This paper proposes a framework designed to optimise energy consumption in vertical farming. It aims to maximise cost efficiency by balancing between minimising system operations during the electricity price peaks and the ability to trade capacity on the FCR market while also fulfilling constraints on the internal growing process. We consider that the vertical farming system has distributed control with a series of actuators controlled by various spatially distributed PLCs that we refer to as agents, to underline their independence. The paper conducts two experiments for a lO-agent system with a Pareto controller and a lOO-agent system with a Lagrangian approach and shows the balance between more cost-efficient momentary energy consumption control. © 2024 IEEE.

Detecting Adversarial Examples of Fake News via the Neurons Activation State

Due to the development of technologies, such as the Internet and mobile communication, news production is increasing day by day. Proper news delivery can lead to a thriving economy and disseminate knowledge. However, in addition to disrupting the existing order, fake news may create incorrect values and even beliefs. Therefore, detecting the authenticity of news is an extremely important issue. At present, many scholars have used artificial intelligence (AI) to detect fake news, achieving excellent results. However, once humans become dependent on AI, adversarial examples (AEs) can deceive the AI model and allow humans to receive false information. We have discovered that samples from different categories result in distinct and independent activation state distributions for each neuron. Therefore, this study proposes a method that detects adversarial samples of fake news by observing the activation states of neurons and modeling them as a Poisson distribution. The results of the experiment showed that our method can effectively detect AEs mixed in normal data and remove them, thereby improving the classification accuracy of the model by about 17%. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this article can improve the detection accuracy of fake news AEs. © 2014 IEEE.

As cryptocurrencies become more popular as investment vehicles, bitcoin draws interest from businesses, consumers, and computer scientists all across the world. Bitcoin is a computer file stored in digital wallet applications where each transaction is secured using strong cryptographic algorithms. It was challenging to forecast the future price of bitcoin due to its nonlinearity and extreme volatility. Several recent classic parametric models have been found with limited accuracy. To address the limitations and fill the existing research gaps, there is a need for a good prediction model which will provide the desired accuracy in the case of uncertainty and dynamism. This research suggested a deep learning-based framework for predicting and forecasting Bitcoin price. The research will be helpful for worldwide consumers and industries to take their decision on whether to invest or not. The research utilizes Yahoo! finance dataset for the period of 01-03-2016 to 26-02-2021 having 1828 samples. The experimental outcomes of the proposed Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model outperformed similar deep learning models by securing minimum loss and confirming that it can be used for future price prediction of the cryptocurrencies, which is helpful for the buyer to take their decision. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Wireless body sensor networks have gained significant importance across diverse fields, including environmental monitoring, healthcare, and sports. This research is concentrated on sports applications, specifically exploring the viability of a wireless body area network tailored for high-performing athletes. The paper is divided into three sections. First, the design of the node location that is used for real-time monitoring of a sportsperson in which the node position, such as the human thigh, foot, arm, wrist, and chest, was estimated and the best position was selected. Second, the accuracy of an application when related to the other schemes such as TDMA with ZigBee and RA-TDMA & PA-TDMA was done. The reliability using RA-TDMA performed well and showed approximately 98% reliability. Finally, the features of wireless communiqués that affect the presentation of the network for RA-TDMA were estimated, such as delay and jitter. These findings collectively contribute to advancing the understanding of optimizing wireless body sensor networks for sports applications, with notable achievements including the identification of the arm as the optimal sensor placement, achieving a 98% success rate, and surpassing alternative techniques in network performance parameters like packet delivery rate. © 2024 – IOS Press.

In recent times, AI and UAV have progressed significantly in several applications. This article analyzes applications of UAV with modern green computing in various sectors. It addresses cutting-edge technologies such as green computing, generative AI, future scope, and related concerns in UAV. The research investigates the role of green computing and generative AI in combination with UAVs for navigation, object recognition and tracking, wildlife monitoring, precision agriculture, rescue operations, surveillance, and UAV communication. This study examines how modern computing technologies and UAVs are being applied in agriculture, surveillance, disaster management, and other areas. The ethics of UAV and AI applications, including safety, legal frameworks, and other issues, are thoroughly investigated. This research examines AI-based UAV applications across different disciplines, using open-source data and current advancements for future growth in this domain. Enhancing User Trust and Interpretability in AI-Driven Feature Request Detection for Mobile App Reviews: An Explainable Approach

Mobile app developers struggle to prioritize updates by identifying feature requests within user reviews. While machine learning models can assist, their complexity often hinders transparency and trust. This paper presents an explainable Artificial Intelligence (AI) approach that combines advanced explanation techniques with engaging visualizations to address this issue. Our system integrates a bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) model with attention mechanisms, enhanced by Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations (LIME) and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP). We evaluate this approach on a diverse dataset of 150,000 app reviews, achieving an F1 score of 0.82 and 89% accuracy, significantly outperforming baseline Support Vector Machine (F1: 0.66) and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) (F1: 0.72) models. Our empirical user studies with developers demonstrate that our explainable approach improves trust (27%) when explanations are provided and correct interpretation (73%). The system's interactive visualizations allowed developers to validate predictions, with over 80% overlap between model-highlighted phrases and human annotations for feature requests. These findings highlight the importance of integrating explainable AI into real-world software engineering workflows. The paper's results and future directions provide a promising approach for feature request detection in app reviews to create more transparent, trustworthy, and effective AI systems. © 2013 IEEE.

A brain tumor is a mass or growth of abnormal cells in the *** children and adults,brain tumor is considered one of the leading causes of *** are several types of brain tumors,including benign(non-cancerous)and malignant(cancerous)*** brain tumors as early as possible is essential,as this can improve the chances of successful treatment and *** this problem,we bring forth a hybrid intelligent deep learning technique that uses several pre-trained models(Resnet50,Vgg16,Vgg19,U-Net)and their integration for computer-aided detection and localization systems in brain *** pre-trained and integrated deep learning models have been used on the publicly available dataset from The Cancer Genome *** dataset consists of 120 *** pre-trained models have been used to classify tumor or no tumor images,while integrated models are applied to segment the tumor region *** have evaluated their performance in terms of loss,accuracy,intersection over union,Jaccard distance,dice coefficient,and dice coefficient *** pre-trained models,the U-Net model achieves higher performance than other models by obtaining 95%*** contrast,U-Net with ResNet-50 out-performs all other models from integrated pre-trained models and correctly classified and segmented the tumor region.

Security Threats to xApps Access Control and E2 Interface in O-RAN

Open Radio Access Networks (O-RANs) represent a novel wireless access network architecture that decomposes traditional RAN functions and makes them openly accessible. O-RANs enable real-time coordination, RAN performance optimization, and management through RAN Intelligent Controllers (RICs) and their related xApps. Due to the openness of O-RAN, developers have the flexibility to download various pre-developed xApps from the Internet for deployment. They can even develop their xApps to enhance the flexibility and innovation of the RAN. The current O-RAN official WG11 has defined numerous specifications for secure implementations. However, not only is accurately detecting malicious xApps a significant challenge, but the existing H-Release also does not fully adhere to the specifications in its implementation. This could potentially introduce security risks and threats. In this paper, we implement an experimental O-RAN H-Release environment and discover significant threats from the absence of specified access control permissions for xApps. Malicious attackers can illegally access APIs to utilize other services or launch attacks on legitimate xApps and E2 nodes through the E2 interface, potentially causing a complete RAN disruption. We used the identified vulnerabilities to design three attacks, providing detailed explanations and a comprehensive analysis of their impact on the system. Finally, we also submit the discovered threats to CVEs (CVE-2023-42358 and CVE-2023-41628), providing a reference for O-RAN officials to improve security in the future. © 2020 IEEE.
