Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands as a transformative paradigm in machine learning, enabling the creation of complex and realistic data from latent representations. This review paper comprehensively surveys the landscape of Generative AI, encompassing its foundational concepts, diverse models, training methodologies, applications, challenges, recent advancements, evaluation metrics, and ethical dimensions. The paper begins by introducing Generative AI's significance across various domains, presenting its pivotal role in producing synthetic data with applications spanning image synthesis, text generation, music composition, drug discovery, and more. The objectives lie in elucidating the foundational concepts, delving into model intricacies, unveiling the training procedures, exploring its application landscape, addressing challenges, envisioning future directions, and discussing ethical ramifications. The foundational section elucidates the diverse array of generative models, including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), flow-based models, Generative Reinforcement Learning (GRL), and advanced hybrid architectures. Subsequently, evaluation metrics ranging from Inception Score to perceptual similarity metrics and human evaluations are surveyed to assess generative model performance. Finally, ethical considerations underscore the necessity for addressing biases, misuse, intellectual property concerns, and the call for responsible AI development and regulation in the Generative AI landscape. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, the optimization of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) localization under jamming attacks is studied. In the considered network, a base station (BS) collaborates with an active UAV to localize a target UAV. During this positioning process, a jamming UAV transmits discontinuous signals to passive UAVs to interfere the distance information measurement. To localize the target UAV under jamming attacks, the BS jointly use two localization methods: 1) generative adversarial network (GAN)-based positioning method and 2) time difference of arrival (TDOA)-based positioning method. Since GAN-based positioning method cannot defense in a strong jamming signal while TDOA-based positioning method may consume more energy and sacrifice localization accuracy, the BS must select an appropriate positioning method (GAN-based or TDOA-based methods) and four distance measurement information of passive UAVs to estimate the position of the target UAV. This problem is formulated as an optimization problem whose goal is to minimize the positioning error between the estimated and the ground truth positions of the target UAV while considering jamming attacks and the trajectory of passive UAVs. To solve this problem, we propose a mixture Gaussian distribution model-based collaborative reinforcement learning (RL) method which enables the active UAV to determine its transmit power and trajectory, and enables the BS to select the most appropriate subsets of distance measurement information and the optimal positioning method according to the movement of passive UAVs and the unknown jamming attack pattern of the jamming UAV. Simulation results show the proposed method can reduce the positioning error of the target UAV by up to 36.5% compared to the method that does not consider the GAN-based positioning method. © 2024 IEEE.

Pedestrian detection is a crucial aspect of autonomous vehicle (A V) safety, as it enables accurate identification and tracking of individuals in an A V environment. Effective pedestrian detection supports essential A V functions like braking, steering, and speed control to prevent accidents in urban settings. Traditional computer vision methods, such as Support Vector Machines and Random Forests, rely on pre-designed features like the Histogram of Oriented Gradients. While the existing techniques offer some performance, it face significant challenges in dynamic environments, especially under varying lighting conditions, occlusions, and diverse pedestrian poses. Traditional models also require extensive manual feature engineering and tuning, which limits scalability and adaptability. Recent advances in deep learning, particularly with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), have allowed for automatic feature learning, yielding practical improvements over classical methods. However, CNNs can struggle in low light and when facing adversarial attacks, as they mainly capture spatial features. To address these limitations, this research proposes a new methodology combining CNNs for spatial feature extraction with Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) networks to capture temporal dependencies. This hybrid approach enhances detection capabilities by learning both static and dynamic patterns. Our proposed CNN-BiLSTM model achieves a 92 % detection accuracy and an F1 score of 88.5% across diverse conditions, outperforming existing models by up to 15%. By integrating temporal features, the model reduces missed detections and false positives by up to 20%, providing a more reliable and adaptable solution for pedestrian detection in autonomous vehicles. © 2025 IEEE.

Vishing attacks, or voice phishing attacks, are a type of social engineering attack in which attackers use voice communication channels, such as phone calls, to trick victims into divulging sensitive information or performing actions that compromise their security. Vishing attacks have become increasingly common in recent years and can have severe consequences for individuals, businesses, and organizations. In this review, we examine various prevention and mitigation techniques that can be used to defend against vishing attacks. We start by discussing the common tactics used by attackers and how they exploit vulnerabilities in human behaviour to achieve their goals. We then present an overview of different prevention and mitigation techniques, including education and awareness campaigns, technical solutions such as authentication mechanisms and policy-based approaches. We also evaluate the effectiveness of different techniques, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, and provide guidance on how to implement a comprehensive vishing defence strategy. Finally, we discuss emerging trends and challenges in vishing attacks and defence, such as the use of artificial intelligence and deepfake technology, and suggest directions for future research and development. In recent years, due to the rise in Peer to Peer (P2P) networks has brought a significant way in which the data is shared and services are offered over the internet. These P2P networks make use of decentralized architecture in which nodes directly interact and exchange resources. However, due to the use of decentralized architecture, the P2P networks are exposed to various security threats such as data breaches, and other malicious attacks. In this research, Stacking Ensemble Model (SEM) is proposed for network intrusion detection in P2P networks. Initially, the data is considered from network intrusion detection dataset and then preprocessed with data imputation and min-max normalization effectively handles the missing values and rescales the data into significant range. After that, Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) is incorporated to select optimal features from preprocessed data based on feature importance. Finally, the proposed SEM effectively detects the intrusion in P2P networks which enhances the security. From the results, the proposed SEM model obtained a better outcome in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score compared to the existing K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) by accomplishing 97.20%, 94.71%, 96.62%, and 95.65%, respectively. © 2025 IEEE.

To accurately diagnose and treat sleep problems, which are major challenges to public health, more sophisticated evaluation methods are needed. Using Rapid Eye Movement (REM) craft Navigator's Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities in conjunction with Random Forest algorithms, this research presents a novel method for comprehensive assessments of sleep disorders. The REMcraft Navigator IoT system incorporates a wide range of physiological and environmental factors into its comprehensive real-time data collection on sleep patterns. The research uses Random Forest algorithms' ability to handle complicated, multi-dimensional datasets by using them to examine the gathered data. In detecting and categorizing sleep problems, the algorithm model outperforms the conventional diagnosis techniques. The comprehensive evaluation is provided by taking contextual elements like the surrounding surroundings and the sleep environment. The suggested method has promising use as a powerful tool for sleep problem diagnosis, and results from a large-scale clinical investigation confirm its efficacy. The system can improve assessment accuracy and personalized treatment plans. This paper provides a high-tech and realistic solution for doctors dealing with sleep disorders, which helps move the field forward in its diagnostic capabilities. The suggested system is an excellent option for home-based monitoring and extensive use in sleep clinics due to its scalability and flexibility, improving the treatment of sleep-related health problems in the long term. © 2024 IEEE.

Digital twins are a relatively new concept that have lately garnered interest in the industrial sector. Digital twins are virtual models that mirror actual products. In this research, we suggest using the technology of digital twins to the field of healthcare in order to enhance clinical decision support and to provide more individualized treatment for patients. When artificial intelligence (AI) is combined with digital twins, healthcare professionals are able to more effectively analyze large volumes of varied data and increase their ability to make diagnostic and therapeutic decisions. In this research, we provide a conceptual framework for leveraging digital twins and AI to solve existing limits in cancer care, notably endometrial cancer therapy. This research study mainly focuses on cancer care, and more specifically on endometrial cancer treatment. In addition, we analyze the possible challenges and opportunities that may arise throughout the process of integrating this technology in healthcare settings. Our overarching objective is to improve the standard of treatment as well as the clinical results for people who have cancer. © 2024 IEEE.

Learning behavior in legged robots presents a significant challenge due to its inherent instability and complex constraints. Recent research has proposed the use of a large language model (LLM) to generate reward functions in reinforcement learning, thereby replacing the need for manually designed rewards by experts. However, this approach, which relies on textual descriptions to define learning objectives, fails to achieve controllable and precise behavior learning with clear directionality. In this paper, we introduce a new video2reward method, which directly generates reward functions from videos depicting the behaviors to be mimicked and learned. Specifically, we first process videos containing the target behaviors, converting the motion information of individuals in the videos into keypoint trajectories represented as coordinates through a video2text transforming module. These trajectories are then fed into an LLM to generate the reward function, which in turn is used to train the policy. To enhance the quality of the reward function, we develop a video-assisted iterative reward refinement scheme that visually assesses the learned behaviors and provides textual feedback to the LLM. This feedback guides the LLM to continually refine the reward function, ultimately facilitating more efficient behavior learning. Experimental results on tasks involving bipedal and quadrupedal robot motion control demonstrate that our method surpasses the performance of state-of-the-art LLM-based reward generation methods by over 37.6% in terms of human normalized score. More importantly, by switching video inputs, we find our method can rapidly learn diverse motion behaviors such as walking and running. © 2024 The Authors.

The increasing presence of large-scale distributed systems highlights the need for scalable control strategies where only local communication is required. Moreover, in safety-critical systems, it is imperative that such control strategies handle constraints in the presence of disturbances. In response to this need, in this article, we present the distributed and localized model-predictive control (DLMPC) algorithm for large-scale linear systems. DLMPC is a distributed closed-loop model-predictive control (MPC) scheme, wherein only local state and model information needs to be exchanged between subsystems for the computation and implementation of control actions. We use the system-level synthesis framework to reformulate the centralized MPC problem and show that this allows us to naturally impose localized communication constraints between subcontrollers. The structure of the resulting problem can be exploited to develop an alternating-direction-method-of-multipliers-based algorithm that allows for a distributed and localized computation of closed-loop control policies. We demonstrate that the computational complexity of the subproblems solved by each subsystem in DLMPC is independent of the size of the global system. DLMPC is the first MPC algorithm that allows for the scalable computation and implementation of distributed closed-loop control policies and deals with additive disturbances. In our companion paper, we show that this approach enjoys recursive feasibility and asymptotic stability. © 2014 IEEE.
