A provable-secure and practical two-party distributed signing protocol for SM2 signature algorithm

Mobile devices are widely used for data access,communications and ***,storing a private key for signature and other cryptographic usage on a single mobile device can be challenging,due to its computational ***,a number of(t,n)threshold secret sharing schemes designed to minimize private key from leakage have been proposed in the ***,existing schemes generally suffer from key reconstruction *** this paper,we propose an efficient and secure two-party distributed signing protocol for the SM2 signature *** latter has been mandated by the Chinese government for all electronic commerce *** proposed protocol separates the private key to storage on two devices and can generate a valid signature without the need to reconstruct the entire private *** prove that our protocol is secure under nonstandard ***,we implement our protocol using MIRACL Cryptographic SDK to demonstrate that the protocol can be deployed in practice to prevent key disclosure.

Nowadays, Java has been extensively used in industries as a reliable and portable object-oriented programming (OOP) language. To support novice students in learning Java programming, we have developed a web-based system called Java Programming Learning Assistant System (JPLAS). JPLAS offers the Code Writing Problem (CWP) among several types of exercise problems. A CWP instance requests a student to write a source code that will pass the provided test code in the assignment where the accuracy of the code is verified by running them on JUnit. In Java programming, every student should master basic OOP concepts, which can be challenging for novice students. This paper presents CWP instances for studying six basic OOP concepts including encapsulation, polymorphism, constructor, inheritance, abstract, and interface in JPLAS. Our preliminary evaluations of them confirm their validity.

Distributed Prescribed-Time Observer for Nonlinear systems in Block-Triangular Form

This paper proposes a distributed prescribed-time observer for nonlinear systems representable in a block-triangular observable canonical form. Using a weighted average of neighbor estimates exchanged over a strongly connected digraph, each observer estimates the system state despite the limited observability of local sensor measurements. The proposed design guarantees that distributed state estimation errors converge to zero at a user-specified convergence time, irrespective of observers’ initial conditions. To achieve this prescribed-time convergence, distributed observers implement time-varying local output injection gains that monotonically increase and approach infinity at the prescribed time. The theoretical convergence is rigorously proven and validated through numerical simulations, where some implementation issues due to increasing gains have also been clarified. Backdoor-Empowered Regulable Privilege Authorization for Edge-Level Graph Learning in 6G Vehicular Networks

Edge-Level Graph Learning System (EGLS) exhibits diverse applicability in flow prediction, route planning, and accident forecasting. Existing EGLS studies extremely stress absolute fairness and impartiality for all users, resultantly depriving its flexibility and humanity in addressing special circumstances and rendering the privilege authorization for exceptional responses challenging to achieve. To address this limitation, we present BackPriv, the first privilege authorization methodology enabling regulable privilege assignment or revocation in EGLS. Specifically, it is achieved through a creative edge backdoor mechanism, wherein the edge training samples are poisoned via user-specific privilege tokens to induce privilege outputs from the well-trained EGLS for authorized users. Moreover, related EGLS regulating strategies were proposed to dynamically realize the addition and revocation of user privileges by system retraining to guarantee privilege control in EGLS. Additionally, a Graph Mutual Information-based adaptive privilege token generation method is introduced to reduce the impact of privilege authorization on normal inputs and augment authorization functionality. Based on experiments with multiple real-world datasets, BackPriv demonstrates high success rates of privilege authorization under various scenarios ( 100%) and exerts minimal impact on normal task performance for regular inputs (mean accuracy drop 0.32%). © 1975-2011 IEEE.

With the rapid advancement of technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, video surveillance—being a core component of video IoT systems—has been widely adopted for underground coal mine safety monitoring. However, the dim lighting and heavy coal dust in underground mines result in poor visibility and significant detail loss in monitoring images, posing a major challenge to coal mine safety management. To address these issues, we propose a low-light image enhancement method tailored for underground coal mine environments, based on *** our method, traditional convolutions are replaced with Ghost modules to reduce computational cost while maintaining feature extraction ***,we incorporate global context blocks and a Vision Transformer branch to integrate more global information into the ***, the global context blocks improve the model’s ability to correct uneven illumination and prevent ***, the Vision Transformer branch captures long-range dependencies and fuses local and global features to enhance brightness while mitigating color ***, we replace the original quadratic iterative function with a reciprocal illumination mapping function,enabling more stable and perceptually aligned brightness *** results on the coal mine underground personnel dataset demonstrate that our method outperforms several state-of-the-art low-light enhancement techniques, achieving superior results in both qualitative and quantitative *** findings indicate that our approach significantly improves the visibility and overall quality of underground coal mine monitoring images. © 2014 IEEE.

Memristor-based crossbar architectures have proven highly effective for matrix vector multiplication (MVM) operations, making them a promising solution for accelerating the MVMs widely used in precoding algorithms for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) wireless communication systems. However, real-world implementation of memristor-based computing systems face challenges due to commonly observed non-idealities in both the devices themselves and the circuits they’re built into. To facilitate a rapid design flow and investigate the impact of non-idealities, an integrated open-source simulation framework MemMIMO is developed. The simulation framework estimates the accuracy and hardware performance of the computing system, offering a variety of flexible design options. MemMIMO integrates a behavioral model of the mix-signal architecture with a digital front-end. There are three major building blocks in MemMIMO: the device fitting block, the mapping block, and the performance estimation block. These blocks work together to map the complex MVMs in precoding algorithms for MIMO systems to crossbar-based architectures that incorporate memristor models characterized by physical device behavior. Using two typical use cases targeting six-generation (6G) massive MIMO communication as case studies, MemMIMO is used to model different memristor devices, explore the impact of non-idealities on system accuracy, and benchmark circuit-level performance metrics including area, speed, and power. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

Inerter-based Elastic Metamaterials for Band Gap at Extremely Low Frequency

We reveal the unique and fundamental advantage of inerter-based elastic metamaterials by a comparative study among different configurations. When the embedded inerter is connected to the matrix material on both ends, the metamaterial shows definite superiority in forming a band gap in the ultra-low frequency - equivalently the ultra-long wavelength - regime, where the unit cell size can be four or more orders of magnitude smaller than the operating wavelength. In addition, our parametric studies in both one and two dimensions pave the way towards designing next-generation metamaterials for structural vibration mitigation. © 2022, CC BY.

Learning For Predictive Control: A Dual Gaussian Process Approach

An important issue in model-based control design is that an accurate dynamic model of the system is generally nonlinear, complex, and costly to obtain. This limits achievable control performance in practice. Gaussian process (GP) based estimation of system models is an effective tool to learn unknown dynamics directly from input/output data. However, conventional GP-based control methods often ignore the computational cost associated with accumulating data during the operation of the system and how to handle forgetting in continuous adaption. In this paper, we present a novel Dual Gaussian Process (DGP) based model predictive control (MPC) strategy that enables efficient use of online learning based predictive control without the danger of catastrophic forgetting. The bio-inspired DGP structure is a combination of a long-term GP and a short-term GP, where the long-term GP is used to keep the learned knowledge in memory and the short-term GP is employed to rapidly compensate unknown dynamics during online operation. Furthermore, a novel recursive online update strategy for the short-term GP is proposed to successively improve the learnt model during online operation. As an important application of optical manipulation, orbital rotation of nanoparticles in optical beams can find uses in constructing micro-motors/micro-machines and the measurement of physical quantity. Here, we report an intriguing orbital rotation of nanoparticles in focused circularly-polarized Gaussian beams at the wavelength scale. Through the transverse scattering forces, off-axis trapping of nanoparticles becomes possible in the off-focal plane, allowing us to create a rotation orbit with a small radius. During the focusing of the incident circularly-polarized Gaussian beam, the spin angular momentum is converted to the orbital angular momentum that drives the particle’s orbital rotation. While gold nanoparticles always show rotation direction that is identical with that of the angular energy flux density under the dipole approximation, high-refractive index silicon nanoparticles can exhibit an opposite rotation direction. This directional inversion is due to the coupling between induced electric and magnetic dipoles in the dielectric particles. By adjusting the particle size and the position of the off-focus plane, the rotation radius and speed can be tuned. This microscale orbital rotation scheme here may advance the development of micro-motor/micro-machines and the investigation of micro-rheology. Our theoretical analysis also sheds what we believe to be new light to the particle dynamics in optical tweezers.

Providing enhanced quality of service (QoS) to support demanding applications in the most energy-efficient way has been identified as a primary objective of future 6G networks. Towards this direction, the concept of programmable wireless environments (PWEs) has emerged, wherein extremely high QoS can be ensured by controlling the wireless propagation through reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS). To meet the demands of 6G networks in terms of energy efficiency, in this paper, zero-energy RISs (ZERISs) are introduced, which harvest the required amount of energy for their operation and then contribute to the PWE conversion. More specifically, we investigate the performance of a ZERIS-assisted communication system in terms of joint energy-data rate outage probability, which quantifies the trade-off between the harvested energy and information transmission, for three distinct simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) methods are investigated, namely power splitting, time switching, and element splitting. Finally, simulation results validate the derived analysis, leading to useful insights for the ZERIS-assisted network regarding which energy harvesting method achieves better performance in terms of joint energy-data rate outage probability.
