Acoustic emission measurement results of acoustically induced cavitation bubbles in insulating oil are presented in this paper. Spectral analysis of acquired by a broadband transducer acoustic emission signals is proposed as a diagnostic tool for estimation of aging properties of mineral insulating oils. The article describes the main parts of the designed and built measurement apparatus used for acoustic cavitation investigation in insulating oils. In this note representative results of the experimental data taken from the apparatus are shown.

A new motion model and estimation algorithm is proposed to compute the general rigid motion object's 6-DOF motion parameters and center of rotation based on stereo vision. The object's 6-DOF motion model is designed from the rigid object's motion character under the two defined reference frames. According to the rigid object's motion model and motion dynamics knowledge, the corresponding motion algorithm to compute the 6-DOF motion parameters is worked out. By the rigid object pure rotation motion model and space sphere geometry knowledge, the center of rotation may be calculated after eliminating the translation motion out of the 6-DOF motion. The motion equations are educed based on the motion model and the closed-form solutions are figured out. To heighten the motion estimation algorithm's robust, RANSAC algorithm is applied to delete the outliers. Simulation and real experiments are conducted and the experiment results are analyzed. The results prove the motion model's correction and algorithm's validity.

The paper presents streaming current distributions measured in an overflow system in both laminar and turbulent conditions. These distributions were taken using a shifting spherical electrode connected with electrometer. For lower values of Reynolds number the profile of current is parabolic. For higher values of Reynolds number the profile is flattened. In this paper also charge density distributions were determined in both cases. In the turbulent regime the volume charge density is distributed in the pipe more evenly compared with the laminar regime.

The paper presents the application of the Cole-Cole model for determining the runs of the return voltage of the paper-oil insulation sample through a computer simulation. Different insulation conditions were simulated through an adequate selection of parameters α and τ of the Cole-Cole model. For calculation purposes, a series - parallel substitute scheme, obtained through approximation of a discrete characteristic operator impedance Za of the model applied, was used. The diagnostics of the simulated insulation condition was based on the analysis of a few selected parameters of the return voltage, obtained from time characteristics.

The paper presents research results on ECT (Electrostatic Charge Tendency) of cyclohexane and hexane mixtures, that is dielectric liquids of a simple chemical structure and high purity (Pro analysi). The research tests are carried out in a spinning disk system, where the factors affecting the value of the electrification current registered are a varying composition of the mixture and the rotational speed of the disk. In the next stage physicochemical parameters are measured in order to determine the relationship between the properties of the mixtures under study and the electrification current generated. The research results show that the ECT of the mixture depends, to a large extent, on the proper selection of particular components.

Motion estimation is one of the most important tasks for autonomous mobile robots. Modern mobile robots are equipped with different types of visual sensors that can provide wide ranges of outputs which can be used as reliable inputs for the computing of the robots displacement. One of the widely used visual sensors on mobile robots is the stereo camera due to its simplicity and availability. However, the recently invented Photonic Mixer Device (PMD) that uses the time of flight principle, also becomes more and more popular because of its robustness against ambient light and weak textured surfaces. This paper introduces the compared results of the motion estimation using two different types of 3D sensors (stereo and PMD) and also suggests a new approach to fuse their data in order to improve the calculation accuracy. An experiment was conducted using a mobile robot where the motion of the robot was evaluated using a least square technique. The results from each sensor were obtained and compared to prove their capability toward the motion estimation task.
