In today's world, interconnected Vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANET) and intelligent transportation systems have become more popular. Although IoV can bring many benefits for the smart cities and provide comforts for the passengers, however, the increasing needs for keeping the QoS and QoE at an acceptable level in time sensitive applications seems crucial and needs to be investigated deeply. Also, allocating the right number of resources to avoid congestions and fill the deficiencies in a distributed manner is a challenging issue. So, with the increase in users, attention must be given to Quality of Service (QoS) and resource allocation. As the vehicle network provides information to provide safety, comfort, and entertainment to drivers and passengers, they are one of the most compelling research topics in intelligent transportation systems. TDMA protocol is used in this study to increase the efficiency of the network and the quality of service it provides. To solve the synchronization problem, the Markov method predicts the size of slots and frames. The scenario field is used in the Markov application section to better predict TDMA gaps on solving the synchronization problem. Accordingly, the higher the quality of service, the lower the latency of the network, and the better the allocation of resources. Optimizing allocation and quality of service is further motivated by reducing collision between packets. In terms of its implementation, this method is divided into two components, the first being the database proposal for constructing the Markov matrix and the second being the simulation on VanetMobisim and implementation of the network in NS2. The proposed method performed better in different scenarios in terms of computational complexity, PDF, latency, and overhead, as shown in the results section. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

Boasting superior flexibility in beam manipulation and a simpler framework than traditional phased arrays,terahertz metasurface-based phased arrays show great promise for 5G-A/6G communication *** with the reflective reconfigurable intelligent surface(reflective RIS),the transmissive RIS(TRIS)offers more feasibility for transceiver multiplexing systems to meet the growing demand for high-performance beam tracking in terahertz communication and radar ***,the terahertz TRIS encounters greater challenges in phase shift,beam efficiency,and complex ***,we propose a sub-terahertz TRIS based on the phase shift via Pancharatnam-Berry(PB)metasurface and self-on-off keying(OOK)modulation via Schottky *** electrically reconfigurable unit cell consists of a column-wise phase resonator and a rectangular *** experimental retrieved equivalent lumped-element circuit model is implemented in joint field-circuit simulations and is validated by experiments.A fabricated prototype demonstrates excellent performance of TRIS with the minimum insertion loss of 2.8 dB for operational states,large bandwidth nearly covering the entire W-band for 1-bit phase shift,deep OOK amplitude modulation of 12 dB,and wide scanning range of±60°with low specular *** further implement an integrated platform combining high-speed beam steering and spatial-light modulation,verifying the point-to-point signal transmissions in different directions using the TRIS *** proposed TRIS with high-performance and cost-effective fabrication makes it a promising solution to terahertz minimalist communication systems,radar,and satellite communication systems.

We present an approach for suggesting possible fixes to an overall I&C nuclear architecture during its design phase. Despite the I&C architecture, in our case, being represented with an ontology, we do not aim to change the properties of an ontology per se. Instead, we focus on the subset of ABox triples that do not contain terminological elements in either subject, predicate, or object parts. Such a subset we call the design artifacts. When the ontology is filled with the design artifacts, the analyst runs the check of non-functional requirements using SPARQL queries. The requirements associated with the queries that returned results do not hold. The goal of the current work is to provide support for the next stage when the analyst has to change the design artifacts so that the queries no longer return results. Our method is based on representing the results of queries as graphs, intersecting them, and finding the minimal changes that prevent the results from being mapped on their (or other) queries. © 2023 IEEE.

AI-powered coding assistant tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, and IntelliCode) have revolutionized the software engineering ecosystem. However, prior work has demonstrated that these tools are vulnerable to poisoning attacks. In a poisoning attack, an attacker intentionally injects maliciously crafted insecure code snippets into training datasets to manipulate these tools. The poisoned tools can suggest insecure code to developers, resulting in vulnerabilities in their products that attackers can exploit. However, it is still little understood whether such poisoning attacks against the tools would be practical in real-world settings and how developers address the poisoning attacks during software development. To understand the real-world impact of poisoning attacks on developers who rely on AI-powered coding assistants, we conducted two user studies: an online survey and an in-lab study. The online survey involved 238 participants, including software developers and computer science students. The survey results revealed widespread adoption of these tools among participants, primarily to enhance coding speed, eliminate repetition, and gain boilerplate code. However, the survey also found that developers may misplace trust in these tools because they overlooked the risk of poisoning attacks. The in-lab study was conducted with 30 professional developers. The developers were asked to complete three programming tasks with a representative type of AI-powered coding assistant tool (e.g., ChatGPT or IntelliCode), running on Visual Studio Code. The in-lab study results showed that developers using a poisoned ChatGPT-like tool were more prone to including insecure code than those using an IntelliCode-like tool or no tool. This demonstrates the strong influence of these tools on the security of generated code. Our study results highlight the need for education and improved coding practices to address new security issues introduced by AI-powered coding assistant tools.

Transformers gained tremendous popularity in computer vision community, and have been successfully applied to such classical tasks as image classification, object detection, and semantic segmentation. One of the most popular architectures is the Shifted Window Vision Transformer (SWIN), which has been extended for the semantic segmentation task. In this work, we consider one of the encoder-decoder architectures, namely, the Swin UNETR, and thoroughly analyze it with respect to performance and efficiency. We also propose several architectural changes and discuss their influence on the results. Our findings are cross-validated using several medical datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

Despite its importance. more than 800 million people still lack access to electricity. Individuals in many rural areas lack access to a consistent supply of energy due to the high cost of grid extension. Off-grid solar systems enable rural residents to connect to the energy 2rid and power their homes' lights. appliances. and other electronic equipment. This document provides a brief overview of a solar power system that can be used to Dower remote homes. Solar panels. a charge controller. batteries. and an inverter make up the system. Sunlight is converted into direct current by solar panels. which is then stored in batteries. The charge controller regulates the charging and discharging cycles of the battery pack in order to keep the cells healthy and long-lasting. The inverter converts the stored DC electricity into the alternating current (AC) power that appliances and other AC loads require. The proposed method is intended to be simple and low-cost. making it an appropriate option for regions with limited resources and low growth. The system can be customized to meet the exact energy needs of the house by adding additional solar panels or batteries. Furthermore. the structure is made up of discrete components. making it easier to assemble and maintain. Off-grid solar power systems are a cost-effective and efficient wav of bringing electricity to areas that are not connected to the power grid. The proposed system describes the design and installation of a solar-powered. direct current (DC) power source for isolated dwellings. The strategy promotes long-term economic growth and raises the living standards of rural families. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper evaluates the efficiency of deep learning strategies for aid allocation in 5G networks. 5G networks have annoying requirements, which include high statistics charge, low latency, reliability, and flexibility. Deep learning is a powerful technical device for optimizing aid allocation in 5G networks, as it can help to expect the modifications in statistics needs and examine the underlying patterns of the residents' visitors. For you to examine the efficiency of deep getting-to-know techniques in 5G networks, the authors conducted simulations in a laboratory-scale testbed with the ability to regulate records site visitors and surroundings. The assessment covers metrics consisting of the normalized throughput, implied squared error, signal-to-noise ratio, and resource utilization. The authors determined that the usage of deep mastering techniques caused improvements in the normalized throughput and the mean squared error. The deep mastering approaches did not impact the signal-to-noise ratio and resource usage. The authors have stated that in 5G networks, resource allocation can be performed very well by using various strategies with deep knowledge, which were identified as powerful enough to apply and fulfil the requirements of resource scheduling for future generation five G networks. © 2024 IEEE.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have garnered significant attention from the research community during the last decade, due to their diverse capabilities and potential applications. One of the most critical functions that drones must execute efficiently is navigation in real-world environments. This paper presents a decentralized approach for enabling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to navigate safely in unknown environments and avoid obstacles. Leveraging the Optimal Reciprocal Collision Avoidance (ORCA) algorithm, implemented in the Robot Operating System (ROS), our method facilitates conflict detection and resolution in 2D environments. Through simulations using ROS, Gazebo, and Iris drones, we validate the effectiveness of our approach in scenarios with initial trajectory conflicts. Our work addresses the pressing need for UAVs to autonomously plan and execute safe flights, laying the groundwork for enhanced UAV capabilities in various real-world applications. The simulation results demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of our approach. © 2024 IEEE.
