Modern retail businesses face a significant challenge with the inefficiency of manually changing price labels on shelves. This manual process not only consumes valuable time and resources but also increases the likelihood of errors, leading to potential inaccuracies in pricing and a less streamlined shopping experience for customers. The proposed solution is the implementation of an Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) system that automatically displays the prices of goods on retail business shelves. This system connects a website (front end and back end) to e-paper via a Wi-Fi network and microcontroller, allowing retail business owners to update prices more easily. Additionally, buyers can search for desired items through the website. The results are the time to send data from the website to the e-paper, namely, to know the performance of the e-paper used. The average time required from 10 attempts to send data from the website to the e-paper is 20.935 seconds. Since the data is connected to the server and will be updated automatically, using this system will be more efficient than manually changing the price label, although it takes time to transfer data from the website to the e-paper. © 2024 IEEE.

A Hyperbolic Micromagnet for Multiple Spin Qubits with Fast Rabi Oscillations and High Addressability

We demonstrate a hyperbolic micromagnet to increase the manipulation speed of electron spins in silicon quantum dots using electric dipole spin resonance (EDSR). For single qubits, the hyperbolic magnet provides a large gradient of transverse magnetic fields of 4.9 mT/nm with the corresponding Rabi frequency ( 69 MHz). We then demonstrate that this hyperbolic micromagnet can drive a linear array of qubits with Rabi frequencies of 19 69 MHz and a high addressability (minimum difference of Larmor frequencies) up to 590 MHz to suppress the crosstalk between different qubits. We show that 15 qubits can be effectively addressed for high fidelity by this hyperbolic micromagnet. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

As cryptocurrencies become more popular as investment vehicles, bitcoin draws interest from businesses, consumers, and computer scientists all across the world. Bitcoin is a computer file stored in digital wallet applications where each transaction is secured using strong cryptographic algorithms. It was challenging to forecast the future price of bitcoin due to its nonlinearity and extreme volatility. Several recent classic parametric models have been found with limited accuracy. To address the limitations and fill the existing research gaps, there is a need for a good prediction model which will provide the desired accuracy in the case of uncertainty and dynamism. This research suggested a deep learning-based framework for predicting and forecasting Bitcoin price. The research will be helpful for worldwide consumers and industries to take their decision on whether to invest or not. The research utilizes Yahoo! finance dataset for the period of 01-03-2016 to 26-02-2021 having 1828 samples. The experimental outcomes of the proposed Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model outperformed similar deep learning models by securing minimum loss and confirming that it can be used for future price prediction of the cryptocurrencies, which is helpful for the buyer to take their decision. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

This paper presents the algorithm and very-large-scale integration (VLSI) architecture of a high-throughput and highly efficient independent component analysis (ICA) processor for self-interference cancellation (SIC) in in-band full-duplex (IBFD) systems. This is the first VLSI architecture reported in the literature based on the state-of-the-art entropy bound minimization (EBM) approach. A novel ICA algorithm is presented in this paper with momentum gradient descent optimization. Simulation results show that the number of iterations for the proposed algorithm is significantly reduced compared to the conventional ICA algorithms. Furthermore, a novel early-distribution estimation scheme is proposed in the designed ICA processor to compute multiple distribution functions with low latency and low complexity. The processing flow and the efficiency for the hardware utilization are specifically designed so that the processing speed is maximized with minimum employment of hardware components. The proposed ICA processor is designed and implemented based on the application-specific-integrated circuit (ASIC) flow. The post-layout estimations show that compared with the conventional EBM-based scheme, the proposed design improves the throughput and efficiency by 30x. In addition, compared to prior designs shown in the literature, the proposed ICA processor also demonstrates a significant enhancement in terms of throughput and efficiency. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

Generalized-linear dynamical models (GLDMs) remain a widely-used framework within neuroscience for modeling time-series data, such as neural spiking activity or categorical decision outcomes. Whereas the standard usage of GLDMs is to model a single data source, certain applications require jointly modeling two generalized-linear time-series sources while also dissociating their shared and private dynamics. Most existing GLDM variants and their associated learning algorithms do not support this capability. Here we address this challenge by developing a multi-step analytical subspace identification algorithm for learning a GLDM that explicitly models shared vs. private dynamics within two generalized-linear time-series. In simulations, we demonstrate our algorithm's ability to dissociate and model the dynamics within two time-series sources while being agnostic to their respective observation distributions. In neural data, we consider two specific applications of our algorithm for modeling discrete population spiking activity with respect to a secondary time-series. In both synthetic and real data, GLDMs learned with our algorithm more accurately decoded one time-series from the other using lower-dimensional latent states, as compared to models identified using existing GLDM learning algorithms. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Sleep is the natural state of relaxation for human being. Sleep quality is an essential yet frequently neglected aspect of sleep in general. Sleep quality is essential because it allows the body to restore itself and prepare for the next day. The standard method for evaluating sleep quality was subjective evaluation. Actigraphy devices, which can measure the sleep cycle, are now widely available. This study developed a method using Fuzzy Logic and an actigraphy device to measure and classify sleep quality. The fuzzy logic method was developed in several stages, which are determining the sleep quality measurement parameters, constructing the fuzzy set for each input variable, and developing the fuzzy rules. To evaluate the proposed fuzzy model, five individuals were invited to participate in the experiment and required to complete the PSQI subjective sleep questionnaire. The evaluation result shows that our proposed Fuzzy model achieves lower error compared to the existing method. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Task oriented chatbots are a sub-topic related to chatbots, where chatbots will perform certain tasks with specific goals. One part of creating a task-oriented chatbot is doing intent classification. Intent classification is a task of text classification. As in general text classification, the required dataset requires a label to carry out the classification process. To speed up and help the utterance analysis process, there is already a method, namely clustering, and Density-based clustering is a part of clustering that can determine cluster patterns based on arbitrary data, with DBScan as one of its algorithms. This research used 10000 client utterance data of awhatsapp based e-commerce conversation. SentenceBert also used as a state of art sentence embedding. This research yield silhouette score of 0.327 as the best result from eps of 0.1 and MinPts of 95. However, based on the cluster result, sentences labelled as noise can be further clustered. Text Preprocessing, text augmentation and sentence embedding techniques can be explored to increase the cluster performance. © 2023 IEEE.

True-Asynchronous Transmission Modeling and Software-Defined-Radio Experimental Testbed for Cognitive Radio Ad-Hoc Wireless Networks

The designs and analyses of 'asynchronous' channel-hopping (CH) sequences were traditionally based on a 'slot-synchronous' assumption. This assumption could not truly support the asynchronous and ad-hoc settings of cognitive-radio ad-hoc wireless networks (CRAHWNs) and resulted in overoptimistic performances. In this paper, a new 'true-asynchronous' transmission model is studied, in which every time slot is divided into two or more equal sub-slots for rendezvous. All secondary users (SUs) do not need to synchronize in any level, not even the sub-slot level. Pairs of SUs can rendezvous under any arbitrary time shift between their CH sequences without requiring time-synchronization hardware/algorithms, coordination, or scheduling. The throughput and average time-to-rendezvous (ATTR) of CH sequences under the new model with fixed and adjustable payloads and different numbers of sub-slots are derived and compared with the conventional 'slot-synchronous' transmission model. This paper also reports an experimental testbed using software-defined radios to validate the theoretical throughput and ATTR of the new transmission model. The numerical, experimental, and simulation studies find that the new transmission model with adjustable payload can support 'true-asynchronous' operations and also achieve better ATTR than and the throughput upper bound of the conventional model without requiring time-synchronization hardware/algorithms or coordination. © 2015 IEEE.

This paper presents an ultra-wideband (UWB) medium power amplifier (MPA) and a broadband high-power power amplifier (HPA) operating at the 5G/6G frequency bands. By using 0.15~\mu \text{m} GaAs pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (pHEMT) technology process, the proposed UWB MPA delivers an average small-signal gain of 16.5 dB, a saturation output power (\text{P}_{\mathrm {sat}} ) of 24 dBm, and a peak power-added efficiency (PAE) over 24% from 24 to 38 GHz with a chip area of 2\times1 mm2. The broadband HPA demonstrates a 17-dB average small-signal gain, 29-dBm \text{P}_{\mathrm {sat}} , and a PAE over 28% from 24 to 32 GHz with a 2.4\times1.1 mm2 chip size. The measurement results have demonstrated the great potential of the proposed PA for 5G/6G millimeter-wave applications. © 2011 IEEE.

In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company's business goals. Given the large contribution of information technology in the application of hotel applications as a supporting information system, it is a vital system that must avoid risks that can hinder and cause harm to the hotel management business processes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out risk management using the COBIT 5 framework to manage possible risks that may occur based on the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. From the evaluation results of the data obtained through observation and interviews as well as the calculation of the results of the questionnaire based on 6 APO12 subdomains, the results of the risk management level capability assessment in hotel applications are still at level 3 or have reached the level of established process with the target to be achieved at level 4 resulting in a gap of 1 level. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to propose recommendations that can be used by hotels in improving the application of information technology risk management so that in the future it can achieve the expected target level so that the APO12 level of capability can increase and become more optimal. © 2023 IEEE.
