In this paper, we study the semi-global stabilization of general linear discrete-time critically unstable systems subject to input saturation and multiple unknown input delays. Based on a simple frequency-domain stability criterion, we find upper bounds for delays that are inversely proportional to the argument of open-loop eigenvalues on the unit circle. For delays satisfying these upper bounds, linear low-gain state and finite dimensional dynamic measurement feedbacks are constructed to solve the semi-global stabilization problems.

Chromosomal aberrations and somatic mutations constitute key elements of the pathogenesis of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), a clonal hematologic malignancy characterized by cytopenias, a dysplastic bone marrow and propensity to clonal evolution. Next generation sequencing (NGS) enables definition of somatic mutational patterns and clonal architecture as a discovery platform, and for clinical *** systematically applied NGS to 707 cases of MDS and MDS-related disorders. 205 cases (low-risk MDS: N=78, high-risk MDS: N=42, MDS/MPN: N=48 and sAML: N=37) were tested by whole exome sequencing (WES). For validation in an additional 502 patients (low-risk MDS: N=192, high-risk MDS: N=104, MDS/MPN: N=111 and sAML: N=95), targeted deep NGS was applied for 60 index genes which were most commonly affected in the cohort analyzed by WES. For NGS data analysis a statistical pipeline was developed to focus on: i) identification of the most relevant somatic mutations, and ii) minimization of false positive results. We studied serial samples from 21 exemplary informative patients. We also compared somatic mutational patterns to those seen in primary AML TCGA cohort (N=201). Given the size of the cohort, there was, for example, a 87% chance of seeing mutations at a frequency of 1% and a 98% of seeing those with a frequency of 2%. While focusing on the most common events, we observed 1117 somatic mutations in 199 genes. The 88 genes mutated mutated in >1% of cases with MDS carried 388 mutations in MDS+sAML (2.5/case), 128 in MDS/MPN (2.7/case) and 398 in pAML (2.0/case). The average number of mutations per case increased during progression (2.2 in lower-risk, 2.8 in higher-risk MDS, 3.4 in sAML). In MDS, the 30 most frequently affected genes were present at least once in 70% of patients. The 30 most frequently mutated genes in MDS/MPN were mutated in 82% of patients. In this paper, a ITO algorithm inspired by ITO stochastic process is proposed for Traveling Salesmen Problems (TSP), so far, many meta-heuristic methods have been successfully applied to TSP, however, as a member of them, ITO needs further demonstration for TSP. So starting from designing the key operators, which include the move operator, wave operator, etc, the method based on ITO for TSP is presented, and moreover, the ITO algorithm performance under different parameter sets and the maintenance of population diversity information are also studied.

The primitive of proxy signatures allows the original signer to delegate proxy signers to sign on messages on behalf of the original signer. It has found numerous applications in distributed computing scenarios where delegation of signing rights is common. Certificate less public key cryptography eliminates the complicated certificates in traditional public key cryptosystems without suffering from the key escrow problem in identity-based public key cryptography. In this paper, we reveal the relationship between the two important primitives of proxy signatures and certificate less signatures and present a generic conversion from the latter to the former. Following the generic transformation, we propose an efficient proxy signature scheme with a recent certificate less signature scheme.

Bi_2Se_3 is considered to be a three dimensional (3D) topological insulator (TI) with a bulk band gap of 0.35 eV and a single Dirac cone on the surface. [1, 2] TIs are an exciting new class of materials with insulating behavior in the bulk but gapless surface states topologically protected by time-reversal symmetry. [1, 3] Device applications exploiting these properties have so far been hampered by the difficulty to electrically tune the Fermi levels of either bulk or thin film samples. We have experimentally demonstrated that single-crystal nanowires of Bi_2Se_3 can be used as the conduction channel in high-performance field effect transistors (FET). The current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of these devices - including sharp turn-on, zero cutoff current, very large On/Off current ratio, and well-saturated output current - are superior to those reported for many semiconductor nanowire transistors. Bi_2Se_3 nanowire-based FETs were fabricated by using a self-alignment process. [4,5] The Bi_2Se_3 nanowires (on the order of 50 nm to 150 nm in width and 10 μm in length - Fig. 1) were grown on thermally oxidized Si substrates in pre-defined locations from patterned Au catalyst. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) (Fig. 1) determined that the Bi_2Se_3 nanowires are well-defined single-crystals in the rhombohedral phase and the growth direction is close to [1120]. Source/drain (S/D) contacts were patterned with 3 nm/100 nm Ti/Pt. To form top-gated FETs, ≈ 30 nm of HfO_2 was deposited by atomic layer deposition followed by the formation of a 100 nm Pd top-gate by lift-off. A completed Bi_2Se_3 nanowire FET is schematically shown in Fig 1 which also contains a TEM image of the cross-section showing the hexagonal nanowire core surrounded by the HfO_2 layer and the Omega-shaped Pd top gate. This paper studies the synchronization problem for homogeneous networks of non-introspective, non-right-invertible, discrete-time agents with unknown uniform constant communication delay. We solve the problem for a set of communication topologies via a decentralized low-gain based synchronization controller if the delay satisfies the proposed upper bound, which in general depends on the identical agent model and some characteristics of the communication topology.

In this paper, we consider synchronization problems for heterogeneous networks of introspective, right-invertible, discrete-time linear agents with uniform constant communication delay. We first design decentralized controllers for solving the output synchronization problem for a set of network topologies under arbitrary bounded delay. We then apply the proposed scheme to solve the formation problem with arbitrarily given formation vectors. Finally, we consider the output regulation problem, where the output of each agent has to track an a prior specified reference trajectory, generated by an exosystem. In this case, we assume that the common root agent has access to its own output relative to the reference trajectory. We then solve the problem for a set of network topologies with delay whose upper bound depends exosystem and some characteristic of network topologies.

This paper studies output synchronization and regulation problem for heterogeneous networks of introspective right-invertible agents with uniform constant communication delay. A decentralized design based on shaping the agent dynamics using their self-knowledge and structural properties is developed. In the output synchronization problem, the proposed controller design tolerates arbitrary bounded communication delay and large network uncertainties. In the output regulation problem, it requires relative output measurement of the exosystem only in one agent. Moreover, the design method can also be applied to formation control problems.

Real time multimedia content transmission on the Internet is essential for the most current applications such as voice over IP, video conference, games and web TV. The most popular Internet transport protocols - TCP and UDP - do not suffice when one needs to transmit data from these applications. As a consequence, IETF has been working in new transport protocols that enhance the quality of these multimedia applications. Among all these protocols, DCCP (RFC 4340) is the most effective for multimedia content transmission on the Internet. However, DCCP is not effective in scenarios with many receivers nodes and one sender node. Therefore, this work proposes the Mult(Uni)cast DCCP, a DCCP variant that enables the multimedia data transmission from one to various nodes and supporting non-reliable traffic congestion control. The MU-DCCP uses either multicast or unicast flows according to the network support and data sharing among receiver nodes. The obtained results show that the usage of the MU-DCCP significantly reduces the data congestion in the network while improving the application scalability in terms of the number of receiver nodes. © 2012 IEEE.
