The paper considers a feedback optimising control of drinking water distribution systems (DWDS). Although the optimised pump and valves scheduling and disinfectant injection control attracted considerable attention over last two decades most of the contributions were limited to an open-loop optimisation repetitively performed during the DWDS operation. An information feedback from the DWDS is needed in reality in order to compensate uncertainty in the water demand prediction and the modelling errors. Also, while a strong interaction between the water quantity and quality exists most of the proposals regards either quality or quantity control. In this paper a generic model predictive controller for the optimising control of an integrated quantity and quality in DWDS is derived and applied to the case - study system. This paper suggests the real time tracking algorithm for human arm motion by processing the signals of surface EMG (ElectroMyoGram) sensors attached on both upper arm and shoulder. The signals acquired by using surface EMG sensors are processed with choosing the maximum in a short period, taking the absolute value, and filtering noises out with a low-pass filter. The processed signals are directly used for the motion generation of virtual arm in real time simulator. The virtual arm of simulator has two degrees of freedom and complies with the desired flexion/extension motions of both the elbow and shoulder of human. Also, we show the validity of the suggested algorithms through the experimental results.

State Space Wavelet Network is a specific neural network with non trivial structure. Such a structure implies problems with the network training. In SSWN, during the training process, weights and wavelons parameters are adapted. This paper presents algorithms and methods for optimising the SSWN parameters. During researches Hybrid Distributed Evolutionary Algorithm has been developed and Extended initialisation strategy was applied. Finally it was found that usage of Hybrid Distributed Evolutionary Algorithm with extended initialisation significantly reduce the time of SSWN learning.

This paper presents the idea of an event driven approach with MPC controller. In this paper minimal representation of voiced speech based on decomposition into AM-FM components is proposed for generation of emotion speech. For the decomposition, firstly time-frequency boundaries of AM-FM components are estimated and secondary each AM-FM component is extracted by using the variable bandwidth filter adaptive to the estimated time-frequency boundaries. Finally, two parameters, that is, instantaneous frequency and instantaneous amplitude of each AM-FM component are estimated. The set composed of instantaneous amplitudes and instantaneous frequencies is the minimal representation of voiced speech signals. The minimal representation is optimal feature set since the set describes effectively the biomechanical characteristics of the vocal codes and the vocal track. Raw speech signals are modified by changing the parameters for generation of emotion speech.

The design of interval observer for estimation of unmeasured state variables for application to drinking water distribution systems is described in this paper. In particular, it considers the design of such observer for estimation of water quality described by free chlorine concentration. An interval observer is derived to produce robust interval bounds on the estimated water quality state variables. The stability and robustness the interval observer are investigated under uncertainty in the system dynamics, inputs, and initial conditions and under the state measurement errors. The observer is applied to an example water network and its performance is validated by simulation.
