In this paper,we introduce an innovative method for computer-aided design(CAD)segmentation by concatenating meshes and CAD *** previous CAD segmentation methods have achieved impressive performance using single representations,such as meshes,CAD,and point ***,existing methods cannot effectively combine different three-dimensional model types for the direct conversion,alignment,and integrity maintenance of geometric and topological ***,we propose an integration approach that combines the geometric accuracy of CAD data with the flexibility of mesh representations,as well as introduce a unique hybrid representation that combines CAD and mesh models to enhance segmentation *** combine these two model types,our hybrid system utilizes advanced-neural-network techniques to convert CAD models into mesh *** complex CAD models,model segmentation is crucial for model retrieval and *** partial retrieval,it aims to segment a complex CAD model into several simple *** first component of our hybrid system involves advanced mesh-labeling algorithms that harness the digitization of CAD properties to mesh *** second component integrates labelled face features for CAD segmentation by leveraging the abundant multisemantic information embedded in CAD *** combination of mesh and CAD not only refines the accuracy of boundary delineation but also provides a comprehensive understanding of the underlying object *** study uses the Fusion 360 Gallery *** results indicate that our hybrid method can segment these models with higher accuracy than other methods that use single representations.

Data analytics have had a significant impact on tactical and workload planning in football. Football data is divided into two categories: event data, which captures on-the-ball events like passes and shots, and tracking data, which captures off-the-ball movements. However, traditional methods of collecting tracking data are expensive and inconvenient. Recently, AI solutions have emerged as low-cost and user-friendly alternatives to track players' movements from video streams. This paper introduces FOOTBALLTrace, an end-to-end AI system for tracking multiple football players from a panoramic game view. The system also incorporates a novel algorithm that detects potential occlusion events and ensures trajectory continuity for occluded players. The workflow involves five stages: panoramic view creation, player detection, player ID association, occlusion detection, and trajectory correction. The system utilizes YOLOv7 for multiple object detection and employs a pre-trained deep affinity network to assign unique IDs to players throughout the game. Occlusion detection and trajectory correction are achieved by extracting geometric features from discontinuous player trajectories. The system's performance was evaluated on full-length video data of a football game, with occlusion events manually extracted for training and testing the occlusion detection and trajectory correction algorithm. With technologies that have democratized the production and reproduction of information, a significant portion of daily interacted posts in social media has been infected by rumors. Despite the extensive research on rumor detection and verification, so far, the problem of calculating the spread power of rumors has not been considered. To address this research gap, the present study seeks a model to calculate the Spread Power of Rumor (SPR) as the function of content-based features in two categories: False Rumor (FR) and True Rumor (TR). For this purpose, the theory of Allport and Postman will be adopted, which it claims that importance and ambiguity are the key variables in rumor-mongering and the power of rumor. Totally 42 content features in two categories "importance" (28 features) and "ambiguity" (14 features) are introduced to compute SPR. The proposed model is evaluated on two datasets, Twitter and Telegram. The results showed that (i) the spread power of False Rumor documents is rarely more than True Rumors. (ii) there is a significant difference between the SPR means of two groups False Rumor and True Rumor. (iii) SPR as a criterion can have a positive impact on distinguishing False Rumors and True Rumors. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

In the wake of disasters, rapid and efficient search and rescue operations are essential. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become instrumental in such scenarios, providing real-time video streaming that can be used for object detection to locate survivors. This technology, however, faces significant challenges due to the limited communication and onboard computational resources, which are critical for processing and transmitting high-quality video data. To address these issues, this paper proposes a novel approach that leverages the concept of the value of information (VoI) to optimize the trade-off between the accuracy of object detection and the associated communication costs. By dynamically adjusting the video stream’s quality, the proposed system aims to ensure that the most valuable information is transmitted within the constraints of bandwidth and computational power. To operationalize this concept, we introduce a Deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithm that employs the soft actor-critic (SAC) method. The algorithm benefits from the integration of object features and contextual information extracted by ResNet50, which is then processed through a cross-attention structure within the critic network. Our simulation results indicate that our approach significantly enhances the VoI, achieving higher accuracy in object detection with better resource management compared to traditional strategies. © 2019 IEEE.

Crisis management is preparing for and managing possible crises that may impact organizations and individuals at different levels. It involves effective communication, quick decision-making, and strategic planning to minimize the negative impact of a crisis and ensure swift recovery. It plays a vital role in healthcare systems, especially in virus outbreaks. Its role is to monitor and manage the spread of viruses. Moreover, it can use Machine Learning (ML) techniques to achieve this goal. This paper discusses how to apply ML approaches to daily reports of infection cases. The adopted ML approaches are Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model and the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model. Furthermore, it uses Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) as a performance measure to evaluate the applied models. Simulation results show that ARIMA model performs better as compared to other models, which can provide a prediction accuracy of more than 99%. © 2024 IEEE.

Computing Riemann zeros with light scattering

Finding hidden order within disorder is a common interest in material science, wave physics, and mathematics. The Riemann hypothesis, stating the locations of nontrivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function, tentatively characterizes statistical order in the seemingly random distribution of prime numbers. This famous conjecture has inspired various connections with different branches of physics, recently with non-Hermitian physics, quantum field theory, trapped-ion qubits, and hyperuniformity. Here we develop the computing platform for the Riemann zeta function by employing classical scattering of light. We show that the Riemann hypothesis suggests the landscape of semi-infinite optical scatterers for the perfect reflectionless condition under the Born approximation. To examine the validity of the scattering-based computation, we investigate the asymptotic behaviors of suppressed reflections with the increasing number of scatterers and the emergence of multiple scattering. The result provides another bridge between classical physics and the Riemann zeros, exhibiting the design of wave devices inspired by number theory.

Programmable Photonic Time Circuits for Highly Scalable Universal Unitaries

Programmable photonic circuits (PPCs) have garnered substantial interest for their potential in facilitating deep learning accelerations and universal quantum computations. Although photonic computation using PPCs offers ultrafast operation, energy-efficient matrix calculations, and room-temperature quantum states, its poor scalability hinders integration. This challenge arises from the temporally one-shot operation of propagating light in conventional PPCs, resulting in a light-speed increase in device footprints. Here we propose the concept of programmable photonic time circuits, utilizing time-cycle-based computations analogous to gate cycling in the von Neumann architecture and quantum computation. Our building block is a reconfigurable SU(2) time gate, consisting of two resonators with tunable resonances, and coupled via time-coded dual-channel gauge fields. We demonstrate universal U(N) operations with high fidelity using an assembly of the SU(2) time gates, substantially improving scalability from O(N2) to O(N) in terms of both the footprint and the number of gates. This result paves the way for PPC implementation in very large-scale integration.
