The added value of the information transmitted in a cybernetic environment has resulted in a sophisticated malicious actions scenario aimed at data exfiltration. In situations with advanced actors, like APTs, such actions use obfuscation techniques of harmful activities as persistence assurance on strategic targets. The MADEX and NERD architectures proposed flow analysis solutions to detect rootkits that hide network traffic;however, it presents some operational cost, either in traffic volume or due to lack of aggregated information. In that regard, this work changes and improves user flow analysis techniques to eliminate impacts on network traffic, with data enrichment on local and remote bases, detection of domains consulted by rootkits and aggregation of information to generate threat intelligence, while maintaining high performance. The results show the possibility of aggregating information to data flows used by rootkits in order to have effective cyber defense actions against cybernetic threats without major impacts on the existing network infrastructure. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Deep Semantic and Attentive Network for Unsupervised Video Summarization

With the rapid growth of video data, video summarization is a promising approach to shorten a lengthy video into a compact version. Although supervised summarization approaches have achieved state-of-the-art performance, they require frame-level annotated labels. Such an annotation process is time-consuming and tedious. In this article, we propose a novel deep summarization framework named Deep Semantic and Attentive Network for Video Summarization (DSAVS) that can select the most semantically representative summary by minimizing the distance between video representation and text representation without any frame-level labels. Another challenge associated with video summarization tasks mainly originates from the difficulty of considering temporal information over a long time. Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) performs well for temporal dependencies modeling but does not work well with long video clips. Therefore, we introduce a self-attention mechanism into our summarization framework to capture the long-range temporal dependencies among the frames. Extensive experiments on two popular benchmark datasets, i.e., SumMe and TVSum, show that our proposed framework outperforms other state-of-the-art unsupervised approaches and even most supervised methods. © 2022 Association for Computing Machinery.

In our study, we explore methods for detecting unwanted content lurking in visual datasets. We provide a theoretical analysis demonstrating that a model capable of successfully partitioning visual data can be obtained using only textual data. Based on the analysis, we propose Hassle-Free Textual Training (HFTT), a streamlined method capable of acquiring detectors for unwanted visual content, using only synthetic textual data in conjunction with pre-trained vision-language models. HFTT features an innovative objective function that significantly reduces the necessity for human involvement in data annotation. Furthermore, HFTT employs a clever textual data synthesis method, effectively emulating the integration of unknown visual data distribution into the training process at no extra cost. The unique characteristics of HFTT extend its utility beyond traditional out-of-distribution detection, making it applicable to tasks that address more abstract concepts. We complement our analyses with experiments in out-of-distribution detection and hateful image detection. The dielectric environment plays a significant role in the performance of transition metal dichalcogenide FETs. In a previous study, a low mobility of monolayer (ML) MoS2 was extracted when located on an ultrathin dielectric [1]. Here, we have performed a comparative study of ML MoS2 on a number of low-κ/high-κ dielectrics and found that the mobility does not depend on the choice of dielectric if an 'air gap' between the MoS2 and the dielectric is accounted for. This implies that remote phonon scattering plays a small or no role for the transport in MoS2. Moreover, we observed that mobility is independent on carrier concentrations and limited by intrinsic phonon scattering for both low-κ/high-κ dielectrics. © 2023 IEEE.

SrSnO3 (SSO) is an ultra-wide bandgap (≈ 4.1 eV) semiconductor that has potential applications in high power electronics and DUV optoelectronics [1]. However, the thermal properties of doped SSO thin films have not been extensively studied. Due to its high bandgap, self-heating can severely limit the device's performance and reliability. This study reports the thermal transport characteristics of SSO based metal-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MESFETs) through 3D finite modelling and compares them with experimental data obtained via Transient Thermoreflectance Imaging (TTI). TTI can be used to obtain surface temperature maps with high spatial (≈ 410 nm) and temporal (≈ 50 ns) resolution [2] , [3]. Therefore, the TTI technique was used to extract the gate and drain metal surface temperature under pulsed biasing (300 μs pulse width with 10% duty cycle), whereas the steady state temperature rise was numerically evaluated using a 3D Finite Element (FE) model in ANSYS Workbench. © 2024 IEEE.

Hydrogen is emerging as a promising alternative to fossil fuels in the transportation *** study evaluated the feasibility of estab-lishing hydrogen refueling stations in five cities in Oman,Duqm,Haima,Sur,Al Buraymi,and Salalah,using Hybrid Optimization of Multiple Electric Renewables(HOMER)*** hybrid energy systems,photovoltaic-wind turbine-battery,photovoltaic-battery,and wind turbine-battery were analyzed for each *** indicated that Duqm offers the lowest net present cost(NPC),levelized cost of energy,and levelized cost of hydrogen,making it the most cost-effective ***,Sensitivity analysis showed that as the life of electrolyzer increases during operation,the initial capital expenditure is distributed over a longer operational period,leading to a reduction in the *** so,renewable energy systems produced no emissions which supports Oman’s mission *** comprehensive analysis confirms the feasibility of establishing a hydrogen refueling station in Duqm,Oman,and highlights advanced optimization techniques’superior capability in designing cost-effective,sustainable energy systems.

Inductors are energy storage devices that serve as key components in power conversion technology. The advent of wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductor devices has led to high frequency operation of power converters at higher voltage and current levels. In the range of 20kHz-1MHz, additional sources of loss in magnetic components interfacing to these WBG semiconductors are introduced due to high-frequency electromagnetic phenomena. Finite element analysis can capture these effects to a high degree of accuracy but require extensive computation time precluding their application in robust optimization and design schemes. There exist several analytical models for winding loss in literature that can evaluate multiple designs with minimal computation cost. In this work, popular models are reviewed, investigated, and expanded on in the context of various toroidal winding geometries. The goal of this work is to analyze well-known winding loss models and demonstrate their accuracies at high frequency (beyond 20kHz) as they pertain to toroidal inductors while maintaining the low computation cost required for integration into optimization and design schemes. © 2023 IEEE.
