This paper investigates the multiuser communication aided by movable antenna (MA) via antenna position optimization, where the uplink transmission from multiple user terminals (UTs) each equipped with a single MA to a base station (BS) with a fixed-position antenna (FPA) array is considered. Specifically, we formulate an optimization problem for minimizing the total transmit power of UTs, subject to a minimum-achievable-rate requirement for each UT, where the positions of MAs and the transmit powers of UTs, as well as the receive combining matrix at the BS are jointly optimized. To solve this non-convex optimization problem, we first express the combining matrix of the BS and the total transmit power of UTs as a function of the MAs' position vectors, which are then optimized by using the gradient descent method in an iterative manner. Simulation results demonstrate that compared to conventional FPA systems, the proposed MA-enhanced multiple access systems can significantly decrease the total transmit power of UTs by moving antennas within small regions of several-wavelength size. © 2023 IEEE.

High-resolution point clouds (HRPCD) anomaly detection (AD) plays a critical role in precision machining and high-end equipment manufacturing. Despite considerable 3D-AD methods that have been proposed recently, they still cannot meet the requirements of the HRPCD-AD task. There are several challenges: i) It is difficult to directly capture HRPCD information due to large amounts of points at the sample level;ii) The advanced transformer-based methods usually obtain anisotropic features, leading to degradation of the representation;iii) The proportion of abnormal areas is very small, which makes it difficult to characterize. To address these challenges, we propose a novel group-level feature-based network, called Group3AD, which has a significantly efficient representation ability. First, we design an Intercluster Uniformity Network (IUN) to present the mapping of different groups in the feature space as several clusters, and obtain a more uniform distribution between clusters representing different parts of the point clouds in the feature space. Then, an Intracluster Alignment Network (IAN) is designed to encourage groups within the cluster to be distributed tightly in the feature space. In addition, we propose an Adaptive Group-Center Selection (AGCS) based on geometric information to improve the pixel density of potential anomalous regions during inference. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of our proposed Group3AD, which surpasses Reg3D-AD by the margin of 5% in terms of object-level AUROC on Real3D-AD. Precise Asymptotic Analysis of Deep Random Feature Models

We provide exact asymptotic expressions for the performance of regression by an L−layer deep random feature (RF) model, where the input is mapped through multiple random embedding and non-linear activation functions. For this purpose, we establish two key steps: First, we prove a novel universality result for RF models and deterministic data, by which we demonstrate that a deep random feature model is equivalent to a deep linear Gaussian model that matches it in the first and second moments, at each layer. Second, we make use of the convex Gaussian Min-Max theorem multiple times to obtain the exact behavior of deep RF models. We further characterize the variation of the eigendistribution in different layers of the equivalent Gaussian model, demonstrating that depth has a tangible effect on model performance despite the fact that only the last layer of the model is being trained. Information retrieval (IR) is an essential aspect of modern-day generation, especially with the fast increase and expansion of the net and its related technologies. IR aims to broaden systems that can correctly and appropriately retrieve applicable statistics from considerable data, assisting customers in their search and records accumulating wishes. AI has performed a tremendous function in advancing IR techniques, making systems more innovative and efficient in retrieving data. However, with the ever-growing extent of facts on the net and the want for real-time admission to statistics, there may be a growing desire for side computing in IR systems. Area computing refers to the processing and garage of records at the brink of the community instead of sending them to a critical area for processing. This method gives numerous advantages, including reduced latency, stepped-forward information privacy and safety, and efficient use of community bandwidth. In recent years, researchers have explored superior side strategies in AI to broaden high-overall performance IR systems. These techniques include aspect caching, facet gadget mastering, and edge-based statistics filtering, Part caching entails storing frequently accessed data at the community's edge, reducing the need to retrieve information from a critical server. This technique can improve IR systems' performance by reducing latency and community congestion. © 2023 IEEE.

In this study, we consider a variant of unlabelled sensing where the measurements are sparsely permuted, and additionally, a few correspondences are known. We present an estimator to solve for the unknown vector. We derive a theoretical upper bound on the ℓ 2 reconstruction error of the unknown vector. Through numerical experiments, we demonstrate that the additional known correspondences result in a significant improvement in the reconstruction error. Additionally, we compare our estimator with the classical robust regression estimator and we find that our method outperforms it on the normalized reconstruction error metric by up to 20% in the high permutation regimes (> 30%). Lastly, we showcase the practical utility of our framework on a non-rigid motion estimation problem. We show that using a few manually annotated points along point pairs with the key-point (SIFT-based) descriptor pairs with unknown or incorrectly known correspondences can improve motion estimation.

Zero-shot learning (ZSL) based scene classification aims to recognize unseen classes by transferring semantic information from seen classes. The applicability of ZSL for scene classification in remote sensing images becomes challenging due to the complexity of scenes. Earlier attention-based methods are ineffective for extracting discriminative region-based features within a single image. This limitation hinders their ability to achieve transferability and accurately localize object attributes, which is essential for extracting discriminative region-based features. Hence, we propose a method for zero-shot scene classification in remote sensing images using a cross-semantic attribute-guided Transformer named RSZero-CSAT. Firstly, the semantic information is acquired using shared remote sensing semantic attributes to localize object attributes that characterize discriminative region features. Then, a Transformer in RSZero-CSAT is employed to localize object attributes within visual features accurately, enhancing the effectiveness of semantic information transfer in ZSL. Specifically, the RSZero-CSAT employs a semantic attribute → visual Transformer (SAVT) and a visual → semantic attribute Transformer (VSAT) components to extract visual features guided by semantic attributes and semantic attribute features guided by visual features, respectively. Further, SAVT and VSAT mutually learn and collaborate to obtain semantically enriched visual representations, leveraging prediction-level and feature-level semantic collaborative losses for capturing crucial semantic information. Finally, the semantically enriched visual representations obtained from SAVT and VSAT are combined to facilitate visual-semantic interactions in collaboration with class semantic vectors to classify ZSL. Our experimental results demonstrate the impact of RSZero-CSAT in improving the performance of unseen classes on four scene classification benchmark datasets in remote sensing images. Wireless sensor network (WSN) has entered various disciplines including healthcare, banking, transportation, ocean and wildlife monitoring, earthquake monitoring, and numerous military applications. Now days, there is escalation in size of data which makes it unfeasible to analyse it with accuracy. There are numerous problems that are faced when detecting a pattern between structured and unstructured data which are unworkable by humans, so to make computation fast, easy and accurate, Machine Learning came in existence. Machine Learning is extensively used in WSNs. To make a machine learn, a training dataset is required and output is predicted by testing the dataset. A dataset in WSN has multi-class in its dependent variable. This multiclass classification causes class imbalance problem. The paper proposes multi to binary class size based imbalance handling technique in wireless sensor networks (MBSCIH) technique to solve class imbalance problem in multi-class classification. The technique MBSCIH converts multi-class classification into binary-class classification. The proposed technique MBSCIH is applied on WSN-DS, NSL-KDD and KDD-cup 99 datasets and is tested with five major machine learning algorithm: Naive Bayes, Random Forest, decision tree, support vector machine (SVM) and k-nearest neighbour (KNN). The test method used for testing is 10-fold cross validation. Results infer that the proposed method increases the existing efficiency by 15.13%, 0.28%, 0.01%, 0.01%, 0.12% for Naïve Bayes, Decision Tree, SVM, Random Forest and KNN Algorithms respectively for KDD Cup99 dataset. The proposed method increases the efficiency by 43.1%, 2.79%, 0.01%, 0.53% for Naïve Bayes, decision tree, SVM and KNN algorithms respectively for NSL-KDD dataset. Automatic recognition of facial expressions is a common problem in human-computer interaction. While humans can recognize facial expressions very easily, machines cannot do it as easily as humans. Analyzing facial changes during facial expressions is one of the methods used for this purpose by the machines. In this research, facial deformation caused by facial expressions is considered for automatic facial expression recognition by machines. To achieve this goal, the motion vectors of facial deformations are captured during facial expression using an optical flow algorithm. These motion vectors are then used to analyze facial expressions using some data mining algorithms. This analysis not only determined how changes in the face occur during facial expressions but can also be used for facial expression recognition. The facial expressions investigated in this research are happiness, sadness, surprise, fear, anger, and disgust. According to our research, these facial expressions were classified into 12 classes of facial motion vectors. We applied our proposed analysis mechanism to the extended Cohen-Kanade facial expression dataset. Our developed automatic facial expression system achieved 95.3%, 92.8%, and 90.2% accuracy using Deep Learning (DL), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and C5.0 classifiers, respectively. In addition, based on this research, it was determined which parts of the face have a greater impact on facial expression recognition. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) offers valuable insights into the human brain's functional organization and is a powerful tool for investigating the relationship between brain function and cognitive processes as it allows for the functional organization of the brain to be captured without relying on a specific task or stimuli. In this study, we introduce a novel attention mechanism for graphs with subnetworks, named Self Clustering Graph Transformer (SCGT), designed to handle the issue of uniform node updates in graph transformers. By using static functional connectivity (FC) correlation features as input to the transformer model, SCGT effectively captures the sub-network structure of the brain by performing cluster-specific updates to the nodes unlike uniform node updates like vanilla graph transformers, further allowing us to learn and interpret the sub clusters. We validate our approach on the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) dataset, comprising 7,957 participants, for the prediction of total cognitive score and gender classification. Our results demonstrate that SCGT outperforms the vanilla graph transformer method, and other recent models, offering a promising tool for modeling brain functional connectivity and interpreting the underlying subnetwork structures.

Although deep learning-based algorithms have demonstrated excellent performance in automated emotion recognition via electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, variations across brain signal patterns of individuals can diminish the model’s effectiveness when applied across different subjects. While transfer learning techniques have exhibited promising outcomes, they still encounter challenges related to inadequate feature representations and may overlook the fact that source subjects themselves can possess distinct characteristics. In this work, we propose a multi-source domain adaptation approach with a transformer-based feature generator (MSDA-TF) designed to leverage information from multiple sources. The proposed feature generator retains convolutional layers to capture shallow spatial, temporal, and spectral EEG data representations, while self-attention mechanisms extract global dependencies within these features. During the adaptation process, we group the source subjects based on correlation values and aim to align the moments of the target subject with each source as well as within the sources. MSDA-TF is validated on the SEED dataset and is shown to yield promising results.
