system chooses one of the outputs of the two Kalman filters, which is subsequently used for calculating the camera angle of the vision tracking system. The vision tracking system is implemented on a two-wheeled robot. To evaluate the tracking and recognition performance of the implemented system, experiments are performed for various robot motion scenarios in various environments.

This paper presents a sensor-data-fusion method using an Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF), to implement an accurate localization system for mobile robots. Integration of data from various sensors using an efficient sensor fusion algorithm is required to achieve a continuous and accurate localization of mobile robots. We use data from low cost accelerometer, gyroscope, and encoders to obtain robot motion information. The UKF, used as an efficient sensor fusion algorithm, is an advanced filtering technique which outperforms the widely-used Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) in many applications. The system is able to compensate for the slip errors by switching between two different UKF models built for slip and no-slip cases. Since the accelerometer error accumulates with time because of the double integration, the data from accelerometer is only used in slip model of the UKF. The results obtained from UKF sensor fusion algorithm are compared with the results from an accurate distance laser sensor. The experimental results show that the system is able to accurately track the motion of the robot in various robot motion scenarios including the scenario when robot's encoders data is not reliable due to the slip occurrence.
