We have developed a method of representing robotic soccer game. This representation is used for controlling robots playing soccer. Our approach to robot soccer is to view it as a local interaction game, which reduces the need for centralized control. In this paper we describe both hardware and software implementation that is used by robots. Virtual grid is described. The virtual grid is much more efficient than representation of game using natural coordinates of robots. This representation can be efficiently used for a description of game strategies, which can be directly used for a faster control of robots. We also show how a can be learned and illustrate our approach using the latent semantic analysis. Strategy learning is important both for developing successful players and also for discovering strategies of the opponent team.

The current work presents an API based on the Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ) that optimizes real-time embedded systems development. Using this API it is possible to state non-functional specifications, like time constraints, and guarantee its implementation in the selected platform. Moreover, it discusses how real-time requirements derived from the RT-UML standard can be mapped to the elements from the proposed API. An integrated toolset is used to support the intermediate steps of this mapping process. The paper illustrates the mapping mechanism by means of a case study that implements the control system of an automated wheelchair.

The objective of this paper is to introduce a reference model of BACnet-based fire detection and monitoring system. The reference model is designed to satisfy the requirements of response time, survivability and flexibility. The reference model is operated on the basis of BACnet, a standard communication protocol for building automation systems. In this study, a simulator for the reference model of fire detection and monitoring system was developed. Using the simulator, this study evaluated the performance of the BACnet-based fire detection and monitoring system in terms of network-induced delay. Simulation results show that the reference model satisfies the requirements of fire detection and monitoring system.

This paper presents a new, practical, and realizable methodology and scheme for an optimal hybrid tracking control problem for continuous neutral time-delay system. A continuous-time linear quadratic cost function that has a high-gain property is used for tracking control specification. Two interpolation formulas together with an extended state vector are applied to directly convert the original analog optimal tracking problem into an equivalent digital optimal regulator problem. Then, using the discrete-time optimal control theory and an indirect digital redesign technique with a predictive feature, an effective low-gain digital tracker, without losing the pre-specified high-quality performance in the continuous domain, is designed for the original analog neutral time-delay system.
