This work deals with the distributed attack-resilient consensus problem for continuous-time multi-agent systems on time-varying directed graphs. An unknown fraction of agents are Byzantine agents, which send false information to deceive their neighbors. Moreover, each normal agent suffers from actuation attacks. In order to ensure the resilience of all normal agents against the above hybrid attacks, a new kind of edge-based protocols is formulated, which achieves resilient consensus via signed feedback. Then, the finite-time zero-error control performance of the above protocol is proven for (2f+1) - robust time-varying directed topologies, based on strictly Lyapunov stability analysis. © 2023 IEEE.

Sub-terahertz (THz) wireless communication links require low-SWaP (size, weight, and power) software defined radio (SDR) modems to achieve efficient and reliable data transmission. This research presents the design, development, and experimentation of an SDR system operating in the 135-150 GHz frequency range, utilizing simple I/Q modulation techniques such as differential binary phase shift keying (DBPSK). The system integrates advanced components, including Virginia Diodes (VDI) 110-170 GHz compact upconverter (CCU) and compact downconverter (CCD), high-gain lens horn antennas from Anteral (40 dBi), and the Xilinx RF-SoC ZCU-111 for real time DSP. A 500 MHz IF is implemented on RF-SoC with baseband bandwidth 64 MHz and data rate 64 Mbps via DBPSK modulation. For 20 dBm transmit power at 147 GHz, the nearfield SNR was measured to be 55 dB at 1m lens-to-lens separation for a baseband of 64 MHz. Simulation models of propagation predict 64 Mbps is possibly viable at up to 2 km in a point-to-point connection for a BER of < 10 −3 . The SDR was realized on the Xilinx PYNQ platform, offering a user-friendly interface while being adaptable to high data rate applications. This digital design is particularly suited for deployment in scenarios such as vehicle-to-vehicle communication, backhaul networks, and data center level interconnects. The research explored challenges related to synchronization, signal integrity, and environmental sensitivity, which are critical for maintaining reliable communication in a 147 GHz channel. A real-time text messaging application demonstrated correct operation of the PYNQ modem.

The metaverse virtual assets are carried by smart contract, thus detecting the potential smart contract vulnerabilities and malicious intension is critical to protect the metaverse digital assets and the investors' confidence. However, existing research mainly focus on the Ethereum address features, which can hardly reveal the characteristics of the entire smart contract project. In this paper, we take the first step to detect smart contract anomalies on the granularity of smart contract project, and propose a method to identify the smart contract project's subordinate addresses, and a model network which takes the runtime features of the smart contract project. We further apply our method on our dataset collected from projects deployed on Ethereum, and prove that our method could effectively recognize the similarity of smart contract projects, and identify the malicious transactions which trigger smart contract project anomalies. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper considers the problem of learning safe policies in the context of reinforcement learning (RL). In particular, we consider the notion of probabilistic safety. This is, we aim to design policies that maintain the state of the system in a safe set with high probability. This notion differs from cumulative constraints often considered in the literature. The challenge of working with probabilistic safety is the lack of expressions for their gradients. Indeed, policy optimization algorithms rely on gradients of the objective function and the constraints. To the best of our knowledge, this work is the first one providing such explicit gradient expressions for probabilistic constraints. It is worth noting that the gradient of this family of constraints can be applied to various policy-based algorithms. We demonstrate empirically that it is possible to handle probabilistic constraints in a continuous navigation problem. © 2023 IEEE.

Optimal cruise control design can increase highway throughput and vehicle safety in traffic flow. In most heterogeneous platoons, the absence of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication poses challenges in maintaining system stability and ensuring a safe inter-vehicle distance. This paper presents an adaptive estimation-based control design for adaptive cruise control (ACC) that reliably estimates the states of the preceding vehicle while ensuring the autonomous vehicle operates within a safe region. Lyapunov functions and Control Barrier Functions (CBFs) are employed to design a safety-critical controller that guarantees safety despite potential estimation errors. The proposed unified control formulation addresses limitations in the existing cruise control solutions by simultaneously ensuring safety, stability, and optimal performance. The estimator-controller framework is implemented in scenarios with and without vehicle-to-vehicle communication, demonstrating successful performance in maintaining platoon safety and stability. Additionally, physics engine-based simulations reinforce both the practical viability of the proposed control framework in real-world situations and the controller's adeptness at maintaining safety amidst realistic operating conditions. This paper studies the transfer reinforcement learning (RL) problem where multiple RL problems have different reward functions but share the same underlying transition *** this setting, the Q-function of each RL problem (task) can be decomposed into a successor feature (SF) and a reward mapping: the former characterizes the transition dynamics, and the latter characterizes the task-specific reward *** Q-function decomposition, coupled with a policy improvement operator known as generalized policy improvement (GPI), reduces the sample complexity of finding the optimal Q-function, and thus the SF & GPI framework exhibits promising empirical performance compared to traditional RL methods like ***, its theoretical foundations remain largely unestablished, especially when learning the successor features using deep neural networks (SF-DQN).This paper studies the provable knowledge transfer using SFs-DQN in transfer RL *** establish the first convergence analysis with provable generalization guarantees for SF-DQN with *** theory reveals that SF-DQN with GPI outperforms conventional RL approaches, such as deep Q-network, in terms of both faster convergence rate and better *** experiments on real and synthetic RL tasks support the superior performance of SF-DQN & GPI, aligning with our theoretical findings. This paper introduces an automatic amplitude control (AAC) mechanism implemented on a class-C LC-based phase shifter. The AAC technique compensates for the amplitude attenuation of the phase shifter as a function of frequency and provides output swing control that enhances the suitability as a phase shifter in the auxiliary path of a load-modulated balanced power amplifier (LMB-PA). It can be utilized to calibrate and fine-tune the power amplifier (PA) performance after fabrication to achieve optimal performance. The circuit is designed and laid out using 22-nm FD-SOI process technology. To demonstrate the proposed idea, the frequency of operation was chosen as 2.4 GHz. The total power consumption varies between 0.52 - 1 mW due to phase control from $0-120^{\circ}$ with 0.085 dB amplitude error.

This paper introduces a recursive parallel dynamic mode decomposition (RPDMD) scheme tailored for multidimensional harmonic retrieval (MHR), specifically applied to MIMO wireless channel sounding. The RPDMD algorithm is devised to address the complexities inherent in multidimensional scenarios, leveraging the dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) framework within a recursive parallel structure. Initially, the observed tensorial multidimensional harmonic data is transformed into a two-dimensional matrix format along the r-th dimension. Subsequently, DMD dissects this matrix data into eigenvalues and their associated modes. The real and imaginary components of the DMD eigenvalues yield damping factors and frequencies in the r-th dimension, respectively. Furthermore, recursive DMD is employed to scrutinize each mode independently for parameter retrieval across the remaining dimensions, enabling parallel analysis. Ultimately, this high-dimensional correlated decomposition scheme delivers paired damping factors and frequencies for all tones. Notably, the proposed approach can ascertain the number of tones in undamped sinusoidal signals, making it particularly suitable for MHR even without prior knowledge of the source count. Numerical experiments demonstrate the accuracy and robustness of the RPDMD scheme, with comparative analysis indicating that RPDMD outperforms similar methods, achieving optimal results with minimal mean square error in high signal-to-noise ratio scenarios. This work presents an effective data-driven solution for the MHR problem in MIMO wireless channel sounding. © 2014 IEEE.

The research study conducts experimental tests to validate the theoretical mathematical model of hovercraft dynamics. Static and dynamic tests have been conducted to understand vehicle response and cushion dynamics. The study allows us to use experimental data to calibrate the theoretical model to understand the vehicle and fluid physics better.
