Quantum Assisted Combinatorial Benders' Algorithm for the Synergy of Hydrogen and Power Distribution systems with Mobile Storage

The growth of hydrogen infrastructure is expected to aid in the integration of fluctuating renewable energy in distribution systems. To leverage the hydrogen system flexibility, this work presents a mixed-binary quadratic program (MBQP) model for synergistic operations of hydrogen and power distribution systems, wherein truck-mounted mobile hydrogen storage facilities are modeled for the schedule of their routes and loading/unloading quantities. A quantum-assisted combinatorial Benders' decomposition algorithm is designed for our MBQP model to deploy the solving of master and sub-problems on a quantum processing unit (QPU) and a classical CPU, respectively. The master problem is reformulated as a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) problem, which can be efficiently solved by quantum annealers. The proposed approach was tested on a hybrid quantum annealing and classical computing platform. Results show a trend to outperform the CPU-based commercial solvers as the problem scale increases. © 1969-2012 IEEE.

Aerial scene recognition(ASR)has attracted great attention due to its increasingly essential *** of the ASR methods adopt the multi‐scale architecture because both global and local features play great roles in ***,the existing multi‐scale methods neglect the effective interactions among different scales and various spatial locations when fusing global and local features,leading to a limited ability to deal with challenges of large‐scale variation and complex background in aerial scene *** addition,existing methods may suffer from poor generalisations due to millions of to‐belearnt parameters and inconsistent predictions between global and local *** tackle these problems,this study proposes a scale‐wise interaction fusion and knowledge distillation(SIF‐KD)network for learning robust and discriminative features with scaleinvariance and background‐independent *** main highlights of this study include two *** the one hand,a global‐local features collaborative learning scheme is devised for extracting scale‐invariance features so as to tackle the large‐scale variation problem in aerial scene ***,a plug‐and‐play multi‐scale context attention fusion module is proposed for collaboratively fusing the context information between global and local *** the other hand,a scale‐wise knowledge distillation scheme is proposed to produce more consistent predictions by distilling the predictive distribution between different scales during *** experimental results show the proposed SIF‐KD network achieves the best overall accuracy with 99.68%,98.74%and 95.47%on the UCM,AID and NWPU‐RESISC45 datasets,respectively,compared with state of the arts.

This article presents an experimental stand for the remote control of a D.C. motor used to drive a conveyor belt. This is based on two development boards Arduino Uno and two shields NRF24L01. The D. C. motor is supplied from a D.C. voltage source by means of the H type bridge. The emitter circuit sends the control signal generated through a potentiometer to the receptor circuit by means of radio waves at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The receptor circuit receives the analogue signal emitted by the emitting circuit, transforms it into a PWM (pulse width modulation) signal and uses it for controlling the transistors of the H-bridge. For implementing and validating the remote control system of the D.C. motor two programs have been issued in the programming environment Arduino IDE for the two circuits. emitter and receptor. The remote control system of the D.C. motor has been running in the same way as the direct control of this. The remote control is used in the case of the electric actuation systems made with D.C. motors continuous used in spaces inaccessible to the human operator. © 2024 IEEE.

Mobile prices play a pivotal role in determining their popularity amongst consumers and their competitive standing within the market. As customers consider their budget while evaluating a mobile phone's specifications and design, estimating the price beforehand becomes essential to cater to their needs and expectations. Hence, accurately forecasting mobile phone prices is a vital step in the product launch process to remain competitive and assess the market dynamics and competitors. The primary aim of this research is to determine the true market value of mobile phones. In this research, the dataset was extracted by means of utilizing a web scraping process from the flipkart website. The main objective of this research is to fetch the most recent dataset based on the most recent features. The extracted dataset is fitted into regression models such as linear regression, decision tree regressor, random forest regressor, KNN regressor, and gradient boosting regressor and performs the comparative analysis. The models are evaluated based on the mean absolute error metric. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, a novel dual-band MIMO monopole antenna for 5G applications is presented. The proposed MIMO antenna is made up of two rings that are T-shaped, generating two distinguished bands: the N77 band and the 6 GHz 5G band. A Tshaped ground branch with a bottom slit is integrated into the ground plane to mitigate the mutual coupling at lower and higher operating bands by redistributing the current, thus improving the isolation enhancement. A reversed T-shaped grounded parasitic element with extra grounded parasitic elements on the partial ground is inserted on top of the substrate, between the MIMO elements. The grounded process is introduced by inserting two metallic vias in each branch of the parasitic element. These parasitic elements effectively reduce the coupling between the MIMO antennas by restricting the current to the respective antenna, thus improving the isolation at the higher band. To verify the design principle of the suggested MIMO antenna, this latter is manufactured and tested. It exhibits excellent impedance matching and high isolation characteristics, and a compact footprint of 29 mm × 42.5 mm. Thus, it is attractive for 5G MIMO systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Efficiently scheduling jobs in clouds is critical for job performance, system throughput and resource utilization. The growing importance of parallel applications in clouds introduces challenges in scheduling data-parallel jobs. Production data-parallel jobs increasingly have complex dependency structure, i.e., complex task dependencies expressed as directed acyclic graphs (DAGs), and heterogeneous resource demands. NP-hard problems are introduced by relaxing either of these challenges (i.e., scheduling of homogeneous tasks with dependency constraints or independent and heterogeneous tasks) for scheduler design. It is challenging to design a scheduler for simultaneously achieving low latency and high resource utilization due to the complex dependency structure and job heterogeneity. In this paper, we propose Sailfish, a dependency-aware and resource efficient scheduling for low latency in clouds. Sailfish first uses the machine learning algorithm to classify jobs into two categories (high priority jobs and low priority jobs) based on the extracted features. Next, Sailfish splits the jobs into tasks and distributes the tasks to the master nodes based on the dependency of tasks and the load of master nodes. Then, Sailfish utilizes the dependency information of tasks to determine tasks' priority, and packs tasks by leveraging the complementary of tasks' requirements on different resource types and task dependency. Finally, the master nodes leverage the proposed mutual reinforcement algorithm to distribute tasks to workers in the system based on the resource demands of tasks, the available resources of workers and task dependency. Extensive experimental results based on a real cluster and experiments using real-world Amazon EC2 cloud service show that Sailfish can improve the average resource utilization (by up to 40%) and reduce the latency (the average job completion time) significantly (by up to 91%) compared to the existing schedulers. © 2023 IEEE.

AD-L-JEPA: Self-Supervised Spatial World Models with Joint Embedding Predictive Architecture for Autonomous Driving with LiDAR Data

As opposed to human drivers, current autonomous driving systems still require vast amounts of labeled data to train. Recently, world models have been proposed to simultaneously enhance autonomous driving capabilities by improving the way these systems understand complex real-world environments and reduce their data demands via self-supervised pre-training. In this paper, we present AD-L-JEPA (aka Autonomous Driving with LiDAR data via a Joint Embedding Predictive Architecture), a novel self-supervised pre-training framework for autonomous driving with LiDAR data that, as opposed to existing methods, is neither generative nor contrastive. Our method learns spatial world models with a joint embedding predictive architecture. Instead of explicitly generating masked unknown regions, our self-supervised world models predict Bird’s Eye View (BEV) embeddings to represent the diverse nature of autonomous driving scenes. Our approach furthermore eliminates the need to manually create positive and negative pairs, as is the case in contrastive learning. AD-L-JEPA leads to simpler implementation and enhanced learned representations. We qualitatively and quantitatively demonstrate high-quality of embeddings learned with AD-L-JEPA. We furthermore evaluate the accuracy and label efficiency of AD-L-JEPA on popular downstream tasks such as LiDAR 3D object detection and associated transfer learning. Notably, our method achieves up to a 5× speed-up in pre-training time compared with the state-of-the-art (SOTA) approaches and consistently delivers better performance when fine-tuned on different amounts of labeled data compared to SOTA. More impressively, the experiments show that even when the first layers of the encoders of ADL-JEPA are randomly initialized while the remaining layers are initialized as pre-trained, our method still yields positive transfers, whereas the competitor method suffer from the negative transfers in this case.
