In this paper, we consider a collaborative direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation problem in which multiple quasi-collocated subarrays are employed. Our objective is to effectively utilize the full potential offered by the distributed array with minimum communication traffic between the subarrays and the processing center. In the proposed scheme, each subarray computes the self-subarray covariance matrix with the full precision. Each subarray then sends the estimated covariance matrix together with the one-bit version of the raw data to the processing center. The processing center computes the cross-subarray covariance matrices between different subarrays based on the one-bit data, which, together with the self-subarray covariance matrices which are computed and reported by the subarrays, are used to estimate the source DOAs. The combined exploitation of the full-precision self-subarray covariance matrices and the low-precision cross-subarray covariance matrices ensures full degrees of freedom offered by the array with only slight performance loss compared with the case where all covariance matrices are provided with full precision. © 2021 IEEE.

This article presents an experimental stand for the remote control of a D.C. motor used to drive a conveyor belt. This is based on two development boards Arduino Uno and two shields NRF24L01. The D. C. motor is supplied from a D.C. voltage source by means of the H type bridge. The emitter circuit sends the control signal generated through a potentiometer to the receptor circuit by means of radio waves at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The receptor circuit receives the analogue signal emitted by the emitting circuit, transforms it into a PWM (pulse width modulation) signal and uses it for controlling the transistors of the H-bridge. For implementing and validating the remote control system of the D.C. motor two programs have been issued in the programming environment Arduino IDE for the two circuits. emitter and receptor. The remote control system of the D.C. motor has been running in the same way as the direct control of this. The remote control is used in the case of the electric actuation systems made with D.C. motors continuous used in spaces inaccessible to the human operator.

Surface acoustic waves (SAWs) provide a contactless method for measuring wave-vector-dependent conductivity. This technique has been used to discover emergent length scales in the fractional quantum Hall regime of traditional, semiconductor-based heterostructures. SAWs would appear to be an ideal match for van der Waals heterostructures, but the right combination of substrate and experimental geometry to allow access to the quantum transport regime has not yet been found. We demonstrate that SAW resonant cavities fabricated on LiNbO3 substrates can be used to access the quantum Hall regime of high-mobility, hexagonal boron nitride encapsulated, graphene heterostructures. Our work establishes SAW resonant cavities as a viable platform for performing contactless conductivity measurements in the quantum transport regime of van der Waals materials.

The neuro-transfer function (neuro-TF) modeling method has a wide range of applications in the field of electromagnetic (EM) parametric modeling. Matrix Padé via Lanczos (MPVL) technique is executed repeatedly to generate training data. To solve the issue of poles-mismatch, a novel pole-/zero-matching algorithm using EM sensitivities has been proposed. The feasibility of the neuro-TF modeling method is proved by an example of a fourth-order waveguide filter.

In mobile edge computing (MEC), task offloading can significantly reduce task execution latency and energy consumption of end user (EU). However, edge server (ES) resources are limited, necessitating efficient allocation to ensure the sustainable and healthy development for MEC system. In this paper, we propose a dynamic pricing mechanism based near-optimal resource allocation for elastic edge offloading. First, we construct a resource pricing model and accordingly develop the utility functions for both EU and ES, the optimal pricing model parameters are derived by optimizing the utility functions. In the meantime, our theoretical analysis reveals that the EU's utility function reaches a local maximum within the search range, but exhibits barely growth with increased resource allocation beyond this point. To this end, we further propose the Dynamic Inertia and Speed-Constrained particle swarm optimization (DISC-PSO) algorithm, which efficiently identifies the near-optimal resource allocation. Comprehensive simulation results validate the effectiveness of DISC-PSO algorithm, demonstrating that it significantly outperforms existing schemes by reducing the average number of iterations to reach a near-optimal solution by 86.88%, increasing the EU utility function value by 0.13%, and decreasing the variance of results by 96.78%. © 2025 IEEE. Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and Terahertz (THz) communications, which are recognized as 6G promising techniques, have attracted significant attentions. We propose UAV energy minimization schemes for IRS/UAV-based mobile-edge-computing (MEC) and traffic-offloading over broadband THz mobile networks. In the networks, multiple UAVs serving as MEC-servers collect data from multiple ground users (GUs) with the assistance of a set of passive IRSs. First, we formulate a UAV energy minimization problem, which jointly optimizes the IRSs' phase shifts, UAVs' trajectories, and system computation and communication resources. For THz communications, since the composite channel power gains of GUs are complicated functions of UAVs' trajectories and IRSs' phase shifts, the formulated optimization problem is non-convex. Then, using the alternating optimization (AO) technique, we decompose this non-convex optimization problem into three sub-problems which then can be iteratively solved. Finally, we validate and evaluate the proposed schemes by numerical analyses, which show that the energy consumption of UAVs can be reduced by around 40% by using IRSs.

CoCo-Agent: A Comprehensive Cognitive MLLM Agent for Smartphone GUI Automation

Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) have shown remarkable potential as human-like autonomous language agents to interact with real-world environments, especially for graphical user interface (GUI) automation. However, those GUI agents require comprehensive cognition ability including exhaustive perception and reliable action response. We propose a Comprehensive Cognitive LLM Agent, CoCo-Agent, with two novel approaches, comprehensive environment perception (CEP) and conditional action prediction (CAP), to systematically improve the GUI automation performance. First, CEP facilitates the GUI perception through different aspects and granularity, including screenshots and complementary detailed layouts for the visual channel and historical actions for the textual channel. Second, CAP decomposes the action prediction into sub-problems: action type prediction and action target conditioned on the action type. With our technical design, our agent achieves new state-of-the-art performance on AITW and META-GUI benchmarks, showing promising abilities in realistic scenarios. The coupled integral equation-Foldy-Lax multiple scattering method is applied to compute the reflection-free topological one-way edge states induced by wave interactions with the interface between gyromagnetic scatterers and a PEC boundary. The scattered field of gyromagnetic scatterers is represented in terms of the exciting cylindrical wave coefficients and its scattering T matrix. The PEC boundary is also regarded as a scatterer and its scattered field is linked to the excitation fields with a surface integral equation discretized by method of moments. This multiple scattering formulation directly couples the scattered field of PEC wall with gyromagnetic scatterers. This method needs to compute the T matrix of gyromagnetic scatterer only once and significantly reduces the number of unknowns. Field results are compared with results from COMSOL simulations. The comparisons confirm the accuracy of the proposed method and show that it is far more efficient than COMSOL. The proposed approach can be a useful tool for topological wave device analysis and design. © 2022 IEEE.

Effects of pulsation ratio on center temperature and drying characteristics of pineapple slices with pulsed vacuum drying

This research explored the application of pulsed vacuum technology on the drying(PVD)of pineapple *** of drying temperature and pulsed vacuum ratio(PVR)on drying characteristics and pineapple quality(color,rehydration characteristics,microstructure,and texture)were *** expected,increasing the drying temperature resulted in a higher drying rate and effective moisture *** optimal PVR of 5:5 was beneficial in accelerating the drying rate of pineapple slices and the corresponding effective moisture diffusion coefficient(8.9601×10^(-10))was higher than other PVR conditions based on material center *** material temperature increased during the normal pressure period and decreased rapidly when the pressure dropped to the vacuum condition,which indirectly reflected the moisture transfer that occurred during the vacuum holding period,while moisture diffusion happened during the atmospheric pressure holding *** optimal pulsed vacuum drying process(PVR of 5:5)could expand air and water vapor and create a looser structure so as to obtain better rehydration performance(rehydration ratio(RR)was 5.43).High drying temperature led to the decrease of L^(*)value,the increase ofΔE value,and even the formation of surface scorch at 80℃.At the same drying temperature,the color quality depended on the drying time,and the color difference increased with the extension of the drying *** chewiness and hardness of pineapple slices dried by PVD were significantly higher than those of fresh samples,which was conducive to the chewing taste.

Polymers have attracted attention for their use in enabling biodegradable electronics. However, many polymers suitable as substrates either have no adhesion or suffer from weak and unstable adhesion. Addressing this challenge, we report a simple method to achieve tunable adhesion on various surfaces for wide applications. We achieve this by combining poly(vinyl alcohol) (P), dopamine (DA) and citric acid (CA) to produce modified poly(vinyl alcohol) adhesive films. These films are derived from bio-based constituents through an environmentally benign, easily reproducible and scalable fabrication process. They offer strong adhesion to various surfaces, such as stainless steel (138 – 191 kPa) and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) (67 – 93 kPa) and facilitate easy detachment with water. Notably, the modified films showed a better degradation compared to pristine P films under anaerobic conditions. The extent of degradation was characterized both quantitatively and qualitatively. The biokinetic parameters of anaerobic digestion process were estimated using three different kinetic models. It is anticipated that DA and CA molecules penetrate the interplanar distance of P chains as supported by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies, thus, accelerating the degradation process. Additionally, the inclusion of CA enhanced the stability of DA molecules against oxidation, increased the extent of H-bonding and acted as a plasticizer. The addition of DA and CA bestowed the films with self-healing property due to the presence of multiple H-bonds. Tensile experiments revealed that the strength of self-healed samples approached that of pristine samples. The findings of this study hold promise for the development of innovative, biodegradable poly(vinyl alcohol)-based self-healing adhesive films with potential applications across various domains like smart packaging, soft robotics, on-skin electronic tattoos and self-healing electronics. © 2024, The Authors.
