Fog computing paradigm extends computing,communication,storage,and network resources to the network’s *** the fog layer is located between cloud and end-users,it can provide more convenience and timely services to ***,in fog computing(FC),attackers can behave as real fog nodes or end-users to provide malicious services in the *** attacker acts as an impersonator to impersonate other legitimate ***,in this work,we present a detection technique to secure the FC ***,we model a physical layer key generation based on wireless channel *** generate the secret keys between the legitimate users and avoid impersonators,we then consider a Double Sarsa technique to identify the impersonators at the receiver *** compare our proposed Double Sarsa technique with the other two methods to validate our work,i.e.,Sarsa and *** simulation results demonstrate that the method based on Double Sarsa outperforms Sarsa and Q-learning approaches in terms of false alarm rate(FAR),miss detection rate(MDR),and average error rate(AER).

Before the world-wide deployment of autonomous vehicles, it is essential to implement intermediate solutions with partial autonomy. One such solution is the use of vehicle teleoperation, the act of controlling a vehicle from a distance. In real time applications of teleoperation, it is often pertinent to use augmented reality components within the teleoperator view, which are referred to as a predictive display. In this work, we evaluate our predictive display method, which is a guiding path based on the free space in the environment. The path is generated based on our Dual Transformer Network (DTNet), which uses both object detection and lane semantic segmentation to define the free space in the environment. While the model has previously performed well on image data, it is necessary to observe its accuracy in the presence of time delay and packet loss, to assess its performance in a real-time setting. Thus, in this work, we use CARLA simulator to compare the detected free space on the teleoperator side to the true free space on the vehicle side across different values of time delay and packet loss. Under optimal network conditions, our model yielded a remarkable 87.9% DSC score and 81.3% IoU score. Defining our minimum performance threshold as 80% DSC and 70% IoU, we conclude that our model can effectively mitigate the challenges of time delay below 100ms and packet loss below 1%, both of which represent substantial tolerances.

During the coal seam drilling process, the drill string is subject to compressive deformation, compounded by unpredictable variations in formation hardness and borehole wall friction, leading to challenges in maintaining a stable feeding speed. This paper presents a novel approach by introducing uncertain parameters to describe the effects of formation hardness and borehole wall friction. Drill string axial movement model is modeled as a polyhedral system based on a lumped parameter representation. To meet industrial performance requirements, we design a robust H∞ controller to achieve consistent feeding speed control. Our simulation results demonstrate the controller’s effectiveness in ensuring system stability despite fluctuations in formation hardness and drill string friction. © 2024 IEEE.

With the developments of the Internet of Things, the demands of low latency, high bandwidth and high-performance computing has increased higher. Therefore, the distributed computing named Fog Computing has proposed to solve the problem above. Fog computing can provide lower transmission latency, faster response time and less network congestion. However, the fog devices are unable to guarantee the security and privacy of data transmission, due to they are vulnerable to attack. Blockchain technology works as a decentralized public ledger to store and share transactions. Blockchain can improve security and protect data privacy of Fog Computing. Moreover, there are still issues in the blockchain-enabled Fog Computing, the two main issues are the energy consumption and computing efficiency. Thus, in this paper, we propose an optimization framework for blockchain-enabled Fog Computing systems to optimize resource allocation. Besides, we adopt the dueling deep reinforcement learning to obtain the optimal resource allocation strategy, with dynamically selecting the fog server, offloading decision, block size. Simulation results show that the proposed framework can reduce the energy consumption and computation overhead of the system, as well as can improve the computing efficiency. © 2022 ACM.

In this paper,we present a novel data-driven design method for the human-robot interaction(HRI)system,where a given task is achieved by cooperation between the human and the *** presented HRI controller design is a two-level control design approach consisting of a task-oriented performance optimization design and a plant-oriented impedance controller *** task-oriented design minimizes the human effort and guarantees the perfect task tracking in the outer-loop,while the plant-oriented achieves the desired impedance from the human to the robot manipulator end-effector in the ***-driven reinforcement learning techniques are used for performance optimization in the outer-loop to assign the optimal impedance *** the inner-loop,a velocity-free filter is designed to avoid the requirement of end-effector velocity *** this basis,an adaptive controller is designed to achieve the desired impedance of the robot manipulator in the task *** simulation and experiment of a robot manipulator are conducted to verify the efficacy of the presented HRI design framework.

This paper addresses the problem of autonomous robot navigation in unknown, obstacle-filled environments with second-order dynamics by proposing a Dissipative Avoidance Feedback (DAF). Compared to the Artificial Potential Field (APF), which primarily uses repulsive forces based on position, DAF employs a dissipative feedback mechanism that accounts for both position and velocity, contributing to smoother and more natural obstacle avoidance. The proposed continuously differentiable controller solves the motion-to-goal problem while guaranteeing collision-free navigation by using the robot’s state and local obstacle distance information. We show that the controller guarantees safe navigation in generic n-dimensional environments and that all undesired ω-limit points are unstable under certain controlled curvature conditions. Designed for real-time implementation, DAF requires only locally measured data from limited-range sensors (e.g., LiDAR, depth cameras), making it particularly effective for robots navigating unknown workspaces. Simulations in 2D and 3D environments are conducted to validate the theoretical results and to showcase the effectiveness of our approach. © 2024, CC BY.

Sensor network localization (SNL) problems require determining the physical coordinates of all sensors in a network. This process relies on the global coordinates of anchors and the available measurements between non-anchor and anchor nodes. Attributed to the intrinsic non-convexity, obtaining a globally optimal solution to SNL is challenging, as well as implementing corresponding algorithms. In this paper, we formulate a non-convex multi-player potential game for a generic SNL problem to investigate the identification condition of the global Nash equilibrium (NE) therein, where the global NE represents the global solution of SNL. We employ canonical duality theory to transform the non-convex game into a complementary dual problem. Then we develop a conjugation-based algorithm to compute the stationary points of the complementary dual problem. On this basis, we show an identification condition of the global NE: the stationary point of the proposed algorithm satisfies a duality relation. Finally, simulation results are provided to validate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Over the past decade, the continuous surge in cloud computing demand has intensified data center workloads, leading to significant carbon emissions and driving the need for improving their efficiency and sustainability. This paper focuses on the optimal allocation problem of batch compute loads with temporal and spatial flexibility across a global network of data centers. We propose a bilevel game-theoretic solution approach that captures the inherent hierarchical relationship between supervisory control objectives, such as carbon reduction and peak shaving, and operational objectives, such as priority-aware scheduling. Numerical simulations with real carbon intensity data demonstrate that the proposed approach success-fully reduces carbon emissions while simultaneously ensuring operational reliability and priority-aware scheduling.

The economic dispatch problem (EDP) is crucial in optimizing and controlling power systems. As modern power system become more complex, traditional centralized communication methods are becoming less reliable. Therefore, distributed optimization method that relie on communication between neighboring nodes without the need for a central node are proposed. Existing distributed optimization methods for economic dispatch problems mainly focus on equality constraints like supply-demand balance, while problems with global inequality constraints are rarely studied. To address this gap, we propose a distributed optimization algorithm based on the primal-dual method and gradient tracking technique that can handle both global equality and inequality constraints. We thoroughly analyze its convergence and successfully apply it to the EDP with emission constraints to demonstrate its effectiveness.

The Android ecosystem is profoundly fragmented due to the frequent updates of the Android system and the prevalent customizations by mobile device manufacturers. Previous research primarily focused on identifying and repairing evolution-induced API compatibility issues, with limited consideration of device-specific compatibillty issues (DSC issues). To fill this gap, we conduct an empirical study of 197 DSC issues collected from 94 open-source repositories on GitHub. We introduce a new perspective for comprehending these issues by categorizing them into two principal groups, Functionality Breaks, and OEM Features, based on their manifestations and root causes. The functionality break issues disrupt standard Android system behaviors, lead to crashes or unexpected behaviors on specific devices, and require developers to implement workarounds to preserve the original functionality. The OEM feature issues involve the introduction of device-specific functionalities or features beyond the basic Android system. The different nature of functionality break issues and OEM feature issues lead to unique challenges in addressing them. For example, our examination of issue fixing practices highlights significant differences in addressing the two categories of DSC issues. Common solutions for functionality break issues involve calling additional APIs, substituting problematic ones, or using specific parameters, while resolving OEM feature issues often relies on Android inter-component communication methods and reflection, with additional unconventional strategies. Such observations highlight the distinctive challenges in addressing DSC issues in Android apps and will facilitate the future development of testing and analysis tools targeting these issues. Our study demonstrates that Functionality break and OEM feature issues have different characteristics, and future research may need to investigate them separately.
