Selective harmonic elimination technology has been widely used in many medium and high power converters which operating at very low switching frequency, however, it is still a challenging work to solve the switching angles from a group of nonlinear transcendental equations, especially for the multilevel converters. In this paper, an algebraic method is proposed for selective harmonic elimination. First, the order of the SHE equations is reduced by using the symmetric polynomials theory, and then, its Groebner bases is computed. After this two conversions, the solving of multivariable high order SHE equations is converted to solve two univariate equations and a set of univariate linear equations which simplifies the solving procedure dramatically and abandon the requirement on initial values and can find all the solutions. Compared with the existing algebraic method, such as the resultant elimination method, the calculation efficiency is improved. Experimental verification is also shown in this paper.

This paper addresses the robust semi-global coordinated tracking problem of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multi-agent systems with input saturation and communication noise. A distributed observer-based coordinated tracking protocol is constructed by combining a novel parameterized low-and-high feedback technique with the high-gain observers design approach. It is shown that, under the assumptions that each agent is asymptotically null-controllable with bounded controls and the network is connected, semi-global consensus tracking or semi-global swarm tracking can be attained for left-invertible and minimal-phase systems.

This paper studies the formation problem for multislave teleoperation system over general communication networks,where multiple mobile slave agents are coupled with a single master robot. The forward and backward network transmission time delays are assumed to be asymmetric and *** to the quantization in the network, a dynamic quantization strategy is provided to quantize the output signals of the master robot and slave agents before transmitting. Then, a novel masterslave protocol is designed to achieve the formation task under variable time delays and quantization. Additionally, the sufficient conditions for stability are presented to show that the formation protocol can stabilize the master-slave system under variable time delays and quantization. Finally, simulation are performed to show effectiveness of the main results.

In this paper, the accuracy of soft computing technique in solar radiation prediction based on series of measured meteorological data (monthly mean sunshine duration, monthly mean maximum and minimum temperature) taking from Iseyin meteorological station in Nigeria was examined. The process, which simulates the solar radiation with support vector regression (SVR), was constructed. The inputs were monthly mean maximum temperature (Tmax), monthly mean minimum temperature (Tmin) and monthly mean sunshine duration ( $$ \bar{n} $$ ). Polynomial and radial basis functions (RBF) are applied as the SVR kernel function to estimate solar radiation. According to the results, a greater improvement in estimation accuracy can be achieved through the SVR with polynomial basis function compared to RBF. The SVR coefficient of determination R 2 with the polynomial function was 0.7395 and with the radial basis function, the R 2 was 0.5877.

In this paper we consider optimal parameter estimation with a constrained packet transmission rate. Due to the limited battery power and the traffic congestion over a large sensor network, each sensor is required to discard some packets and save transmission times. We propose a packet-driven sensor scheduling policy such that the sensor transmits only the important measurements to the estimator. Unlike the existing deterministic scheduler in [1], our stochastic packet scheduling is novelly designed to maintain the computational simplicity of the resulting maximum-likelihood estimator (MLE). This results in a nice feature that the MLE is still able to be recursively computed in a closed form, and the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) can be explicitly evaluated. Moreover, an optimization problem is formulated and solved to obtain the optimal parameters of the scheduling policy under which the estimation performance is comparable to the standard MLE (with full measurements) even with a moderate transmission rate. Numerical simulations are included to show the effectiveness.
