This paper presents a novel approach aimed at developing a secure secret key-sharing system optimized for resource-constrained Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Focusing on the MQTT protocol, the research endeavors to establish secure communication channels between IoT devices and brokers, thereby enhancing the overall security of MQTT-based IoT deployments. This research introduces a novel Dynamic Lightweight Authentication for MQTT (DLA-MQTT) mechanism designed to the unique needs of IoT devices operating under the MQTT protocol. The DLA-MQTT mechanism leverages an innovative lightweight Generalized Feedback Shift Register (GFSR)-based Pseudo-Random Number Generator (PRNG) to generate ephemeral keys, ensuring secure communication while addressing the limitations of computational power and energy resources. Through a detailed comparative analysis with existing cryptographic solutions, the DLA-MQTT mechanism demonstrates superior performance in terms of computational overhead, energy consumption, and execution time, while maintaining robust security against common attacks such as Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) and Denial of Service (DoS). he proposed algorithm's adaptability and scalability are validated using the Cooja simulator, where simulated IoT networks are subjected to various threat scenarios. The results confirm the DLA-MQTT mechanism's efficacy, showcasing a significant reduction in resource utilization without compromising the strength of the security provided. © 2025 The Authors. This study presents experimental results showing that weak, extremely low frequency electromagnetic (EM) fields influence the growth rates of HT-1080 fibrosarcoma cells in vitro and offers a theoretical explanation for these effects. The results demonstrate that weak magnetic fields both increase and decrease the growth rates of fibrosarcoma cells by altering the mitochondrial superoxide (O2-) and calcium ions (Ca2+) concentrations in living cells. Over a 4-day exposure period, fibrosarcoma growth rates were modulated in the presence of low-level alternating current (AC) magnetic fields at a 10 μT amplitude at 13.5 Hz to 30 Hz frequency, superimposed on a 45 μT static background field. Effects due to changes in amplitude from 10 to 30 μT at selected frequencies are also investigated with the same superimposed static field. © 2025 USNC-URSI.

In the context of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), the role of vehicle detection and classification is indispensable for streamlining transportation management, refining traffic control, and conducting in-depth accident analyses. However, the intricate task of accurately detecting multi-oriented vehicles in diverse scenarios remains a challenge, even with the advancements in ITS. Factors such as vehicle morphology, design, road conditions, structural details, and climatic variables provide a significant part in the detection. To address this, our study introduces an advanced YOLOv8n model, specifically the YOLOv8n-CGW, which is built upon pre-trained deep learning frameworks. This model is meticulously tailored to enhance the detection capabilities for multi-oriented vehicles. Comprehensive evaluations on esteemed datasets like MtV, MERGED, Custom dataset, DAWN, WEDGE, and UA-DETRAC underscore the superiority of our approach over existing models. Notably, our YOLOv8n-CGW model achieves a remarkable mAP of 83.3% and boasts a swift inference time of 0.0019s, setting a new benchmark in the domain. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The widespread adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed various sectors globally, making themmore intelligent and connected. However, this advancement comes with challenges related to the effectiveness ofIoT devices. These devices, present in offices, homes, industries, and more, need constant monitoring to ensuretheir proper functionality. The success of smart systems relies on their seamless operation and ability to handlefaults. Sensors, crucial components of these systems, gather data and contribute to their functionality. Therefore,sensor faults can compromise the system’s reliability and undermine the trustworthiness of smart *** address these concerns, various techniques and algorithms can be employed to enhance the performance ofIoT devices through effective fault detection. This paper conducted a thorough review of the existing literature andconducted a detailed *** analysis effectively links sensor errors with a prominent fault detection techniquecapable of addressing them. This study is innovative because it paves theway for future researchers to explore errorsthat have not yet been tackled by existing fault detection methods. Significant, the paper, also highlights essentialfactors for selecting and adopting fault detection techniques, as well as the characteristics of datasets and theircorresponding recommended techniques. Additionally, the paper presents amethodical overview of fault detectiontechniques employed in smart devices, including themetrics used for evaluation. Furthermore, the paper examinesthe body of academic work related to sensor faults and fault detection techniques within the domain. This reflectsthe growing inclination and scholarly attention of researchers and academicians toward strategies for fault detectionwithin the realm of the Internet of Things.

Improving Badminton Action Recognition Using Spatio-Temporal Analysis and a Weighted Ensemble Learning Model

Incredible progress has been made in human action recognition(HAR),significantly impacting computer vision applications in sports ***,identifying dynamic and complex movements in sports like badminton remains challenging due to the need for precise recognition accuracy and better management of complex motion *** learning techniques like convolutional neural networks(CNNs),long short-term memory(LSTM),and graph convolutional networks(GCNs)improve recognition in large datasets,while the traditional machine learning methods like SVM(support vector machines),RF(random forest),and LR(logistic regression),combined with handcrafted features and ensemble approaches,perform well but struggle with the complexity of fast-paced sports like *** proposed an ensemble learning model combining support vector machines(SVM),logistic regression(LR),random forest(RF),and adaptive boosting(AdaBoost)for badminton action *** data in this study consist of video recordings of badminton stroke techniques,which have been extracted into spatiotemporal *** three-dimensional distance between each skeleton point and the right hip represents the spatial *** temporal features are the results of Fast Dynamic Time Warping(FDTW)calculations applied to 15 frames of each video *** weighted ensemble model employs soft voting classifiers from SVM,LR,RF,and AdaBoost to enhance the accuracy of badminton action *** E2 ensemble model,which combines SVM,LR,and AdaBoost,achieves the highest accuracy of 95.38%.

In order to improve the performance of contemporary and prospective technologies grounded in Network Function Virtualization (NFV), it is imperative to concentrate on identifying the most effective strategies for the placement of Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) within NFV frameworks. Consequently, the objective of this study is to present a viable solution for VNF placement. We delve into the significance of factors such as Storage Latency, CPU Model, and Network Packet Dropped, among others, which necessitate careful consideration. These parameters wield substantial influence over Virtual Machines (VMs) and overall VNF placements. Through the judicious selection of suitable VMs for VNFs, our aim is to improve the placements of VNFs, employing our proposed methodology termed VMFMAX. Our findings reveal that VMFMAX has efficient and less time and resource-consuming calculations compared to previous studies. VMFMAX conspicuously impacts the outcomes of the VNF placement process, underscoring its critical role in achieving more precise and accurate calculations. © 2024 IEEE.
