Pickup vehicle scheduling in the steel logistics park is a critical issue in determining the outbound effciency of steel products. Steel products are distributed in the yards of the steel logistics park with mixed storage, and the optional yards for each pickup operation are not unique, which greatly increases the scheduling complexity. To overcome this challenge, in this paper, we propose a pickup vehicle scheduling problem with mixed steel storage (PVSP-MSS) to optimize makespan of pickup vehicle and makespan of steel logistics park simultaneously. The optimization problem is described as a multi-objective problem, and an enhanced Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm 2 (ESPEA) is proposed to solve the problem with high efficiency. Experiments are executed based on data collected from a real steel logistics park. The results confirm that ESPEA can significantly reduce both makespan of each pickup vehicle and makespan of steel logistics park. © 2023 IEEE.

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an emerging software engineering development method through AB testing experiments. As a commonly used online experimental method, AB testing is used to compare the performance of two or more solutions. It has been widely used in the software development process to optimize user experience and function implementation. This study proposes a new development framework that combines AB testing and software testing, which quantifies the impact of different development strategies on software quality by constructing a correlation matrix. In order to verify the effectiveness of this method, this paper designed a series of experiments and implemented AB testing in multiple software projects. Experimental results show that by accurately adjusting the variable combinations in AB testing, software stability and user satisfaction can be significantly improved. In addition, this paper also develops a set of computer algorithm models to simulate different development scenarios and predict the potential benefits of new development methods through simulation technology. Through the analysis of simulation results, this article found that projects using new development methods have improved in key performance indicators, especially in shortening development cycles and reducing defect rates. The development method that combines AB testing and software testing not only improves the quality of software products, but also enhances the flexibility and response speed of the development process. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Steel plates are highly customized according to different customer demands. In this case, the outbound date, the specifications of the steel plates and the distribution of stacks must be simultaneously considered when the steel plates are stored in the yard. Improper storage of steel plates significantly increases the number of shuffles during outbound operations. To overcome the challenge, we propose an efficient steel plate storage scheme based on the actual scenario of existing steel plate distribution in the yard. Firstly, a model for steel plate storage scheduling is established to minimize the number of extra blocking plates. Then, three heuristic algorithms are designed to solve the problem. Comparative experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed method can sufficiently improve the efficiency of steel plates scheduling. © 2023 IEEE.

Swarm robotics realize collaboration through information interaction among robots. One of the key aspects of stable and reliable operation of swarm robotics is protecting the privacy and content of the interactive data. Blockchain has been traditionally applied to digital currency due to its decentralization and high security features. Since robots can serve as a node in blockchain, and both swarm robotics and blockchain share the distributed architecture, there is great potential to apply blockchain technology to ensure the security of interactive data in swarm robotics. In this paper, a brief review of the current studies on the applying blockchain to swarm robotics is given. In addition, a blockchain data protection method is employed to protect the data integrity and privacy of swarm robotics. Finally, a simulation using the swarm robotics simulator and the Ethereum blockchain test network is conducted. The efficient management of storage has become a critical determinant of operational efficiency due to the growing and diverse demand for steel logistics parks. However, the current storage methods consistently result in significant imbalances in the loading of steel products and operating times across multiple yards. To address this challenge, we propose optimizing the distribution of steel products based on demand levels and retrieval efficiency. Firstly, we present an optimization problem that employs demand-driven storage principles to formulate the scheduling of steel product storage. Then, we introduce a novel algorithm called the Adaptive Preferred Evolutionary Heuristic (APEH) to tackle this problem. The results from our experiments indicate that this model effectively enhances the storage structure, and the proposed algorithm consistently yields optimal solutions within a reasonable timeframe. © 2023 IEEE.

The upcoming 6G mobile wireless networks are expected to support massive ultra-reliable and low-latency communications (mURLLC), which is an emerging service that demands more stringent requirements than the fifth generation (5G) wireless networks on delay and error-rate bounded quality-of-services (QoS) with massive connectivity. Finite blocklength coding (FBC) techniques based short packets communication techniques have been shown to be able to support both the statistical delay and error-rate bounded QoS provisioning. Rate splitting (RS) multiple access schemes have been proposed to address the sum degree-of-freedom loss problem over massive multiple-input and multiple-output channels when massive mobile users request to access the network. However, how to support the statistical delay and error-rate bounded QoS provisioning using FBC among massive mobile users to enable the massive access has not been sufficiently studied. In this paper, we propose to integrate FBC with RS techniques to achieve mURLLC transmissions. First, we define the ∊-effective capacity to measure the performance of statistical delay and error-rate bounded provisioning, and obtain a closed-form ∊-effective capacity under the RS scheme. Then, we maximize the aggregate ∊-effective capacity over all mobile users by deriving an optimal transmit power allocation strategy for the RS scheme. Finally, using numerical analyses, we validate and evaluate our proposed RS schemes to support statistical delay and error-rate bounded QoS provisioning over 6G communication networks in the non-asymptotic regime.

Intelligent fault diagnosis has been widely used in the industry and plays a crucial role in the health management of machinery. In recent years, unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) has been applied to fault diagnosis, showing excellent performance under variable working conditions. However, most existing UDA-based methods do not consider the temporal relations in the fault signal, resulting in sub-optimal performance. In this paper, we proposed a domain adversarial interaction network (DAIN) to solve this problem. By downsampling sub-sequences of fault signals and interacting with their features, DAIN can obtain feature representations containing the temporal relations. In addition, domain adversarial learning and maximum mean discrepancy (MMD) are applied to DAIN to align the domain discrepancy and distribution discrepancy of source and target domains. We conducted extensive experiments on the public Paderborn University (PU) dataset, and the results demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve higher cross-domain fault diagnosis accuracy than the existing methods. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Reinforcement Learning (RL) has been applied to robotic arm control, which enables the agent to learn an effective policy to solve complex tasks. However, it requires constant interaction with the environment leading to low sample efficiency. In this paper, we propose a robotic arm control approach based on planning via lookahead search, which is a model-based RL algorithm to improve the sample efficiency. The approach builds an environment model in order to obtain the dynamics of the environment. Thus the model can be used to plan future actions by a tree-based search. The experiments show that our approach can solve the task of robotic arm control with less environmental samples. © 2023 IEEE.
