Fantasy Sports has a current market size of ${\$}$27B and is expected to grow more than ${\$}$84B in less than a decade. The intent is to create virtual teams that somehow reflect what would happen if the constituent players actually played in a team. Using individual player and team statistics, models can be trained to predict an outcome. But fans are left wanting more. To achieve a more realistic outcome, aspects of what makes live teams win need to be included: (1) transforming player statistics to reflect their relative importance with respect to a player position;(2) team chemistry (TC). In this work, we show a novel characterization of relative position statistics and a new description of TC. Drawn from the NBA's API, we form a data set to determine whether a fantasy team makes the playoffs using almost two dozen features, including TC. Various Machine Learning models are trained on this data and the best-performing model is offered to the users through a web service. Users can not only inspect fantasy teams and their TC but can also simulate their match-ups with existing 2023 NBA teams and utilize performance visualizations to help improve their team creation process. Effective uniaxial dielectric function tensor and optical phonons in (2¯01)-oriented β-Ga2O3 films with equally distributed sixfold-rotation domains

Monoclinic β-Ga2O3 films grown on c-plane sapphire have been shown to exhibit six (2¯01)-oriented domains, which are equally spaced by rotation around the surface normal and equally sized by volume that render the film optical response effectively uniaxial. We derive and discuss an optical model suitable for ellipsometry data analysis of such films. We model mid- and far-infrared ellipsometry data from undoped and electrically insulating films with an effective uniaxial dielectric tensor based on projections of all phonon modes within the rotation domains parallel and perpendicular to the sample normal, i.e., to the reciprocal lattice vector g2¯01. Two effective response functions are described by the model, and found sufficient to calculate ellipsometry data that best match measured ellipsometry data from a representative film. We propose to render either effective dielectric functions, or inverse effective dielectric functions, each separately for electric field directions parallel and perpendicular to g2¯01, by sums of Lorentz oscillators, which permit determination of either sets of transverse optical phonon-mode parameters, or sets of longitudinal optical phonon-mode parameters, respectively. Transverse optical modes common to both dielectric functions can be traced back to single-crystal modes with Bu character, while modes with Au character appear only within the dielectric function for polarization perpendicular to the sample surface. The thereby obtained parameter sets reveal all phonon modes anticipated from averaging over the sixfold-rotation domains of single crystal β-Ga2O3, but with slightly shifted transverse optical, and completely different longitudinal optical phonon modes. Structural analysis of the film revealed virtually strain-free material. We suggest small crystal grains and high density of grain boundaries as a possible origin for the observed transverse optical phonon-frequency shifts with respect to bulk material. As electric vehicle (EV) technology matures, the need for compact and efficient power electronics will continue to grow. To increase power density and efficiency, it is ideal to minimize the size and power loss of components, including inductors. A standard inductor design technique is placing an air gap in the magnetic core, allowing designers to tune the inductance and allow higher levels of magnetic field without saturation. The inclusion of gaps can increase the total magnetic core loss beyond those predicted by common models such as the Steinmetz equation, creating the need for accurate gap loss models. In this study, the losses of a nanocrystalline inductor core are experimentally measured and compared to an existing gap loss model, showing significant agreement with predicted values. The model was then integrated into a multi-objective optimization framework to evaluate the fitness of nanocrystalline cores against ferrite cores at different switching frequencies. This work finds that gap losses can increase the total loss of nanocrystalline inductors by up to an order of magnitude as frequency increases, implying that consideration of gap losses is vital to selecting the appropriate core material for design applications. © 2025 IEEE.

An accurate predictive model of temperature and humidity plays a vital role in many industrial processes that utilize a closed space such as in agriculture and building management. With the exceptional performance of deep learning on time-series data, developing a predictive temperature and humidity model with deep learning is propitious. In this study, we demonstrated that deep learning models with multivariate time-series data produce remarkable performance for temperature and relative humidity prediction in a closed space. In detail, all deep learning models that we developed in this study achieve almost perfect performance with an R value over 0.99. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Currently, the performance of the police in Indonesia is often in the spotlight of the public with cases that occur, both on a national and regional scale, including personal experiences who also feel disappointed with the performance of the police. The cases, such as the rape of three children by a biological father in East Luwu, and the barrage of other cases that have occurred, in their handling have left the public disappointed, giving rise to the hashtag percumlaporpolisi on social media, especially on twitter. This hashtag became trending and was widely responded to by the public. Using free hashtag keywords, tweet data is collected using Twitter's API for sentiment analysis. The datasets obtained from the crawling results is the latest data with a total of 100 datasets. This study applies the naïve bayes algorithm using textblob which aims to determine the value of polarity and subjectivity. From the results of the analysis carried out, the words that appear most often are useless police, police chief, and policeman. While the results of the sentiment analysis that has been carried out are 40 percent positive sentiment, 40 percent are neutral sentiment and 10 percent are negative sentiment from the hashtags used. From these results, according to the keywords used, the percentage of negative sentiment should be greater than positive and neutral sentiment. It is necessary to conduct a more in-depth study related to the model used in the next research. © 2023 IEEE.

Antennas fabricated with traditional manufacturing methods typically carry redundant weight and are limited in 3D architecture complexity. Current additive manufacturing (AM) methods also lacks the capability to construct antennas with multiple materials. The charge-programmed multi-material AM process demonstrated in this work allows the design and manufacturing of antennas with previously unattainable mechanical properties. In this paper, we discuss the principles behind the multi-material printing and the versatility of the selective metal deposition process. We also introduce the material designs that enables the variation of material property, which makes it possible to print both stiff and flexible antennas. © 2023 IEEE.

Batik is an Indonesian world cultural heritage. Batik consists of many kinds of patterns depending on where the batik comes from, Batik-making techniques continue to develop along with technology development. Among the batik making techniques that are widely used are hand-written, stamping, and printing. Batik motifs have been widely used as research material, especially in the field of artificial intelligence. The diverse appearance of batik motifs has attracted many researchers to carry out research on making synthetic batik patterns, one of which uses a Generative Adversarial Network. This paper presents a synthetic batik pattern model based on the Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Network with Gradient Penalty. This model has been proven to create new synthetic batik patterns quite well and almost identical with images provided in the dataset, with the notes if the dataset provided is large. © 2023 IEEE.

Photovoltaics based on metal-halide perovskites (MHPs) have exceeded the performance of other thin film technologies. However, there are challenges that frustrate the use of current MHP synthesis techniques for large-scale manufacturing. Here, efficient solar cells are demonstrated based on an active layer of methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3) codeposited via vapor transport deposition (VTD). Our system design enables different source temperatures and carrier gas flow rates for the individual precursors, allowing precursor co-deposition and control over perovskite film composition. VTD-processed devices based on an active layer of MAPbI3 realize power conversion efficiencies >10% under AM1.5G solar simulated illumination. © 2023 SPIE. All rights reserved.
