A State-Migration Particle Swarm Optimizer for Adaptive Latent Factor Analysis of High-Dimensional and Incomplete Data

High-dimensional and incomplete(HDI) matrices are primarily generated in all kinds of big-data-related practical applications. A latent factor analysis(LFA) model is capable of conducting efficient representation learning to an HDI matrix,whose hyper-parameter adaptation can be implemented through a particle swarm optimizer(PSO) to meet scalable ***, conventional PSO is limited by its premature issues,which leads to the accuracy loss of a resultant LFA model. To address this thorny issue, this study merges the information of each particle's state migration into its evolution process following the principle of a generalized momentum method for improving its search ability, thereby building a state-migration particle swarm optimizer(SPSO), whose theoretical convergence is rigorously proved in this study. It is then incorporated into an LFA model for implementing efficient hyper-parameter adaptation without accuracy loss. Experiments on six HDI matrices indicate that an SPSO-incorporated LFA model outperforms state-of-the-art LFA models in terms of prediction accuracy for missing data of an HDI matrix with competitive computational ***, SPSO's use ensures efficient and reliable hyper-parameter adaptation in an LFA model, thus ensuring practicality and accurate representation learning for HDI matrices.

In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game *** balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.

This paper develops an adaptive two-stage unscented Kalman filter(ATSUKF)to accurately track operation states of the synchronous generator(SG)under cyber *** achieve high fidelity,considering the excitation system of SGs,a detailed 9~(th)-order SG model for dynamic state estimation is ***,for several common cyber attacks against measurements,a two-stage unscented Kalman filter is proposed to estimate the model state and the bias in ***,to solve the deterioration problem of state estimation performance caused by the mismatch between noise statistical characteristics and model assumptions,a multi-dimensional adaptive factor matrix is derived to modify the noise covariance ***,a large number of simulation experiments are carried out on the IEEE 39-bus system,which shows that the proposed filter can accurately track the SG state under different abnormal test conditions.

With the increasing demand for power system stability and resilience,effective real-time tracking plays a crucial role in smart grid ***,most studies have focused on measurement noise,while they seldom think about the problem of measurement data loss in smart power grid *** solve this problem,a resilient fault-tolerant extended Kalman filter(RFTEKF)is proposed to track voltage amplitude,voltage phase angle and frequency ***,a threephase unbalanced network’s positive sequence fast estimation model is ***,the loss phenomenon of measurements occurs randomly,and the randomness of data loss’s randomness is defined by discrete interval distribution[0,1].Subsequently,a resilient fault-tolerant extended Kalman filter based on the real-time estimation framework is designed using the timestamp technique to acquire partial data loss ***,extensive simulation results manifest the proposed RFTEKF can synchronize the smart grid more effectively than the traditional extended Kalman filter(EKF).

Smart cities require better cellular communication, incorporating a high data rate that satisfies the Internet, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT) requirements. A high data rate demands higher bandwidth with low latency. However, the already saturated or underutilized frequency spectrum hinders this realization. 5G and cognitive radio technology can enhance spectrum utilization to meet the high data demands of future cellular communication. Cognitive radio uses spectrum sensing to identify underutilized frequencies without interfering with licensed users, addressing the scarcity of the electromagnetic spectrum. In this paper, a cognitive radio receiver design with a SAR analog-to-digital converter, which is recognized for having a modest resolution for high bandwidth signals, is implemented. Moreover, the pipeline technique in the SAR design is proposed to increase the resolution to be suitable for 5G applications. The high-level model of the system is simulated using MATLAB Simulink software. The quantization error observed in the regular SAR ADC design is compared to that in the proposed pipeline SAR ADC, highlighting the enhanced accuracy and efficiency of the pipeline SAR ADC, which makes it suitable for spectrum sensing in next-generation cognitive radio systems. © 2025 IEEE.

The increasing occurrence of extreme weather events is challenging power grid operation. For extreme weather events, the system operator is responsible for estimating the power outages and scheduling the restoration resources. This paper proposes an outage evaluation framework to identify the possible unserved load profiles, vulnerable areas, and mobile energy adequacy. The outputs of an outage prediction model tool are used to generate numerous faulted line scenarios. Next, each scenario's nodal unserved load profile is obtained by solving a three-phase restoration model that considers repair crews and mobile energy resources (MERs). Then, a novel scenario clustering strategy is developed to cluster the unserved load profiles into multiple representative profiles which the system operator can focus on. Finally, case studies on a distribution system evaluate the damage caused by an extreme weather event and verify the effectiveness of the proposed scenario clustering strategy. © 2024 IEEE.

Multienergy loads in integrated energy sys-tems(IESs)exhibit strong volatility and randomness,and existing multitask sharing methods often encounter nega-tive migration and seesaw problems when addressing complexity and competition among *** line with these considerations,a short-term multienergy load joint prediction method based on seasonal-trend decomposition using LOESS(STL)and convolutional progressive lay-ered extraction(CPLE)is proposed,called ***,STL is applied to model regular and uncertain load information into interpretable trend,seasonal,and re-sidual ***,joint modeling is performed for the same type of components of multienergy loads.A one-dimensional convolutional neural network(1DCNN)is constructed to extract deeper feature *** approach works in concert with the progressive layered extraction sharing method,and convolutional shared and task-specific experts are developed to acquire common and distinctive representations of multienergy loads, re-spectively. Task-specific parameters are gradually sepa-rated through progressive routing. Finally, a subtask network is built to learn temporal dependencies using long short-term memory (LSTM). Simulation validation is performed on the IES dataset at the Tempe campus of Arizona State University, and the experiments show that the STL-CPLE method exhibits higher prediction accu-racy than do the other methods.
