Reporting-Guidelines in Medicine play an important role in promoting the quality of reports in health-related research. For instance, a poorly reported research may induce misinterpretation and inappropriate clinical settings. Basically, three major issues regarding Reporting-Guidelines in Medicine has to be addressed: (1) the existence of lots of reporting guidelines covering a broad spectrum of medical research increases the difficulties when reporting a medical research because it may not be clear which guidelines are applicable, or if all related guidelines are considered;(2) most guideline developers have not described how their guidance was developed, consequently tracking guidelines and features for evaluation, or even for correcting, may be not possible;(3) few guideline developers have evaluated the effectiveness of their guidance, then the real value that the guideline brings to reporting the research is not assured. Hence, we propose a solution to these three issues based on the Model-View-Controller Evolutionary Acquisition Interdisciplinary Research Project Management (MVC EA-IRPM) that is simultaneously a strategy and a web system for the development and management of reporting guidelines. © 2017 IEEE.

The conjugate gradient (CG) method is commonly used for the relatively-rapid solution of least squares problems. In image reconstruction, the problem can be ill-posed and also contaminated by noise;due to this, approaches such as regularization should be utilized. Total variation (TV) is a useful regularization penalty, frequently utilized in image reconstruction for generating images with sharp edges. When a non-quadratic norm is selected for regularization, as is the case for TV, then it is no longer possible to use CG. Nonlinear CG is an alternative, but it does not share the efficiency that CG shows with least squares and methods such as fast iterative shrinkage-thresholding algorithms (FISTA) are preferred for problems with TV norm. A different approach to including prior information is superiorization. In this paper it is shown that the conjugate gradient method can be superiorized. Five different CG variants are proposed, including preconditioned CG. The CG methods superiorized by the total variation norm are presented and their performance in image reconstruction is demonstrated. It is illustrated that some of the proposed variants of the superiorized CG method can produce reconstructions of superior quality to those produced by FISTA and in less computational time, due to the speed of the original CG for least squares problems. In the Appendix we examine the behavior of one of the superiorized CG methods (we call it S-CG);one of its input parameters is a positive number ". It is proved that, for any given " that is greater than the half-squared-residual for the least squares solution, S-CG terminates in a finite number of steps with an output for which the half-squared-residual is less than or equal to ". Importantly, it is also the case that the output will have a lower value of TV than what would be provided by unsuperiorized CG for the same value " of the half-squared residual. Forecasting has always been at the forefront of decision making and planning. The uncertainty that surrounds the future is both exciting and challenging, with individuals and organisations seeking to minimise risks and maximise utilities. The large number of forecasting applications calls for a diverse set of forecasting methods to tackle real-life challenges. This article provides a non-systematic review of the theory and the practice of forecasting. We provide an overview of a wide range of theoretical, state-of-the-art models, methods, principles, and approaches to prepare, produce, organise, and evaluate forecasts. We then demonstrate how such theoretical concepts are applied in a variety of real-life contexts. We do not claim that this review is an exhaustive list of methods and applications. However, we wish that our encyclopedic presentation will offer a point of reference for the rich work that has been undertaken over the last decades, with some key insights for the future of forecasting theory and practice. Given its encyclopedic nature, the intended mode of reading is non-linear. We offer cross-references to allow the readers to navigate through the various topics. We complement the theoretical concepts and applications covered by large lists of free or open-source software implementations and publicly-available databases. © 2020, CC BY.

Funneling acoustic waves through largely mismatched channels is of fundamental importance to tailor and transmit sound for a variety of applications. In electromagnetics, zero-permittivity metamaterials have been used to enhance the coupling of energy in and out of ultranarrow channels, based on a phenomenon known as supercoupling. These metamaterial channels can support total transmission and complete phase uniformity, independent of the channel length, despite being geometrically mismatched to their input and output ports. In the field of acoustics, this phenomenon is challenging to achieve, since it requires zero-density metamaterials, typically realized with waveguides periodically loaded with membranes or resonators. Compared to electromagnetics, the additional challenge is due to the fact that conventional acoustic waveguides do not support a cut-off for the dominant mode of propagation, and therefore zero-index can be achieved only based on a collective resonance of the loading elements. Here we propose and experimentally realize acoustic supercoupling in a dual regime, using a compressibility-near-zero acoustic channel. Rather than engineering the channel with subwavelength inclusions, we operate at the cut-off of a higher-order acoustic mode, demonstrating the realization and efficient excitation of a zero-compressibility waveguide with effective soft boundaries. We experimentally verify strong transmission through a largely mismatched channel and uniform phase distribution, independent of the channel length. Our results open interesting pathways towards the realization of extreme acoustic parameters, and their implementation in relevant applications, such as ultrasound imaging, sonar technology, and sound transmission. Augmented Reality is a technology that allows users to see the real world, with virtual objects placed on it or combined with the real world. Augmented Reality itself can be applied to various things, including as an educational media. In the field of education, technology can be used a culture introduction to society. One part of Indonesian culture is traditional houses. Traditional house is a building that symbolizes the culture of the local community. In North Sumatra itself, there are several traditional houses that have different forms. The use of Vuforia SDK in the construction of this application can display augmented objects in the form of 3-dimentional objects and also provide information on the house. This application will run on the Android mobile platform to make it easier for users to access it. In addition, users can choose their own objects to be used as markers to make the application use much easier.

Imaging materials and inner structures with resolution below the diffraction limit has become of fundamental importance in recent years for a wide variety of applications. In this work, we report sub-diffractive internal structure diagnosis of hexagonal boron nitride by exciting and imaging hyperbolic phonon polaritons. Based on their unique propagation properties, we are able to accurately locate defects in the crystal interior with nanometer resolution. The precise location, size and geometry of the concealed defects is reconstructed by analyzing the polariton wavelength, reflection coefficient and their dispersion. We have also studied the evolution of polariton reflection, transmission and scattering as a function of defect size and photon frequency. The nondestructive high-precision polaritonic structure diagnosis technique introduced here can be also applied to other hyperbolic or waveguide systems, and may be deployed in the next-generation bio-medical imaging, sensing and fine structure analysis. According to the clinical results from Manrique et. al. [1], a breast cancer immunotherapy model is established. The model is established based on biological principles and limited clinical results [1] for replications and prognostics of therapeutic effects. A single objective parametric optimization problem is formulated to find appropriate parameter values with biological meanings. Several constraints are formulated to satisfy both the disease progression without treatments and bio-system stability and equilibrium. To solve this parametric optimization problem with constraints automatically, the ε-DE+NSGA-II algorithm is proposed. The constraint violation is the second objective to be optimized in NSGA-II. The proposed ε-DE+NSGA-II can find the optimal parameters of the cancer immunotherapy model. The cancer immunotherapy model with the optimized parameters can not only replicate the clinical results from [1], but also provide prognostic outcomes for tumor rejection under various drug delivery schedules.

A new form of light-emitting diode (LED) light suitable for general illumination is proposed to enhance subconscious, nonimage-forming visual responses, which are essential to our well-being. Pulsing light has been shown to reduce photoreceptor adaptation and elicit stronger subconscious visual responses at an indoor illumination level. Using the silent substitution technique, a melanopsin-selective flicker can be added into white light. A linear optimization algorithm was developed to suppress any perceivable fluctuation of light intensity and colors of illuminated objects. Two examples of lights are given to illustrate the potential applications of the proposed multi-LED light for general illumination and therapeutic purposes. © 2009-2012 IEEE.
