Dielectric Strength of Transformer Oil of Various Qualities

This paper focuses on the effects of dielectric strength on transformer oil reliability and on a reproduction of a voltage breakdown simulation during a dielectric strength test. A typical Foster test cell was used in order to measure the dielectric strength of a variety of oils. For a more complete picture, it requires the identification of more parameters but this paper examines only the above one as a result of the operation of a testing apparatus. It is shown that FEM/FDM analysis provides same information for the electrode gap. Bruce electrode provides highly uniform electric field. Factors such as voltage rate, relaxation time between measurements as well as the shape of the testing electrodes influences the dielectric strength of the liquid. © 2021 School of science, IHU. Electricity consumers often face the challenge of selecting an optimal plan for saving energy. Strategic energy management and monitoring plays a key role in overcoming these challenges. Developments around Industry 5.0 powered smart grid proffers adequate solutions which allows end-consumers to monitor their energy performance towards effecting demand side recommendation services. Specific problems where end-users are likely to ignore recommended advice exists, thereby contributing to widening 'knowledge-action gap'. An ensemble of hybrid digital twins (DT) asset modelling based on ordinary differential equation (ODE) physics engine and data driven recurrent neural network (RNN) prediction approach alongside PageRank based asset behavior scoring algorithm deployed for demand side recommender and generative pre-trained transformers (GPT) based conversational chatbot technology show effectiveness in engaging and extending end-consumers interests in recommended advice. The novelty of the study lies in extending current scope of demand side recommender scheme via conversational chatbot interface for DT of electricity grid assets that better engage and monitors end-user's energy behavior while offering appropriate energy efficiency advice towards achieving energy conservation goals of smart grid consumers. Extensive experiments, including evaluation of end-user studies, revealed the effectiveness of proposed approach in terms of improved recommendation quality and user engagement towards net electricity demand reduction. © 2023 IEEE.

Tractor-trailer wheeled robots (TTWRs) have gained significant attention across various industries and control studies due to their complex dynamics and non-minimum phase behavior, which pose substantial control challenges. This study investigates the control of a differentially-driven tractor to follow a specified path under pure rolling conditions in both forward and backward motion. Notably, it has been established that using static feedback linearization (SFL) leads to instability during backward motion. In contrast, this research uses dynamic feedback linearization (DFL), also known as dynamic extension, for controlling the tractor-trailer system in both directions for the first time. Our findings demonstrate that the internal dynamics of the system remain stable in both forward and backward motions, enabling successful adherence to the desired path. © 2024 IEEE.

Modern logistics is facing increasing challenges due to the growing complexity of supply chains, high consumer expectations, and economic and environmental pressures. While predictive analytics, powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and massive data, has transformed the ability to forecast trends and risks, its application remains limited by the lack of effective mechanisms to convert these predictions into actionable decisions in dynamic and constrained environments. This paper proposes an innovative hybrid approach that combines advanced predictive models, notably the Temporal Fusion Transformer (TFT), with prescriptive algorithms, such as linear programming and deep reinforcement learning (DRL). The TFT demonstrated superior performance in terms of predictive accuracy (significant reduction in MAE, RMSE, and MAPE), while the prescriptive algorithms optimized complex logistics decisions in real time, even in uncertain environments. This integrated methodology was validated through use cases simulating critical logistics scenarios, such as delivery route optimization. Experimental results show a substantial improvement in operational efficiency, with reductions in costs, lead times and resource utilization. The prescriptive approach made it possible to automate complex decisions, while taking into account multiple constraints, such as costs, lead times and sustainability objectives. By integrating real-time data collected via IoT devices and logistics management systems, this architecture offers a robust, adaptable and scalable solution. It thus meets the requirements of modern logistics by enabling proactive, optimized and resilient decision-making. This research makes a significant contribution by bridging the gap between predictive and prescriptive analysis, while laying the foundations for new applications in the field of intelligent logistics.

The next evolution of traditional energy systems towards smart grid will require end-consumers to actively participate and make informed decisions regarding their energy usage. Industry 4.0 facilitates such progress by allowing more advanced analytics and creating means for end-consumers and distributed grid assets to be modelled as their Digital twins (DT) equivalents, paving the way for asset-level analytics. Note-worthily, consumers’ comfort is crucial towards promotion of easy adoption of such models from consumers’ perspectives. This study presents the application of hybrid DT and multiagent reinforcement learning models for real-time estimation of end-consumers future energy behaviors while generating actionable recommendation feedback for improving their energy efficiency and enhancing end-user comfort. © 2023 IEEE European Union.

Cellular microscopy is enhanced by computational paradigms such as image processing, computer vision, and machine learning. Image segmentation is vital for quantifying cell images, enabling tracking and subsequent applications. Superpixel algorithms offer a promising solution to challenges in phase contrast image segmentation, as they group pixels with similar characteristics into meaningful regions. By preserving essential structural information and reducing complexity, superpixels improve accuracy in cell-related measurements and facilitate the study of dynamic cellular processes. This paper presents a comparison of popular superpixel algorithms applied to cellular microscopy, highlighting their contributions to image analysis and interpretation in cell biology research. © 2023 IEEE.

Swarm of UAVs (S-UAVs) refers to an assembly of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) working together to accomplish prearranged missions. In emergency scenarios, such as a fire, any UAV is susceptible to damage. Among the routing algorithms that S-UAVs utilize the most frequently is clustering, where UAVs are divided into clusters. Each cluster consists of a cluster head (CH) and cluster members (CM). The selection of the CH is a topic of continuous research because of its crucial significance in inter-cluster communication. We propose a clustered weighted method with dynamic weight modification and redundancy to ensure end-to-end communication despite non-functional CH. Interspace, speed, and performance indicators are combined into a weighted metric that is used to select the CH, redundant CHs, and CMs. The suggested technique optimizes UAV role selection by dynamically and autonomously adjusting the weights. Based on the results of the executed simulation, this is a promising strategy that minimizes data loss in an emergency situation and minimizes delay.

Backdoor attacks can mislead deep bug search models by exploring model-sensitive assembly code, which can change alerts to benign results and cause buggy binaries to enter production environments. But assembly instructions have strict constraints and dependencies, and these additional model-sensitive assembly codes destroy semantics and syntax and are easily detected by dynamic analysis or context-based detection. To escape from the dynamic analysis-based detection, we propose a novel latent backdoor attack (LateBA) scheme based on the locality principle of program execution, which only poisons a few of infrequent execution codes, minimizing the effects on the original code logic. In LateBA, a progressive seed mutating strategy is designated to change the American Fuzzy Lop (AFL)-based path search tool to pay more attention to infrequent execution codes. With this strategy, the optimal range to positions in the whole program is determined. Subsequently, triggers are target model-sensitive assembly instructions, and try to minimize the variables that have been called in the context instructions in the trigger. Finally, we employ code semantic feature comparisons to select precise trigger injection positions within these ranges. The selection criteria of the trigger injection position is whether the corresponding code segments in this position have a data dependency relationship with other code segments. We evaluate the performance of LateBA over 7 deep bug search tasks. The results demonstrate the attack success rate of the proposed LateBA is considerable and competitive against the baselines. © 2024 Owner/Author.
