Using building data and corresponding weather conditions provided by ASHRAE, a statistical method that carefully measures features and applies both linear regression and gradient boosting machine models to predict and analyse building energy consumption was developed. Comparison of the predicted and actual energy usage indicates our model can predict energy consumption within an acceptable error range. Such statistical model has the potential to be widely used to monitor energy consumption and measure energy savings for various kinds of buildings in the future. If additional data is available, this method will be more widely applicable to other sectors such as industrial facilities.

Large-area multilayer hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) dielectric stacks can be grown on different metallic substrates by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The high temperatures used during the growth produce the polycrystallization of the metallic substrates (leading to different crystallographic orientations at the surface of each grain), which may influence the catalytic activity of the CVD process on different grains, as well as the properties of the h-BN stacks grown on them. In this work we compare the uniformity of multilayer h-BN dielectric stacks grown via CVD on two different metallic substrates: Pt and Cu. Our study reveals that using Pt substrates leads to h-BN thickness fluctuations from one Pt grain to another, while this effect remarkably reduced when the h-BN is grown on Cu substrates. Therefore, the use of Cu substrates seems to be more convenient for h-BN production and integration at the wafer level.

A paradigm shift in health system did intensify the need for research on wearable electronics. There are numerous reasons that could lead to skin ulcers. The most common are lesion due to constant pressure, incontinence control, excessive humidity and postural changes. Over the years, there have been numerous interventions ranging from specific skin treatment, introducing prevention programs as well as to mechanical intervention. On the rise in such clinical rehabilitation program is the use of electrical stimulation (ES) at a therapeutic level, wound care and muscle function restoration. This paper presents a concept development and implementation process of a new pressure ulcer intervention system which can be used for both chairbound and bedridden patients. The concept here is to integrate the use of electrical stimulation, interface pressure mapping and redistribution with antimicrobial protection not only to act as therapeutic but at the same time as a means of prevention of pressure ulcers by improving muscle tone and decreasing atrophy among immobilized subjects.
