Numerous researches emphasized that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) plays a vital factor in various biological processes, and its mismatched expression and dysfunction are tightly linked with the occurrence of human diseases. Thus, computational models were designed to identify lncRNA-disease interactions by merging heterogeneous biological data. However, most of them neglected the intrinsic structure of multi-source information, which limits the performance for potential lncRNA-disease association prediction. Here, GCN-NIMC is introduced to alleviate the dilemma for disease-associated lncRNA genes identification based on the graph convolutional network with neural inductive matrix. This method builds a feature matrix with multi-source heterogeneous data and then learn the various information contained in the feature matrix for the sake of acquiring better feature expressions of the lncRNA-disease interactions. Experimental results on 10-repeated 5-fold cross-validation demonstrated that our proposed GCN-NIMC is superior to existing cutting-edge methods for identifying disease-related lncRNA genes. Furthermore, case studies confirmed our computational method as a practical tool with clinical benefits to develop the therapeutic schedule at lncRNA-level. © 2023 IEEE.

The use of internet application is rising rapidly where the number of users is increasing day by day creates traffic in the network which led path for the growth of cybercrimes. To avoid the cyber treats various advance technologies have been introduced for the detection of unauthorised users in the network. The existing methods tried to improve the accuracy of cyber threat section model using various algorithms but did not reach the target due to the issues such as imbalanced data, variable constraints and overfitting. The paper proposed Sine-Cosine Zebra Optimization Algorithm with Mixture of Experts-Long Short-Term Memory (SCZOA-MoELSTM) for the detection and classification of cyber treats. The min-max normalization rescaled the ranges of the data. The Sine-Cosine Zebra Optimization Algorithm (SCZOA) was used for the selection of optimal features. Mixture of Experts-Long Short-Term Memory (MoELSTM) captured the long-range values of the features that enhanced the performance of cyber threat detection and classification. The proposed SCZOA-MoELSTM model obtained accuracy of 99.04% and 96.85%, precision of 98.22% and 95.73%, Detection Rate (Recall) of 98.98% and 95.67%, F1-Score of 98.59% and 95.69% respectively for CICIDS2017 and UNSW-NB15 datasets compared to the existing Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM).

controller Area Network (CAN) protocol is an efficient standard enabling communication among Electronic control Units (ECUs). However, the CAN bus is vulnerable to malicious attacks because of a lack of defense features. In this article, a novel vehicle Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is developed. The challenge is that existing techniques of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) rarely consider attacks with small-batch, which are characterized by their small attack scale and concealed attack patterns, posing a significant threat to driving safety. To solve this problem, we developed an algorithm model that merges Multi-dimensional Long Short-Term Memory (MD-LSTM) and Self-Attention Mechanism (SAM), shortly named MULSAM. The MULSAM model was compared with other baseline models, including Stacked LSTM, MD-LSTM, etc. Experiments show that our approach has the best detection accuracy (98.98%) and training stability. Further, to speed up the inference of MULSAM on edge, the hardware accelerator is implemented on FPGA devices using technologies such as parallelization, modular, pipeline, and fixed-point quantization. Experiments show that our FPGA-based acceleration scheme has a better energy efficiency than the CPU platform. Even with a certain degree of quantification, the acceleration model for MULSAM still displays a high detection accuracy of 98.81% and a low latency of 1.88 ms. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

This research introduces a new method, Fractional Order Sliding Mode control (FOSMC), to manage leg exoskele-tons during gait rehabilitation. This innovative algorithm utilizes fractional calculus principles to precisely regulate the joints of the exoskeleton. By integrating fractional order dynamics, the controller effectively handles the complexities and uncertainties inherent in human walking patterns. This leads to more precise tracking, lower energy usage, and increased comfort for patients during rehabilitation. Additionally, the application of Lyapunov theory ensures the stability of the system. The effectiveness of this control method is assessed through simulation examples in the study.

Cancelable biometrics are required in most remote access applications that need an authentication stage such as the cloud and Internet of Things(IoT)*** objective of using cancelable biometrics is to save the original ones from hacking attempts.A generalized algorithm to generate cancelable templates that is applicable on both single and multiple biometrics is proposed in this paper to be considered for cloud and IoT *** original biometric is blurred with two co-prime ***,it can be recovered as the Greatest Common Divisor(GCD)between its two blurred *** changes if induced in the biometric image prior to processing with co-prime operators prevents the recovery of the original biometric image through a GCD ***,the ability to change cancelable templates is guaranteed,since the owner of the biometric can pre-determine and manage the minimal change induced in the biometric ***,we test the utility of the proposed algorithm in the single-and multi-biometric *** multi-biometric scenario depends on compressing face,fingerprint,iris,and palm print images,simultaneously,to generate the cancelable *** metrics such as Equal Error Rate(EER)and Area and Receiver Operator Characteristic curve(AROC)are *** results on single-and multi-biometric scenarios show high AROC values up to 99.59%,and low EER values down to 0.04%.

Performance Analysis of Distributed Filtering under Mismatched Noise Covariances

This paper systematically investigates the performance of consensus-based distributed filtering under mismatched noise covariances. First, we introduce three performance evaluation indices for such filtering problems, namely the standard performance evaluation index, the nominal performance evaluation index, and the estimation error covariance. We derive difference expressions among these indices and establish one-step relations among them under various mismatched noise covariance scenarios. We particularly reveal the effect of the consensus fusion on these relations. Furthermore, the recursive relations are introduced by extending the results of the one-step relations. Subsequently, we demonstrate the convergence of these indices under the collective observability condition, and show this convergence condition of the nominal performance evaluation index can guarantee the convergence of the estimation error covariance. Additionally, we prove that the estimation error covariance of the consensus-based distributed filter under mismatched noise covariances can be bounded by the Frobenius norms of the noise covariance deviations and the trace of the nominal performance evaluation index. This paper models a platooning system consisting of trucks and a third-party service provider (TPSP), which performs platoon coordination, distributes the platooning profit in platoons, and charges trucks in exchange for the services. Government subsidies used to incentivize platooning are also considered. We propose a pricing rule for the TPSP, which keeps part of the platooning profit including the subsidy each time a platoon is formed. In addition, a platoon coordination solution based on the distributed model predictive control (MPC) is proposed, in which the pricing rule under government subsidies is integrated. We perform a realistic simulation over the Swedish road network to evaluate the impact of the pricing rule and subsidies on the achieved profits and fuel savings. Our results show that subsidies are an effective mean to boost fuel savings from platooning. Moreover, the simulation study indicates that high pricing corresponds to a low platooning rate of the system, as trucks' incentives for platooning decrease. © 2023 The Authors. Solar radiation forecasting is developed for electricity utilization in buildings to improve energy efficiency. In this paper, we first compare different machine learning methods for single-step solar radiation prediction, including multilayer perceptron (MLP), long short-term memory (LSTM), gradient boosting regression tree (GBRT), random forest (RF) and Informer. Then, we propose a hybrid model for short-term solar irradiation prediction, which is composed of a random forest model and an Informer model. Simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of our proposed hybrid model for balancing the accuracy-complexity tradeoff.

In this paper, we propose a novel infrastructure-dependent ramp-metering control for the recently proposed METANET with service station (METANET-s) model, i.e., a second-order macroscopic traffic model that, compared to the classical METANET, incorporates the dynamics of service stations on highways. We study the effect of a ramp-metering control scheme on a highway stretch with a service station and show that it is capable of actively regulate internal traffic demand attempting to exit the service station via its on-ramp, on top of contributing to decrease the traffic congestion on the mainstream. In fact, the proposed control scheme effectively prevents the backlog of vehicles attempting to merge back onto the mainstream. This dynamic control mechanism is further endowed by a route guidance control strategy increasing the share of vehicles stopping at the service station during main-stream congestion periods, e.g. via incentives. The combined effect of our control schemes allows to take full advantage of the presence of service stations, reducing the overall traffic congestion. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategies.

Batteries are widely applied in industrial systems, promoting industrial production efficiency. The system prognosis needs to establish a battery health monitoring model and maintain regular maintenance, improving reliability and safety while reducing unnecessary economic losses. An accurate data-driven state-of-health (SOH) estimation method is crucial, as it mainly relies on the information related to battery SOH values in the extracted features. Therefore, we propose a statistical-based feature extraction method, which makes it physically meaningful and effective. To explore more information, we propose a feature analysis framework to analyze battery features, including visualization, correlation, and importance analysis. We utilize a random forest regression model as an effective learner and validate it based on NASA’s real-world dataset. The feature analysis contents are beneficial for understanding the role and importance of features in SOH estimation tasks, which can also provide an extended scenario for feature extraction of batteries.
