This paper presents in detail an analysis of the ability of data hiding capabilities. According to the human visual features, this paper uses edge degree which can be computed by log points, and combines distributed evenly degrees with sigmoid function which is adopted to describe bright hiding capability, and proposes an effective method to measure the data hiding capability. Moreover, this paper implements embedding and distilling watermark based on the frequency modulation. Using the idea of frequency modulation that belongs to communication engineering, and bringing up "frequency modulation watermark" which different to traditional watermark technique, we constitute base band signal by select the intermediate frequency coefficients of image piece which has strong data conceals ability, then, embedding and picking up watermark according to the idea of frequency modulation. This kind of watermark technique can give attention to invisibleness and robustness, and realize blind examination efficiently. The experiments show that the technique has the properties of combing invisibility and robustness as well as achieving efficient blind detection.

With the continuous development of the wireless technology, securing wireless sensor networks became more and more a crucial but also a demanding task. In this paper we propose a combined strategy that is meant to discover malicious nodes within a wireless sensor network and to expel them from the network using a self-destruction node technique. Basically, we will compare every sensor reading with its estimated value provided by an autoregressive predictor. In case the difference between the two values is bigger then a chosen threshold, the sensor node becomes suspicious and a decision block is activated. If this block decides that the node is malicious, a self-destruction procedure will be started against that specific node.

Communication systems are becoming more complicated to support different types of services. How to coordinate different services around a user in a flexible and customized way is a new and interesting challenge. Service providers have proposed solutions such as the Universal Communication Identifier (UCI) and IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) but they require the modification of current systems and only perform the service integration in their service domains. On the other hand, unified communications (UC) solutions have been proposed to support service integration across different service domains. In this paper, we proposed a personal unified communication system (PUCS). This system uses personal-oriented modules which allow it to integrate any communication services over heterogeneous wireless networks around a user in a customized and flexible way. Users can then enjoy unified communications in their personal domains without support from public or group service providers. The PUCS can provide users with UC capabilities such as personal mobility (PM), any-to-any communications, user presence, instant message (IM), unified messaging, speech access, and text access. The solution is scalable since it is implemented on personal domains. A further advantage is that, by using a universal personal identifier (UPI) and an alias system, a user can also be affiliated with different group domains. This makes it possible to define specific service profiles for each domain so that the user can also enjoy the unified communications provided specifically for that domain.

Linear and planar arrays have been demonstrated to be effective in interferometric imaging and sensing of one-dimensional and two-dimensional objects. A planar spiral array was used for sensing sources or objects located on a plane parallel to the array plane. This paper shows that by using a three-dimensional array, it is possible to detect differences in distances and thus detect three dimensional objects more accurately. The concept is demonstrated for an array on an Archimedean spiral projection in the x-y plane and different functional variations in the z direction. A log-periodic variation in the z direction show better resolution of the image.

This paper provides a Lyapunov formulation of the cyclic-small-gain theorem for general dynamical networks(large-scale systems) composed of interconnected input-to-state stable(ISS) subsystems. ISS-Lyapunov functions for dynamical networks satisfying cyclic-small-gain are constructed from the ISS-Lyapunov functions of the subsystems.

In the context of program understanding, a challenge research topic1 is to learn how techniques and tools for the comprehension of General-Purpose Languages (GPLs) can be used or adjusted to the understanding of Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs). Being DSLs tailored for the description of problems within a specific domain, it becomes easier to improve these tools with specific visualizations (at a higher abstraction level, closer to the problem level) in order to understand the DSLs programs. In this paper, comprehension techniques will be applied to Karel language. This will allow us to explore the creation of problem domain visualizations for this language and to combine both problem and program domains in order to reach a full understanding of Karel programs.

Application libraries are the most commonly used implementation approach to solve problems in general-purpose languages. Their competitors are domain-specific languages, which can provide notation close to the problem domain. We carried out an empirical study on comparing domain-specific languages and application libraries regarding program understanding. In this paper, one case study is presented. Over 3000 lines of code were studied and more than 86 pages long questionnaires were answered by end-users, answering questions on learning, perceiving and evolving programs written in domain-specific language as well as general-purpose language using application library. In this paper, we present comparison results on end-users' correctness and consumed time. For domain-specific language and application library same problem domain has been used-a well-known open source graph description language, DOT.

Microprocessor power has become a first-order constraint at run-time. Designers must employ aggressive power-management techniques at run-time to keep a processor's ballooning power requirements under control. Effective power management benefits from knowledge of run-time microprocessor power consumption in both the core and individual microarchitectural structures, such as caches, queues, and execution units. Increasingly feasible per-structure power-control techniques, such as fine-grain clock gating, power gating, and dynamic voltage/frequency scaling (DVFS), become more effective from run-time estimates of per-structure power. However, run-time computation of per-structure power estimates based on utilization requires daunting numbers of input statistics, which makes per-structure monitoring of run-time power a challenging problem. To address the challenges of estimating per-structure power in hardware, we propose a new technique, called Common Activity-based Model for Power (CAMP), to estimate activity factors and power for microarchitectural structures. Despite using a relatively few input parameters-specifically nine-based on general microprocessor utilization statistics (e.g., IPC and load rate), our linear-regression-based model estimates activity and dynamic power for over 100 structures in an out-of-order x86 pipeline and core power with an average error of 8%. Because the computations utilize few inputs, CAMP is simple enough to implement in hardware, providing run-time structure and core power estimates for dynamic power management. Because the input statistics are generic in nature and the model remains accurate across incremental microarchitectural refinements, CAMP provides simple intuitive equations relating global microarchitectural statistics to structure activity and power. These equations provide a simple technique that can equate changes in one structure's activity to power variations in other structures across the pipeline.

A viability algorithm is developed to compute the constrained minimum time function for general dynamical systems. The algorithm is instantiated for a specific dynamics (Dubin's vehicle forced by a flow field) in order to numerically solve the minimum time problem. With the specific dynamics considered, the framework of hybrid systems enables us to solve the problem efficiently. The algorithm is implemented in C using epigraphical techniques to reduce the dimension of the problem. The feasibility of this optimal trajectory algorithm is tested in an experiment with a Light Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (LAUV) system. The hydrodynamics of the LAUV are analyzed in order to develop a low-dimension vehicle model. Deployment results from experiments performed in the Sacramento River in California are presented, which show good performance of the algorithm.
