Emotion recognition has sparked the interest of researchers from a variety of disciplines. Studies have demonstrated that brain signals may be utilized to characterize a wide range of emotional states. Electroencephalogram (EEG) measures the cerebral activity. Therefore, by exploiting the EEG signals the emotion states can be determined. In this study the EEG signals undergoes through filtering, segmentation, Wavelet Packet Decomposition (WPD), feature mining, and classification. The machine learning algorithms used for classifications are 'Decision Tree' (DT), 'Support Vector Machine' (SVM), and K-Nearest Neighbor' (K-NN) algorithms are used for categorization. Their performance is compared for automatically identifying the emotion state. It is determined that the best performer is SVM. It has attained 98.2% accuracy, 97.3% precision, 97.3% recall, 98.7% specificity, 97.3% F1, 97.3% kappa, and 99.3% AUC. © 2023 IEEE.

In realistic distributed optimization scenarios, individual nodes possess only partial information and communicate over bandwidth constrained channels. For this reason, the development of efficient distributed algorithms is essential. In our paper we addresses the challenge of unconstrained distributed optimization. In our scenario each node's local function exhibits strong convexity with Lipschitz continuous gradients. The exchange of information between nodes occurs through 3-bit bandwidth-limited channels (i.e., nodes exchange messages represented by a only 3 -bits). Our proposed algorithm respects the network's bandwidth constraints by leveraging zoom-in and zoom-out operations to adjust quantizer parameters dynamically. We show that during our algorithm's operation nodes are able to converge to the exact optimal solution. Furthermore, we show that our algorithm achieves a linear convergence rate to the optimal solution. We conclude the paper with simulations that highlight our algorithm's unique characteristics. © 2024 IEEE.

During the COVID19 epidemic, people of all ages from all walks of life around the world have become inevitably familiar with and almost dependent on the digital tools of the age and the opportunities they offer. A change had to take place very quickly that was unprecedented. This process has also affected education. During the time of the reading lock-in, there was a proliferation of digital curricular content. The second time around, online education came to the fore, thanks to less or well-functioning online platforms, and has since become part of everyday teaching. What is the effectiveness and usefulness of sharing knowledge in this way? Is literacy still needed at all? Can online and hybrid (a controlled mix of face-to-face and online) education replace the well-established contact and face-to-face education? The study show that the respondents believe that online education has had an impact on literacy and that it is perceived to have a positive impact. The results indicate that online education has a positive impact on the literacy levels of students, as it facilitates knowledge acquisition and enhances digital literacy skills. © 2024 IEEE.

The use of Artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the content creation to produce creative aspects like editing, audience analysis, creating ideas, writing copy, etc. The major aim is to streamline and automate the process of content creation and convert it into a more efficient and effective way. There is a lack of transparency in the AI content production process and hence it does not exactly mimic human activities, which includes fantasizing and picking up new abilities. AI content creation requires more creativity while investigating with a specific goal in mind. Although, AI faces many challenges since it constantly expands its base knowledge. One of the biggest ethical problems is the probability that AI content is used to deceive or influence people. Hence, to overcome these difficulties a machine learning-based Artificial Intelligent content creation framework is generated for content creation in Ad-supported TV. Here, an effective model Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) introduced to deliver enterprise data, customize descriptions, and adjust content based on consumer behaviors. This developed model produces material that is closely related to the preferences of the user. AI content creation increases efficiency and productivity by saving time and money. It also leads to the development of better content. Finally, the experimental analysis is performed to find the effectiveness of the developed deep learning-based AI content creation framework via various metrics. © 2024 IEEE.

Manual design of deep networks require numerous trials and parameter tuning, resulting in inefficient utilization of time, energy, and resources. In this article, we present a neural architecture search (NAS) algorithm - AutoDehaze, to automatically discover effective neural network for single image dehazing. The proposed AutoDehaze algorithm is built on the gradient-based search strategy and hierarchical network-level optimization. We construct a set of search space layouts to reduce memory consumption, avoid the NAS collapse issue, and considerably accelerate the search speed. We propose four search spaces AutoDehaze B, AutoDehaze U1, AutoDehaze U2, and AutoDehaze L, which are inspired by the boat-shaped, U-shaped, and lateral connection-based designs. To the best of authors knowledge, this is a first attempt to present an NAS method for dehazing with a variety of network search strategies. We conduct a comprehensive set of experiments on Reside-Standard (SOTS), Reside-β (SOTS) and Reside-β (HSTS), D-Hazy, and HazeRD datasets. The architectures discovered by the proposed AutoDehaze quantitatively and qualitatively outperform the existing state-of-the-art approaches. The experiments also show that our models have considerably fewer parameters and runs at a faster inference speed in both CPU and GPU devices. © 2020 IEEE.

In this paper we consider a class of nonlinear systems with two kinds of inputs: one is slowly-varying, the other is fast-varying and periodic, and both are only piecewise continuous. Under the assumption that the origin is a common equilibrium for all values of the input signals, we provide sufficient conditions under which this equilibrium is semi-globally exponentially stable. Our approach is based on considering the (partial) average system which averages out the fast variation but retains the slow variation, and which can be used to approximate the original system in a certain sense. The stability conditions involve the existence of a suitable Lyapunov function for this average system, along with a bound on the total variation of the slowly-varying input. © 2024 IEEE.

The optimisation of control engineering tools based on digital twin capabilities and other cyber-physical metaverse manufacturing system (CPMMS) components are crucial for the successful performance. This study proposes a model for optimising control engineering tools using digital twin capabilities and other CPMMS components to solve the open issues. The main contributions and novelty aspects of the methodological process are outlined as follows: Formulated and developed is a decision matrix based on a utility procedure for 10 control engineering tools with digital twin capabilities and other three CPMMS components (Programmable-Logic-Controller and Human-Machine-Interface, Internet of Things connectivity and cybersecurity features). This matrix accounts for the uncertainty associated with tool assessment and transformation evaluation issue;formulated and develop an integrating fuzzy weighted with zero-inconsistency-interval-valued spherical fuzzy rough sets (IvSFRS-FWZIC) and combined compromise solution (CoCoSo) methods. The IvSFRS-FWZIC method is utilised to assign importance degrees to the digital twin capabilities and other CPMMS components. The applicability and robustness of the proposed approach are validated and evaluated through conducting sensitivity, correlation, and comparative analyses. The proposed approach can assist managers in analysing and selecting the most suitable tool for developing CPMMS. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Optimal path planning avoiding obstacles is among the most attractive applications of mobile robots(MRs)in both research and *** this paper,an optimal collision-free algorithm is designed and implemented practically based on an improved Dijkstra *** achieve this research objectives,first,the MR obstacle-free environment is modeled as a diagraph including nodes,edges and ***,Dijkstra algorithm is used offline to generate the shortest path driving the MR from a starting point to a target *** its movement,the robot should follow the previously obtained path and stop at each node to test if there is an obstacle between the current node and the immediately following *** this aim,the MR was equipped with an ultrasonic sensor used as obstacle *** an obstacle is found,the MR updates its diagraph by excluding the corresponding ***,Dijkstra algorithm runs on the modified *** procedure is repeated until reaching the target *** verify the efficiency of the proposed approach,a simulation was carried out on a hand-made MR and an environment including 9 nodes,19 edges and 2 *** obtained optimal path avoiding obstacles has been transferred into motion control and implemented practically using line tracking *** study has shown that the improved Dijkstra algorithm can efficiently solve optimal path planning in environments including obstacles and that STEAM-based MRs are efficient cost-effective tools to practically implement the designed algorithm.

Distributed Volt-Var Control (VVC) is a widely used control mode of smart inverters. However, necessary VVC curve parameters are remotely communicated to the smart inverter, which opens doors for cyberattacks. If VVC curves of an inverter are maliciously manipulated, the attacked inverter's reactive power injection will oscillate, causing undesirable voltage oscillations to manifest in the distribution system, which, in turn, threatens the system's stability. In contrast with previous works which proposed methods to mitigate the oscillations after they are already present in the system, this paper presents an intrusion detection method to detect malicious VVC curves once they are communicated to the inverter. The proposed method utilizes a Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) that is trained on features extracted from only the local measurements of the inverter. After a smart inverter is equipped with the proposed method, any communicated VVC curve will be verified by the MLP once received. If the curve is found to be malicious, it will be rejected, thus preventing unwanted oscillations beforehand. Otherwise, legitimate curves will be permitted. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified using the 9-bus Canadian urban benchmark distribution system simulated in PSCAD/EMTDC environment. Our results show that the proposed solution can accurately detect malicious VVC curves. © 2023 IEEE.
