Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) envisages a sustainable, safe, convenient, and affordable air transport system. In socio-technical transition of AAM, there are a number of trade-offs in ecosystem that need to be studied. Three perspectives on economic feasibility are explored: first, based on history of VTOL services and value of time estimates, we discuss whether AAM can provide customers with competitive mobility services; second, what are the stakeholders’ insights on the deployment of AAM; last, the experience in the development of autonomous driving technology, such as parallel intelligence, can inform future AAM research.

Generative AI (GenAI) is driving the intelligence of wireless communications. Due to data limitations, random generation, and dynamic environments, GenAI may generate channel information or optimization strategies that violate physical laws or deviate from actual real-world requirements. We refer to this phenomenon as wireless hallucination, which results in invalid channel information, spectrum wastage, and low communication reliability but remains underexplored. To address this gap, this article provides a comprehensive concept of wireless hallucinations in GenAI-driven communications, focusing on hallucination mitigation. Specifically, we first introduce the fundamental, analyze its causes based on the GenAI workflow, and propose mitigation solutions at the data, model, and post-generation levels. Then, we systematically examines representative hallucination scenarios in GenAI-enabled communications and their corresponding solutions. Finally, we propose a novel integrated mitigation solution for GenAI-based channel estimation. At the data level, we establish a channel estimation hallucination dataset and employ generative adversarial networks (GANs)-based data augmentation. Additionally, we incorporate attention mechanisms and large language models (LLMs) to enhance both training and inference performance. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid solutions reduce the normalized mean square error (NMSE) by 0.19, effectively reducing wireless hallucinations. This paper proposes the impact of the Dynamic model in Input-Output State Feedback Linearization (IO-SFL) technique for trajectory tracking of differential drive mobile robots, which has been restricted to using just the kinematics in most of the previous approaches. To simplify the control problem, this paper develops a novel control approach based on the velocity and position control strategy. To improve the results, the dynamics are taken into account. The objective of this paper is to illustrate the flaws unseen when adopting the kinematics-only controllers because the nonlinear kinematic model will suffice for control design only when the inner velocity (dynamic) loop is faster than the slower outer control loop. This is a big concern when using kinematic controllers to robots that don't have a low-level controller, Arduino robots for example. The control approach is verified using the Lyapunov stability analysis. MATLAB/SIMULINK is carried out to determine the impact of the proposed controller for the trajectory tracking problem, from the simulation, it was discovered that the proposed controller has an excellent dynamic characteristic, simple, rapid response, stable capability for trajectory-tracking, and ignorable tracking error. A comparison between the presence and absence of the dynamic model shows the error in tracking due to dynamic system that must be taken into account if our system doesn't come with a built-in one, thus, confirming the superiority of the proposed approach in terms of precision, with a neglectable difference in computations. © 2021 Budapest University of Technology and Economics. In this paper, we introduce a novel uplink semantic relay (SemRelay)-aided wireless communication system, catering to multiple users by leveraging a shared probability graph between the SemRelay and the base station (BS). In this system, users transmit text information to the SemRelay through conventional bit transmission, and the SemRelay compresses this information using a knowledge based characterized by probability graph before transmitting it to the BS through semantic communication. Then, the BS recovers the information based on the shared probability graph. While the semantic information compression incurs computational resource consumption, it significantly reduces communication resource usage. This paper addresses the challenge of minimizing overall system latency through jointly optimizing communication and computation re-source allocation, considering limited wireless resources and the system's energy budget. To address this problem, we introduce an efficient iterative algorithm, which employs block coordinate descent for communication resource allocation and exhaustive searching for determining the optimal data compression scheme. In particular, both power allocation subproblem and bandwidth allocation subproblem are proved to be convex. The complexity analysis of the proposed algorithm are also provided. Numerical results validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and the superior performance of semantic communication compared to the conventional bit transmission.

This systematic review examines the synergistic and individual influences of resistance exercise, dietary protein supplementation, and sleep/recovery on muscle protein synthesis (MPS). Electronic databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science were extensively used. Studies were selected based on relevance to the criteria and were ensured to be directly applicable to the objectives. Research indicates that a protein dose of 20 to 25 grams maximally stimulates MPS post-resistance training. It is observed that physically frail individuals aged 76 to 92 and middle-aged adults aged 62 to 74 have lower mixed muscle protein synthetic rates than individuals aged 20 to 32. High-whey protein and leucine-enriched supplements enhance MPS more efficiently than standard dairy products in older adults engaged in resistance programs. Similarly, protein intake before sleep boosts overnight MPS rates, which helps prevent muscle loss associated with sleep debt, exercise-induced damage, and muscle-wasting conditions like sarcopenia and cachexia. Resistance exercise is a functional intervention to achieve muscular adaptation and improve function. Future research should focus on variables such as fluctuating fitness levels, age groups, genetics, and lifestyle factors to generate more accurate and beneficial results. © 2024, CC BY.

A Spectral-Spatial Attention Network for Hyperspectral Unmixing

Hyperspectral unmixing, an essential and fundamental task in remote sensing, focuses on estimating endmembers (spectrally pure components) and their fractional abundances within each mixed pixel of a hyperspectral image. With the advent of deep learning (DL), the field of hyperspectral unmixing has made significant progress. Among DL approaches, autoencoder-based models have shown promising results. However, most unmixing methods estimate the endmembers by the weights of the linear layers in the decoder of their networks, making their performance highly dependent on weight initialization. Moreover, noise is not explicitly accounted for in most recent methods that use spectral angle distance (SAD) loss. To avoid the initialization problems, we developed an innovative inversion strategy to directly estimate the endmembers. Moreover, to optimally account for noise, an end-to-end network is proposed, which integrates both denoising and unmixing. Finally, for an improved feature extraction, a novel spectral-spatial attention module (SSAM) is integrated into the network. Extensive experiments on synthetic and three real datasets show that the proposed method significantly and consistently outperforms the compared state-of-the-art methods. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

Aim:For many years,systemic treatment of metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma(mRCC)was based on sequential targeted agent *** this real-life case series,we evaluated easily accessible clinical factors useful for disease course ***:We exploited patients'clinical pathological characteristics and systemic treatment outcomes in a real-world population of 365 mRCC patients who received sequential monotherapies in the targeted therapy era,and we identified an early progressors subpopulation,resistant to first-line VEGFR-TKI monotherapy in less than 6 ***:Early progressors(n=124)show a far worse OS compared with patients progressing beyond the sixth month of therapy(13.5 vs.44.8 months,P-value<0.0001,HR=0.41,95%CI:0.29-0.53).However,these patients did not show far worse performance in second and third-line settings compared to first-line *** the univariate analysis,IMDC risk class,sarcomatoid features,and Systemic Inflammation Index(SII)were correlated with first-line therapy Progression-Free Survival(PFS1).In multivariate analysis,variables correlated with first-line outcome were IMDC risk class,histotype,and number of metastatic sites at the ***:Real-world data can contribute to developing easy-to-use prognostic factors associated with refractory disease that could support clinicians in identifying the most appropriate treatment strategy for each patient.

Hybrid surface waves in twisted anisotropic heterometasurfaces

Recent advances in twisted photonic structures (e.g., twisted bilayer graphene and twisted anisotropic metasurfaces) have enabled many exotic phenomena of light-matter interactions, such as topological transition of the isofrequency contour of surface waves at the magic angle, photonic flatbands, and localization-to-delocalization transition of light. In general, the optical features of these twisted photonic structures are sensitive to the interlayer twist angle. Here we investigate the mode hybridization of surface waves supported by twisted bilayer anisotropic heterometasurfaces, whose two constituent metasurfaces are nonidentical and support surface waves with similar spatial confinements but distinct polarizations. Counterintuitively, we find that the shape of the isofrequency contour of these hybrid surface waves—eigenmodes with both transverse magnetic and transverse electric wave components—can be insensitive to the twist angle, due to the weak interlayer electromagnetic coupling. Moreover, the interlayer distance provides a unique route to reshape the dispersion of one specific kind of hybrid surface wave, while it has negligible influence on the other kinds. Our finding enriches the physics of light-matter interactions in twisted photonic structures and may open new possibilities to mold the flow of light at the subwavelength scale.

Quantum Artificial Intelligence (QAI) stands for the combination of the exercise of ‘quantum computing’ and ‘artificial intelligence’ that drives breakthrough transformation across various industries. In this paper, it is discussed on how QAI is bringing change across industries including pharmaceuticals, finance, weather prediction, supply chain, security, smart cities, agriculture, telecommunication, and education. With quantum mechanics conceptions, QAI enhance computation ability to address more data, and enhance the algorithms. Quantum technologies have potential for attachment to AI systems and make the previously unachievable innovations with the help of overgrowing the classical models. As a conclusion, this paper also discusses its result on the methodological difficulties and ethical issues of QAI, the need to build strategic partnerships and the need for well-regulated legislation. The results extend our understanding of QAI to apprehend the future of technology and its application for solving some of the greatest problems that the world faces today.
