Weighted Evolving Networks with Self-organized Communities

In order to describe the self-organization of communities in the evolution of weighted networks, we propose a new evolving model for weighted community-structured networks with the preferential mechanisms functioned in different levels according to community sizes and node strengths, respectively. Theoretical analyses and numerical simulations show that our model captures power-law distributions of community sizes, node strengths, and link weights, with tunable exponents of v ≥ 1, γ 〉 2, and α 〉 2, respectively, sharing large clustering coefficients and scaling clustering spectra, and covering the range from disassortative networks to assortative networks. Finally, we apply our new model to the scientific co-authorship networks with both their weighted and unweighted datasets to verify its effectiveness.

HRPose: Real-Time High-Resolution 6D Pose Estimation Network Using Knowledge Distillation

Real-time six degrees-of-freedom(6D)object pose estimation is essential for many real-world applications, such as robotic grasping and augmented reality. To achieve an accurate object pose estimation from RGB images in real-time, we propose an effective and lightweight model, namely high-resolution 6D pose estimation network(HRPose). We adopt the efficient and small HRNetV2-W18 as a feature extractor to reduce computational burdens while generating accurate 6D poses. With only 33% of the model size and lower computational costs, our HRPose achieves comparable performance compared with state-of-the-art models. Moreover, by transferring knowledge from a large model to our proposed HRPose through output and feature-similarity distillations, the performance of our HRPose is improved in effectiveness and efficiency. Numerical experiments on the widely-used benchmark LINEMOD demonstrate the superiority of our proposed HRPose against state-of-the-art methods.

The broken mirror symmetry in Janus SMoSe and SWSe monolayers induces novel properties for photocatalytic, thermoelectric and photocatalytic devices. Interlayer coupling is critical in van der Waals (vdW) heterostructure for quantum transport and polaritonics. We investigate Janus SMoSe/SWSe vdW heterostructures with three stacking interfaces: S-S, S-Se, and Se-Se. The S-Se SMoSe/SWSe vdW heterostructure with lowest symmetry exhibits ultralow frequencies of in-plane shear (1.94 cm−1) and out-of-plane breathing (4.47 cm−1) modes due to weaker interlayer vdW restoring forces and a significant intrinsic vertical dipole moment. The reduced restoring forces are caused by the critical charge transfer across the vdW interface. Thus, the larger interlayer spacing in the S-Se SMoSe/SWSe heterostructure results in the suppressed vdW interlayer coupling for ultralow phonon frequencies. These findings advance understanding of tuning vdW coupling in polar Janus SMoSe/SWSe heterostructures by stacking engineering, providing theoretical insights for designing tunable nanoelectronic devices. © 2025, The Authors. Multi-Function Integrated RF system (MIRFS) is a crucial part of an aircraft's airborne systems. Unlike disposable equipment such as missiles and torpedoes, MIRFS has to face two different operating environments, ground and air, during a mission cycle. In these two operating environments, the test equipment and data processing methods are different. These differences bring problems with test information not being fully utilized and testability indexes not being accurately calculated. Traditional testability modelling and analysis method cannot deal with the above problems. In this paper, a phase-based testability modelling and analysis method using generalized stochastic Petri net (GSPN) is proposed to fully use test information and determinate accurate testability indexes. Firstly, depending on the operating environment, two phases which are readiness phase and flight combat phase are designed to build separate testability models. Secondly, since static modelling techniques like UML and SysML lack the ability to dynamically evaluate and analyse system, GSPN is used to model the testability of each phase to better describe the MIRFS state and behavior. Then the testability models for each phase are integrated and optimised into the mission cycle GSPN testability model, which contains fully test information. The integration principle involves linking testability models according to the mission cycle sequence, including time synchronization, fault detection synchronization, and maintenance synchronization. Finally, Markov chain is used to solve the mission cycle GSPN model and obtain the precise testability indexes. The testability indexes obtained effectively enhances the testability of the MIRFS. This method can also be used when there are more phases of the mission. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

DINS: A Distributed Scheme for Sensor Fusion over Fading Channels

In this paper, we consider the problem of distributed sensor fusion in relay-assisted sensor networks with time-varying asymmetric communications over fading channels. A Distributed INnovation based Scheme (DINS) is proposed by fusing both the local measurements and the information received from neighboring nodes. We present a hybrid TDMA scheme for efficient implementation of DINS and the design of parameters of DINS to bring the effects of fading under a satisfactory level. With an appropriate design, it is shown that our algorithm is able to produce estimates with desired asymptotic properties of unbiasedness and consistency. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the performance of DINS. © 2017

For distributed generation(DG) network, it is important to estimate the real-time states. The information-centric networking(ICN) is established to take charge of the communication of DG network. However, the assumption of ideal communication between sensors and the estimation center cannot be guaranteed due to the communication constraints of ICN with the increasing DG network. A conventional algorithm, which reduces the communication burden in ICN, is to drop the observation of each smart grid in a random way. However, the accuracy of this algorithm recession decays rapidly with the increasing drop rate. To guarantee an appropriate estimation accuracy when the drop rate increases, this paper introduces the event-trigger strategy into the estimation algorithm. An event-trigger extended kalman filter(ET-EKF) is established in this paper to adapt the nonlinearity of DG system. ET-EKF reduces the communication burden and achieves an appropriate estimation accuracy at the same time. Finally, its feasibility and performance are demonstrated using the standard IEEE 39-bus system with phasor measurement units(PMUs).

An enhanced MES strategy for economic recovery and low-carbon operations: Incorporating time-lag superposition and hydrogen-electricity interdependency in chain accidents

Chain accidents pose a threat to the economic operation of Multi-Energy system (MES). By leveraging the coupling characteristics and time-lag effects of energy sources, losses during chain accidents can be mitigated through coordination among multiple energy systems, thereby offering an economically viable solution. Therefore, in this paper, an enhanced optimization method for MES following chain accidents is proposed. Firstly, a refined thermal-grid inertia model and a gas-grid inertia model are introduced, both of which can help mitigate time-lag effects during accidents in the MES. Secondly, a Z-score statistical measure enhancement strategy is proposed to address unregulated external energy procurement during chain accidents. By considering historical energy prices and their changing trends, this strategy ensures more efficient energy utilization during periods of low prices, thereby facilitating economic recovery under interconnected circumstances. Thirdly, to address the challenging problem of nonlinearity and non-convexity, auxiliary flow variables and piecewise linearization methods are introduced to simplify the solution and improve solving efficiency. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed multi-level optimization method is confirmed through extensive case studies. Compared to the baseline method, the proposed method achieves a 45.9 % improvement in economic performance.

In this paper, the problem of non-negative edge consensus of undirected networked linear time-invariant systems is addressed by associating each edge of the network with a state variable, for which a distributed algorithm is constructed. Sufficient conditions referring only to the number of edges are derived for non-negative edge consensus of the networked systems. Subsequently, the linear programming method and a low-gain feedback technique are introduced to simplify the design of the feedback gain matrix for achieving the non-negative edge consensus. It is found that the low-gain feedback technique has a good effect on the non-negative edge consensus of the networked systems subject to input saturation. Numerical simulations are presented to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

As distributed photovoltaic (PV) penetration in distribution networks (DNs) is increasing, it is essential to assess the PV hosting capacity (PVHC) to ensure the safe operation of DNs. This paper proposes a data-driven distributionally robust joint chance constrained (DRJCC) distribution networks PVHC assessment framework. Firstly, the spatiotemporal attention, projection, supervision, and Transformer architecture-based generative adversarial blocks are introduced to develop an augmented time series generative adversarial network (ATS-GAN), which, by integrating both supervised and unsupervised learning during the joint training process, better captures the spatiotemporal characteristics of PV and load power. Subsequently, leveraging the ATS-GAN, a Wasserstein metrics-based ambiguity set of PV and load power probability distributions is constructed, centered on the distributions induced by the generator neural network. Secondly, the DRJCC PVHC assessment model is proposed. A combination of the Bonferroni inequality and conditional value-at-risk approximation is adopted to transform the multivariate DRJCC model into a tractable conic formulation for efficient computation. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively captures the spatiotemporal characteristics and uncertainties of multivariate distributions under multiple constraints, significantly reducing the conservatism typically associated with distributionally robust individual chance constraints.

This paper present numerical modeling of infinitesimal dipole for the purpose of finding irregularities in real time survey data of marine controlled source electromagnetic survey. Algorithm for numerical solution using staggered grid scheme of finite difference method has been developed by using auxiliary potential functions in Helmholtz equation. Solution is obtained through a) discretized the solution region into number of elements and define boundary condition b) implementing algorithm for resulting system of linear algebraic equations. The results provides detailed understanding of irregularities in survey data caused by improper orientation of source during electromagnetic sounding for exploration of petroleum reserves in deep sea. © 2011 IEEE.
