Dear Editor,This letter deals with a solution for time-varying problems using an intelligent computational(IC)algorithm driven by a novel decentralized machine learning approach called isomerism *** order to meet the challenges of the model’s privacy and security brought by traditional centralized learning models,a private permissioned blockchain is utilized to decentralize the model in order to achieve an effective coordination,thereby ensuring the credibility of the overall model without exposing the specific parameters and solution process.

Due to the explosively increasing number of mobile users and the new types of data demands in the fifth generation (5G) mobile wireless network, research in wireless networks has shifted toward the development of the sixth-generation (6G) wireless network. Although the research for software-defined network (SDN) architectures in 5G mainly focuses on the dynamic programming for the internet backbone, these software programming techniques can be also applied at the network edge to support the exponentially increasing demands from mobile users under constrained wireless resources. In order to study the interference problem resulted by massive mobile users, the scaling law is a powerful tool to show how fast the levels of network imperfections can be tolerated as the number of mobile users increases. In this paper, we investigate the scaling behavior of software-defined architectures over 6G wireless networks. We consider the wireless channel in three scenarios: single-input-single-output (SISO), multiple-input-single-output (MISO), and multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO), where we derive the corresponding scaling law for each scenario, respectively. Our derived scaling law shows how the network performance scales with the number of mobile users in a wireless network. Then, we propose a software-defined network slicing scheme to select the optimal mobile users and derive their optimal resource allocations, according to our derived scaling law, under SISO, MISO, and MIMO wireless channel, respectively. Finally, we validate and evaluate the derived scaling behavior of the software-defined architecture over 6G wireless networks through numerical analyses.

The fully analytical method has been widely studied for its higher accuracy and efficiency, and the addition of shading rendering can effectively improve the three-dimensional perception of reconstructed images. However, existing fully analytical polygon-based shading rendering methods suffer from high computational complexity and complexity due to the need for additional calculation of the highlight spectrum. Based on previous research, we employ a continuous light and shadow algorithm that uses linear interpolation to decouple the reflection term from the spectrum, meaning that we incorporate the specular component into the calculation of vertex modulus, and separately compute the vertex modulus and the corresponding spectrum values, simplifying the calculation process of existing Blinn Phong lighting models. The algorithm can effectively generate highly realistic holographically reconstructed images with high gloss effects under continuous illumination. It achieves computational efficiency than existing algorithms, without increasing the number of polygons. Simulations and experimental results have verified the effectiveness of our proposed method. © 2024 SPIE. All rights reserved.

This work models a secure integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) system as a wiretap channel with action-dependent channel states and channel output feedback, e.g., obtained through reflections. The transmitted message is split into a common and a secure message, both of which must be reliably recovered at the legitimate receiver, while the secure message needs to be kept secret from the eavesdropper. The transmitter actions, such as beamforming vector design, affect the corresponding state at each channel use. The action sequence is modeled to depend on both the transmitted message and channel output feedback. For perfect channel output feedback, the secrecy-distortion regions are provided for physically-degraded and reversely-physically-degraded secure ISAC channels with transmitter actions. The corresponding rate regions when the entire message should be kept secret are also provided. The results are illustrated through characterizing the secrecy-distortion region of a binary example.

Although Collaborative Deep Neural Network (CDNN) promises to be an alternative mechanism to mitigate the effects of the untrusted cloud, this approach is susceptible to other kinds of adversarial attacks, which arise from one or more untrusted devices in CDNN acting maliciously. However, since each untrusted node in the CDNN contains only partial information of the complete DNN model, it is worth investigating whether the attacker can still muster a viable threat to CDNN or not. This led to the investigation of attack scenarios and their effects on convolutional neural networks (CNN) used for image classification in the CDNN environment. In this research, we are investigating the shortcomings of existing attacks on CDNN, that lead to non-subtle attack to the defender who is on look out against such attacks. Our research showed that sparse nature of feature maps (FMs) due to the ReLU function lead to many existing attacks more obvious to the attacker. Next, we investigated how one can detect the existing attacks if the defender has some previous knowledge of the complete CNN’s FMs. Our results show minimal detection overhead of about 2%, with an accuracy of 95% and F1 score of above 0.97. 1

Assistive technology implements various methods of interaction according to the needs of the user. Eye tracking is one of several interaction methods that detects gaze and trajectory of eye movements to control a computer system. During gaze-based interaction, events detection algorithm is implemented for classifying eye movements. Fixation and smooth pursuit are two most prominent eye movements used in assistive technology. Unfortunately, there is no study that thoroughly investigates advantages and disadvantages of fixation and smooth pursuit eye movement in assistive technology. To handle this research gap, we present a literature study to investigate implementations of fixation and smooth pursuit eye movement in various assistive technologies. We elaborate pros and cons of using fixation and smooth pursuit in their related technologies. Based on our review, we found that smooth pursuit is more useful to be implemented in public assistive technology than fixation. Smooth pursuit-based interaction does not require personal calibration process that takes significant amount of time. With our concluded results, our study may be used as a guidance for early career human-computer interaction researchers and front-end engineers to assess suitability of types of interaction in a gaze-based assistive technology.

In the fully-decoupled radio access network (FD-RAN), the base stations (BSs) are classified as control BSs, uplink BSs, and downlink BSs for better flexibility of the BS-user equipment (UE) association and elasticity of resource scheduling. However, the high feedback delay brought by the physically decoupling architecture renders conventional feedback-based MIMO transmission ineffective. Considering the strong correlation between user geolocation and the channel propagation environment, especially when a line-of-sight (LOS) path exists, we propose a geolocation-based MIMO transmission scheme that determines the user's precoder and modulation and coding scheme (MCS) without requiring the conventional feedback procedures. To capture the correlation, we utilize deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to perform the task of mapping from geolocation to transmission parameters. Based on the principles of Type I codebook, we further decompose the task into subtasks to reduce the action space. The extensive simulations on realistic ray-tracing channels demonstrate comparable performance to CSI feedback-based methods in 5G under ideal (zero feedback delay) conditions and better performance against 5G (with feedback delay) and DRL without task decomposition. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper considers an information theoretic model of secure integrated sensing and communication, represented as a wiretap channel with action dependent states. This model allows securing part of a transmitted message against a sensed target that eavesdrops the communication, while enabling transmitter actions to change the channel statistics. An exact secrecy-distortion region is given for a physically-degraded channel. A finite-length achievability region is established for the model using an output statistics of random binning method, giving an achievable bound for low-latency applications.
