This study examines the efficacy of a deep learning-based binaural speech reproduction system via headphones that integrates real-time head tracking to simulate a stable speech source in a virtual environment. We developed a binaural speech reproduction system that operates in real time using a custom head-tracking device based on the Arduino platform and a pre-trained neural network model for binaural speech synthesis. The system dynamically adapts audio output based on the head orientation of the listener, operating with an overall latency of 70 ms on standard computing hardware. We conducted a subjective speech localization task with 15 young, normal-hearing participants. Initial results showed a 40% accuracy in localizing a static speech source, which significantly improved with dynamic head movements. Participants reported minimal dizziness and distortion, indicating good tolerability and sound quality. Despite some limitations, such as non-personalized settings and perceivable latency, the findings demonstrate the potential of deep learning approaches to enhance realism in virtual auditory environments. This study proposes a hybrid deep learning approach to address the complexity and dynamic characteristics of modern network environments. The research integrates Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and Convolutional Long and Short-Term Memory (ConvLSTM) networks to predict future network traffic and detect cyberattacks. The model was trained and evaluated on the CICIDS 2018 dataset which includes various types of normal and malicious traffic. Grid-based representations were created from the dataset. The attack type of each timestamp were visualized using distinct colors to the grid images. These images are sued as input of ConvLSTM model. Protocol and destination port are modeled as nodes in a graph, with volume of data flow represented as weighted edges. This graph-based representation is designed to capture unique traffic patterns of specific services and enhance the analysis of spatial and temporal features. Experimental results show a 13% increase in macro F1 score and a 4% increase in weighted F1 score, highlighting the effectiveness of the proposed method. This research highlights its potential to enable proactive responses through the prediction of potential cyberattack occurrences. © 2025 IEEE.

In this article, we consider the problem of developing a computational model for emulating an RF channel. The motivation for this is that an accurate and scalable emulator has the potential to minimize the need for field testing, which is expensive, slow, and difficult to replicate. Traditionally, emulators are built using a tapped delay line (TDL) model where long filters modeling the physical interactions of objects are implemented directly. For an emulation scenario consisting of M objects all interacting with one another, the TDL model's computational requirements scale as O(M3) per sample: there are O(M2) channels, each with O(M) complexity. In this article, we develop a new "direct path"model that, while remaining physically faithful, allows us to carefully factor the emulator operations, resulting in an O(M2) per-sample scaling of the computational requirements. The impact of this is drastic, a 200-object scenario sees about a 100× reduction in the number of per-sample computations. Furthermore, the direct path model gives us a natural way to distribute the computations for an emulation: each object is mapped to a computational node, and these nodes are networked in a fully connected communication graph. Alongside a discussion of the model and the physical phenomena it emulates, we show how to efficiently parameterize antenna responses and scattering profiles within this direct path framework. To verify the model and demonstrate its viability in hardware, we provide several numerical experiments produced using a cycle-level C++ simulator of a hardware implementation of the model. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes a novel strategy to address the difficulties encountered in Botswana's open-pit mine dewatering procedures. The conventional approach, which relies on labor-intensive manual labor and mechanical switching, is expensive, time-consuming, and present significant safety hazards. To overcome these limitations, this project proposes a multi-sensor network system that automates and optimizes the dewatering process and improve operational efficiency. The system integrates real-time sensor data to monitor fuel consumption and water levels in mining pits, enabling precise pump operation control. The system has two sets of sensors for data collection on fuel levels in the reserve and dewatering pump tank. Water level sensors are also used to monitor the water levels in the tank and turn the pump on or off based on predetermined thresholds. After receiving the sensor data, a microcontroller controls the entire process and shows the fuel levels and consumption on an LCD screen. The system's circuitry was designed and simulated using Proteus software, and the LCD successfully displayed measurements obtained from the sensors. When the sump level surpassed the predetermined threshold, a relay was energized to initiate the motor, thereby pumping out the water. Similarly, the tank level sensor (LV800) detected water levels exceeding 80% capacity, sending a signal to the microcontroller, which, in turn, energized the relay to activate the stage motor. The LCD also displayed readings from the temperature and current sensors. Simulation results indicate that the proposed sensor-based approach effectively monitors the condition of the pumps. At the same time, the microcontroller, in conjunction with the sensors, can adequately control the pump's operation during the dewatering process in the mining pit. This research demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of employing sensors and a microcontroller in managing and controlling dewatering pumps. By automating the

We introduce a novel differentially private algorithm for online federated learning that employs temporally correlated noise to enhance utility while ensuring privacy of continuously released models. To address challenges posed by DP noise and local updates with streaming non-iid data, we develop a perturbed iterate analysis to control the impact of the DP noise on the utility. Moreover, we demonstrate how the drift errors from local updates can be effectively managed under a quasi-strong convexity condition. Subject to an (, δ) DP budget, we establish a dynamic regret bound over the entire time horizon, quantifying the impact of key parameters and the intensity of changes in dynamic environments. Numerical experiments confirm the efficacy of the proposed algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

Various training-based spatial filtering methods have been proposed to classify steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP)-based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). However, many overlook the temporal instability of SSVEPs, leading to decreased classification performance. Therefore, we propose an SSVEP decoding method that calculates template signals and spatial filters using the subject's impulse responses and periodic impulses, incorporating the temporally local correlation coefficient in the SSVEP decoding process. Then, we employ a combined correlation coefficient for SSVEP classification. The proposed method addresses the temporal instability of SSVEPs, with template signals that exhibit strong individual characteristics. Utilizing a public benchmark dataset, we achieved a classification accuracy of 87.43% and an ITR of 256.1 bits/min at 1s time window, demonstrating the performance of this method. Compared to other classical spatial filtering methods, the proposed method demonstrates superior classification performance, which can enhance the practical usability of SSVEP-BCI systems. © VDE VERLAG GMBH.

We introduce a simple geometry for slow-wave structures (SWSs) in sheet-beam traveling-wave tubes (TWTs). The staggered microstrip grating SWS is a space harmonic structure with geometry and bandwidth with analogous to the staggered vane SWS commonly used for sheet beam TWTs. The staggered microstrip grating TWT is designed to operate in V-band with a center frequency of 74 GHz and electron beam voltage of 20 kV. © 2024 IEEE.
