This paper presents an octagonal prism-based wireless charging container with multiple folding coils winding equidistantly around the surface of the container. The optimal coefficient for the equant ratio has been identified to be 1/7 for achieving a more even distribution of magnetic flux compared to the conventional design of the octagonal prism-based wireless charging container. This advancement enables omnidirectional wireless charging for multiple dynamic receivers with minimal power fluctuations.

A shunt-connected solar microinverter can effectively mitigate the high starting current of induction motors and seamlessly redirect the energy source back to the power grid with grid synchronization. However, external disturbances in the power grid can influence the motor starting operation, and it becomes a predominant issue for grid-connected systems to act independently of these scenarios. The frequent grid faults, voltage sags, and swells can negatively affect the durability of the motor. This paper proposes a novel three-phase phase-locked loop (PLL) that can track the grid angle of each phase independently in faulty grid conditions. The existing DQ-PLL is modified with the proposed PLL structure for the microinverter application. This can help the line-connected IM system tackle the unbalanced grid scenario and run the induction motor efficiently with minimal impact from the grid faults.

Smart Cities are considered the intersection of technology and urban development, aiming to create sustainable, efficient, and citizen-centered environments using advanced tools such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and big data analytics. The major components of a smart city are smart buildings, smart transport, smart energy, smart health care, public safety and security, environmental and resource management, and smart technology. These components make the cities smart, transparent, and efficient. Information and communication technology is one of the most vital tools for modifying traditional cities into Smart Cities. Smart Cities are emerging as transformative urban ecosystems that leverage data, technology, and intelligent design to enhance sustainability, efficiency, and the quality of life for residents. Over 1,000 cities worldwide are developing or implementing smart city initiatives, with projected investments exceeding $1.5 trillion by 2025. Studies indicate Smart Cities can achieve up to 30% reductions in energy consumption and 20% improvements in public service efficiency. This paper presents a systematic review of 61 scholarly works, highlighting the benefits, challenges, and the central role of telecommunications in smart urban development. This systematic review dissects the dual nature of Smart Cities regarding their revolutionary capabilities and intrinsic challenges. The study points out important gaps in the literature, especially when it comes to long-term social effects, fair resource allocation, critical gaps in ethical governance, resource distribution policies, and their long-term implications on societal development, and ethical governance, underrepresentation of telecommunications as a central enabler, and propose future research directions to address these gaps.

It has been decades since category theory was applied to databases. In spite of their mathematical elegance, categorical models have traditionally had difficulty representing factual data, such as integers or strings. This paper proposes a categorical dataset for power system computational models, which is used for AC Optimal Power Flows (ACOPF). In addition, categorical databases incorporate factual data using multi-sorted algebraic theories (also known as Lawvere theories) based on the set-valued functor model. In the advanced metering infrastructure of power systems, this approach is capable of handling missing information efficiently. This methodology enables constraints and queries to employ operations on data, such as multiplicative and comparative processes, thereby facilitating the integration between conventional databases and programming languages like Julia and Python’s Pypower. The demonstration illustrates how all elements of the model, including schemas, instances, and functors, can modify the schema in ACOPF instances.

We describe a generalized algorithm for evaluating the steady-state solution of the density matrix equation of motion, for the pump-probe scheme, when two fields oscillating at different frequencies couple the same set of atomic transitions involving an arbitrary number of energy levels, to an arbitrary order of the harmonics of the pump-probe frequency difference. We developed a numerical approach and a symbolic approach for this algorithm. We have verified that both approaches yield the same result for all cases studied, but require different computation time. The results are further validated by comparing them with the analytical solution of a two-level system to first order. We have also used both models to produce results up to the third order in the pump-probe frequency difference, for two-level systems, and up to first order for three- and four-level systems. In addition, we have used this model to determine accurately, the gain profile for a self-pumped Raman laser, for a system involving 16 Zeeman sublevels in the D1 manifold of Rb87 atoms. We have also used this model to determine the behavior of a single-pumped superluminal laser. In many situations involving the applications of multiple laser fields to atoms with many energy levels, one often makes the approximation that each field couples only one transition, because of the difficulty encountered in accounting for the effect of another field coupling the same transition but with a large detuning. The use of the algorithm presented here would eliminate the need for making such approximations, thus improving the accuracy of numerical calculations for such schemes.
