Endowing flexible and adaptable fiber devices with light-emitting capabilities has the potential to revolutionize the current design philosophy of intelligent,wearable interactive ***,significant challenges remain in developing fiber devices when it comes to achieving uniform and customizable light effects while utilizing lightweight ***,we introduce a mass-produced,wearable,and interactive photochromic fiber that provides uniform multicolored light *** designed independent waveguides inside the fiber to maintain total internal reflection of light as it traverses the *** impact of excessive light leakage on the overall illuminance can be reduced by utilizing the saturable absorption effect of fluorescent materials to ensure light emission uniformity along the transmission *** addition,we coupled various fluorescent composite materials inside the fiber to achieve artificially controllable spectral radiation of multiple color systems in a single *** prepared fibers on mass-produced kilometer-long using the thermal drawing *** fibers can be directly integrated into daily wearable devices or clothing in various patterns and combined with other signal input components to control and display patterns as *** work provides a new perspective and inspiration to the existing field of fiber display interaction,paving the way for future human–machine integration.

In the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) process, 3D components with complex geometries are fabricated in a layer-by-layer fashion by using a controlled laser beam to selectively melt particular regions of the metal powder bed. However, due to the stochastic nature of the L-PBF process, the top surface roughness of each solidified layer tends to be different even when the optimal processing conditions for the different positions on the build plate are employed. As a result, the mechanical properties of the built components frequently vary from one component to the next. Accordingly, this study proposes an Intelligent Additive Manufacturing Architecture (IAMA) for controlling the surface roughness of each build layer through an appropriate adjustment of the laser re-melting parameters. The IAMA architecture comprises five modules, namely In-Situ Metrology (ISM), Ex-Situ Metrology (ESM), Automatic Virtual Metrology (AVM), Additive Manufacturing Simulation (AMS) and Intelligent Compensator (IC). The feasibility of the proposed architecture is demonstrated by comparing the top surface roughness of cubic and mechanical strengths of tensile test samples built using the proposed method with those built using a traditional L-PBF approach without surface roughness control. It is found that the samples fabricated using the IAMA approach have an average top surface roughness of 1.6μm and a standard deviation is 0.7μm. By contrast, the samples produced using the traditional L-PBF approach have an average surface roughness of 13.45μm and a standard deviation of 2.5μm. In addition, the specimens produced with the assistance of IAMA architecture have an average tensile strength of 1013 MPa with a standard deviation of 69.5 MPa, while those printed without surface roughness control have an average tensile strength of 903 MPa with a standard deviation of 101.4 MPa Note to Practitioners - As L-PBF produce part in a layer-by-layer manner, therefore, the roughness on the top surface of p

This paper considers an online reinforcement learning algorithm that leverages pre-collected data (passive memory) from the environment for online interaction. We show that using passive memory improves performance and further provide theoretical guarantees for regret that turns out to be near-minimax optimal. Results show that the quality of passive memory determines sub-optimality of the incurred regret. The proposed approach and results hold in both continuous and discrete state-action spaces. © 2024, CC BY.

Metaverse seamlessly blends the physical world and virtual spaces through ubiquitous communication and computing equipment and infrastructure. In intelligent transportation systems, the vehicular Metaverse can provide a fully immersive and hyperreal travel experience (e.g., via augmented reality head-up displays, AR-HUDs) to drivers and passengers in autonomous vehicles (AVs) through roadside units (RSUs). However, providing real-time and immersive services requires effective physical-virtual synchronization between AVs and virtual simulators. This paper proposes a generative AI-empowered physical-virtual synchronization framework for the vehicular Metaverse. In physical-to-virtual synchronization, digital twin (DT) tasks generated by AVs are offloaded for execution in RSUs with future route generation. In virtual-to-physical synchronization, virtual simulators customize diverse and personalized AR content via generative AI models based on user preferences. Furthermore, we propose a multi-task enhanced auction-based mechanism to match and price AVs and virtual simulators for RSUs to provide real-time and effective services. Finally, property analysis and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism is strategy-proof and adverse-selection free while increasing social surplus. © 2023 IEEE.

As industrial systems become more complex and interconnected, diagnosing faults accurately and in real time has become increasingly challenging. This paper explores how combining artificial intelligence with digital twin technology can address these challenges. We focus on developing hybrid Artificial intelligence models that leverage diverse data sources to enhance fault detection and diagnosis, enabling secure and distributed diagnostics. Digital twins, virtual models of physical systems, are shown to enhance predictive maintenance and decision-making by providing real-time system insights. What sets our work apart is the way we integrate these technologies to create scalable, adaptive, and context-aware diagnostic solutions. We demonstrate the potential of this approach across applications such as smart grids, manufacturing, and autonomous systems. Our goal is to provide researchers and practitioners with a practical and forward-looking framework for developing intelligent, reliable fault diagnosis systems in today’s data-rich industrial environments. © 2013 IEEE.

In the literature, there are several criteria techniques classified to achieve the point of maximum power tracking (MPPT) in photovoltaic (PV) power systems, such as accuracy, speed, and simplicity. These criteria are often trade-offs;in this case, the higher accuracy generally achieved at the expense of two other criteria: speed and *** contribution proposes a new technique based on the Spline-Global-MPPT approach to provide its reliability in multiple criteria as an accurate, fast, and simple technique to find the MPP of PV power generation systems under two cases, such as uniform irradiance and partial shading conditions (PSCs), in the total distorted characteristics of the PV string. A cubic spline interpolation approach has proposed in this method, which defines from a few simple points an approximate *** localize the GMPP under standard (uniform) irradiance conditions, there are a huge number of interpolation-based approaches proposed in the literature. Unfortunately, this interpolation approach became incapable of detecting the point of the global maximum power (GMPP) under PSCs. The MPP of the system predicted by this new Spline-GMPPT method using a limited sample set of current and voltage, and it maintains this position as long as the external conditions stay unchanged. In the last part, the simulation results prove the reliability and robustness of the proposed approach. © 2023 IEEE.

This article details the design and simulation of a chipless RF temperature sensor featuring a square-shaped tag on a Rogers Ultralam 3850 substrate. The sensor is meticulously designed to resonate at 2.746 GHz, exhibiting a reflection coefficient of −38.54 dB. Its temperature-sensing capabilities span the frequency range of 2.0-3.6 GHz. Employing Nitinol as the sensing material, the sensor responds to temperature-induced deformation, resulting in a discernible shift in the resonant frequency and a concurrent reduction in the reflection coefficient amplitude. This innovative sensor presents a compelling solution for temperature-sensing applications, as evidenced by a calibration curve derived from data, illustrating a consistent linear correlation between temperature and reflection coefficient amplitude. The comprehensive simulation and analysis of the chipless RF sensor were executed using CST Microwave Studio for simulation and CST MPhysics Studio for in-depth analysis.

In the digital age, protecting the security and privacy of sensitive data has become of the utmost importance, particularly while conducting online financial transactions. This paper intends to build an advanced hybrid cryptography model, combining the strengths of the Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithms, to improve the authentication and security procedures of online banking systems. To provide a strong and effective encryption framework, the suggested model makes use of RSA’s asymmetric key advantages and AES’s symmetric key capabilities. Because AES is quick and efficient at encrypting large amounts of data, it is used to optimize performance while encrypting the actual data being transmitted. Meanwhile, RSA is used to solve the problem of key distribution, secure the exchange of symmetric keys, and enable secure communication. The goal of the paper is to create an extensive system that incorporates this improved hybrid cryptography model into the online banking authentication procedure. User authentication, transaction verification, and data secrecy are the system’s three main building blocks. To ensure the viability and feasibility of the suggested paradigm in real-world online banking scenarios, implementation difficulties such as key management, algorithm integration, and performance optimization are addressed. This research advances cryptographic methods of contemporary banking security by utilizing the advantages of AES and RSA in a hybrid approach. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
