One big change that has happened in differential equations is the use of new computer methods to solve hard problems. The growth of differential equations has been helped by this effect. If these strategies hadn't been used during the process, there would have been no change at all. In this abstract, neural networks and adaptive differential equation solvers are used together. This is one of the new ideas being looked into within the limits of this abstract. You can't use any other way to solve this type of dynamic net ODE. There isn't any other good answer. For people who want to understand how the process works, this outline also includes a description of the method. The goal of this study is to show that the suggested plan is better than other methods by looking at six different ways. The point of this study is to show why the suggested approach is better. The similarity that was just shown is one example of how speed has gotten better.

We propose and analyze the performance of terahertz (THz) room-temperature bolometric detectors based on the graphene channel field-effect transistors (GC-FET). These detectors comprise the gate barrier layer (BL) composed of the lateral hexagonal-Boron Nitride black-Phosphorus/ hexagonal-Boron Nitride (h-BN/b-P/h-BN) structure. The main part of the GC is encapsulated in h-BN, whereas a short section of the GC is sandwiched between the b-P gate BL and the h-BN bottom layer. The b-P gate BL serves as the window for the electron thermionic current from the GC. The electron mobility in the GC section encapsulated in h-BN can be fairly large. This might enable a strong resonant plasmonic response of the GC-FET detectors despite relatively lower electron mobility in the GC section covered by the b-P window BL. The narrow b-P window diminishes the Peltier cooling and enhances the detector performance. The proposed device structure and its operation principle promote elevated values of the room-temperature GC-FET THz detector responsivity and other characteristics, especially at the plasmonic resonances. © 2023, CC BY.

Gallium oxide (Ga₂O₃), which is one among the ultra-wide band gap materials, is promising for the next generation of electronic and optoelectronic devices due to its fascinating material properties for utilization in extreme environments. In this work, Ga₂O₃ films containing refractory tungsten (W) (GWO or Ga-W-O) were fabricated via pulsed laser deposition (PLD) by varying the oxygen partial pressure (pO₂), which is the most important thermodynamic parameter that governs the growth, structure and properties of the resulting multi-component oxide films. The effect of variable pO₂ on the structure, surface chemistry, chemical bonding, optical properties and photodetector device performance of the resulting Ga-W-O films was studied using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy measurements. The films containing Ga₂O₃ combined with W exhibited no secondary phase development. The impact of W on the chemical and optical characteristics of Ga₂O₃ films was found to be substantial. W⁵⁺ formation is prevalent when the adatom mobility is high at lower working pressure, whereas lower migration energy favors W⁶⁺ at higher working pressure. In contrast, the valance band maxima (VBM) of the films have a minor shift to higher energies with increasing pO₂, confirming the dominance of O 2p states on VBM in PLD GWO films. Additionally, there is not much change in the optical band gap, but it shows a slight blue shift of the luminescence peak, directing a selective W incorporation into the Ga₂O₃ matrix. The processing conditions were optimized to demonstrate the excellent performance UV-photodetectors based on PLD GWO films. To quantify the forest effects on P-band radar remote sensing, this paper utilizes the fast hybrid method (FHM) combining fast multiple scattering theory (FMST) and a numerical electromagnetic solution. Considering estimation of the domain area, the required number of trees for P-band signal analysis is 121. For the efficient scattering solutions of a large number of trees, the FHM uses the triple FFT applied to the Foldy-Lax equation where two FFTs are applied to a 2-D spatial domain and one FFT to the order of cylindrical waves corresponding to translation addition theorem. This speeds up calculation of a translation addition matrix multiplied by a column vector. The accuracy of FHM is validated by FEKO using 25 trees, showing excellent agreement. Also, FHM provides faster solutions than commercial software. Using dielectric constants of winter and summer conditions, forest effects in P-band signals are validated by calculating transmissivity.

Today, strong development of socio-economic has promoted participation in traffic. As a result, traffic management is becoming more and more difficult. To effectively solve the problem, artificial intelligence (AI) applications are applied for the improvement of urban traffic management and administration. Therefore, we propose an intelligent algorithm for monitoring and detecting vehicles. We use data collected from cameras and apply deep learning technology to track objects in the paper. The proposed algorithm uses YOLOv4 combined with DeepSORT for tracking and calculating the speed of detected vehicles. Results show that the proposed algorithm improves accuracy up to 95% which is suitable to apply for real applications. © 2022 IEEE.

Federated learning (FL) is an emerging distributed training scheme where edge devices collaboratively train a model by uploading model updates instead of private data. To address the communication bottleneck, over-the-air (OTA) computation has been introduced to FL, which allows multiple edge devices to upload their gradient updates concurrently for aggregation. However, OTA computation is plagued by the communication error, which is critically affected by the device selection policy and impacts the performance of the output model. In this paper, we propose a probabilistic device selection scheme PO-FL, which effectively enhances the convergence performance of over-the-air FL. Specifically, each device is selected for OTA computation according to the predetermined probability, and its local update is scaled by this probability. By analyzing the convergence of PO-FL, we show that its convergence is determined by the device selection via the communication error and the variance of global update. Then, we propose a device selection algorithm that jointly considers the channel condition and gradient update importance of edge devices to optimize their selection probabilities. The experimental results on the MNIST dataset demonstrate that the proposed algorithm converges faster and learns better models than the baselines.

Mitigation strategies for voltage sag in power systems using dynamic voltage restorers (DVRs) involve compensating for voltage dips by injecting the required voltage to maintain stability. However, DVRs present problems such as high initial costs in installation and subsequent costs in maintenance and replacement; it only corrects voltage sag within its capability to handle severe or long periods of voltage sags. Moreover, DVRs may need complex control algorithms and most accurate tuning for optimal performance under various grid conditions. To overcome these drawbacks, this manuscript proposes a hybrid approach for voltage sag mitigation in power systems with Proportional Integral (PI) controller. The proposed method is the combined execution of both Tangent Search Algorithm (TSA) and Multi-fidelity Bayesian Neural Network (MFBNN). Hence, it is named as hybrid TSA-MFBNN approach. The major aim is to minimize the impact of voltage sags on sensitive equipment and maintain consistent power quality across the network and reduce the integral squared error (ISE) and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the system. The PI controller’s gain parameters are optimized by the proposed TSA, and its optimum values are predicted by the MFBNN. By then, the proposed technique is executed in MATLAB and compared with different existing approaches. The proposed method outperforms all existing approaches such as Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA), and Adaptive-Network Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). The proposed technique demonstrates a THD of 2.38% and an ISE of 0.00410, indicating superior performance in reducing harmonic distortions and minimizing error.

Maritime authorities (MA) must track fishing vessels to ensure that fishing activities are limited to permitted areas. If illegal fishing is suspected, resources must be allocated to intercept and inspect the vessels. Thus, a false flag by the MA is costly, so it is important to use accurate detection methods. We compare the accuracy and computational time of the main approaches for detecting fishing activities described in the literature, using the Global Fishing Watch (GFW) dataset. We find that Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural networks achieves an optimal accuracy of 1.00, while the random forest approach comes second with an accuracy of 0.87. Given the high cost of mistakes for MA, we conclude that the LSTM's high computational cost is worthwhile.

Policy gradient (PG) gives rise to a rich class of reinforcement learning (RL) methods. Recently, there has been an emerging trend to accelerate the existing PG methods such as REINFORCE by the variance reduction techniques. However, all existing variance-reduced PG methods heavily rely on an uncheckable importance weight assumption made for every single iteration of the algorithms. In this paper, a simple gradient truncation mechanism is proposed to address this issue. Moreover, we design a Truncated Stochastic Incremental Variance-Reduced Policy Gradient (TSIVR-PG) method, which is able to maximize not only a cumulative sum of rewards but also a general utility function over a policy's long-term visiting distribution. We show an Õ(ϵ−3) sample complexity for TSIVR-PG to find an ϵ-stationary policy. By assuming the overparameterizaiton of policy and exploiting the hidden convexity of the problem, we further show that TSIVR-PG converges to global ϵ-optimal policy with Õ(ϵ−2) samples. © 2021, CC BY.

While the $$H_\infty $$ observer-based control has found widespread application in the literature for integer-order systems, researchers have shown less interest in addressing the same issue within the fractional-order framework. In this context, this study delves into the application of $$H_\infty $$ observer-based control for the Hadamard fractional-order system (HFOS) described by the Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy models (TSFM). Using Lyapunov approach and by employing a matrix decoupling technique, LMI based conditions ensuring the existence of an observer and controller, are proposed. To minimize the impact of disturbances on the controlled output, $$H_\infty $$ optimization technique is used. The validity of our approach is substantiated through an example, underscoring the robustness and reliability of our proposed findings.
