Machine learning(ML)has been empowering all aspects of the wireless communication system design, among which, the reinforcement learning(RL)-based approaches have attracted a lot of research attention since they can interact with the environment directly and learn from the collected experiences efficiently. In this paper, we propose a novel and efficient RL-based multi-beam combining scheme for future millimeter-wave(mmWave)three-dimensional(3D)multi-input multi-output(MIMO)communication systems. The proposed scheme does not require perfect channel state information(CSI)or precise user location information which both are generally difficult to obtain in practice, and well addresses the crucial challenge of computational complexity incurred by the extremely huge state and action spaces associated with multiple users, multiple paths, and multiple 3D beams. In particular, a self-attention deep deterministic policy gradient(DDPG)-based beam selection and combination framework is proposed to learn the 3D beamforming pattern without CSI adaptively. We aim to maximize the sum-rate of the mmWave 3D-MIMO system by optimizing the serving beam set and the corresponding combining weights for each user. To this end, the transformer is incorporated into the DDPG to obtain the global information of the input elements and capture the signal directions precisely, which leads to a near-optimal beamformer design. Simulation results verify the superiority of the proposed self-attention DDPG over conventional ML-based beamforming schemes in terms of sum-rate under various scenarios.

Perovskite solar cells have shown great potential in the field of underwater solar cells due to their excellent optoelectronic properties;however,their underwater performance and stability still hinder their practical *** this research,a 1H,1H,2H,2H-heptadecafluorodecyl acrylate(HFDA)anti-reflection coating(ARC)was introduced as a high-transparent material for encapsulating perovskite solar modules(PSMs).Optical characterization results revealed that HFDA can effectively reduce reflection of light below 800 nm,aiding in the absorption of light within this wavelength range by underwater solar ***,a remarkable efficiency of 14.65%was achieved even at a water depth of 50 ***,the concentration of Pb^(2+)for HFDA-encapsulated film is significantly reduced from 186 to 16.5 ppb after being immersed in water for 347 ***,the encapsulated PSMs still remained above 80%of their initial efficiency after continuous underwater illumination for 400 ***,being exposed to air,the encapsulated PSMs maintained 94%of their original efficiency after 1000 h light *** highly transparent ARC shows great potentials in enhancing the stability of perovskite devices,applicable not only to underwater cells but also extendable to land-based photovoltaic devices.

Vision sensors are versatile and can capture a wide range of visual cues, such as color, texture, shape, and depth. This versatility, along with the relatively inexpensive availability of machine vision cameras, played an important role in adopting vision-based environment perception systems in autonomous vehicles (AVs). However, vision-based perception systems can be easily affected by glare in the presence of a bright source of light, such as the sun or the headlights of the oncoming vehicle at night or simply by light reflecting off snow or ice-covered surfaces;scenarios encountered frequently during driving. In this paper, we investigate various glare reduction techniques, including the proposed saturated pixel-aware glare reduction technique for improved performance of the computer vision (CV) tasks employed by the perception layer of AVs. We evaluate these glare reduction methods based on various performance metrics of the CV algorithms used by the perception layer. Specifically, we considered object detection, object recognition, object tracking, depth estimation, and lane detection which are crucial for autonomous driving. The experimental findings validate the efficacy of the proposed glare reduction approach, showcasing enhanced performance across diverse perception tasks and remarkable resilience against varying levels of glare.
