A method for detecting spikes and slow burst in photic evoked electroencephalogram (EEG) was proposed. The spikes were detected by combining methods of the morphological filter and the similarity coefficient in the time domain. The slow burst was detected by using pole of AR model in the frequency domain. The proposed method was applied for the photic evoked EEG data containing spikes and slow burst, and brought satisfactory coincidence with the results interpreted by a qualified electroencephalographer.

Recently, the use of multi domain simulation is becoming indispensable for discussing system performance of a vehicle. In this paper, the simulation technology applied to CO 2 reduction using regeneration for a conventional 12 V battery system vehicle is discussed. The energy analysis results for Drive Shaft, Brake and Alternator regeneration shows the optimized Alternator performance for the fuel economy.

In this study, the multivariate probability distribution was investigated to develop the expert knowledge-based automatic sleep stage determination technique. The ultimate purpose is to develop adaptive automatic sleep stage determination algorithm for clinical practice. Gaussian distribution was adopted to realize automatic parameter selection while Cauchy distribution was adopted to estimate the parameter distribution. The different usage of multivariate probability distribution of Gaussian and Cauchy distribution presented effectiveness for automatic sleep stage determination.

Firstly, the paper takes National Topographic Database by assuming DEM (digital elevation model) with 1:250,000 scale as a data source, extracts simulated drainage network by using Arc Hydro Tools 9.2. Secondly, a new coding method is presented, which can reflect the topology of drainage network. It becomes easily to locate any reach of drainage network directly and operate the topology of drainage network effectively. Finally, this coding method is applied to Hunhe drainage system of Liaohe basin. The successful application proves that the self-replicating code has excellent expansibility and high efficiency, and can be handled easily by the computer.

This paper is concerned with the robust H ∞ filtering problem for 2-dimensional (2-D) discrete-time linear systems described by a Fornasini-Marchesini second model with convex-bounded parameter uncertainty. By a suitable transformation, the system is converted into an equivalent difference-algebraic representation. A parameter-dependent Lyapunov function approach is then proposed for the design of a 2-D stationary discrete-time linear filter that ensures a prescribed upper-bound on the H ∞ -norm of the transfer function of the estimation error system for all admissible uncertain parameters. The filter design is given in terms of linear matrix inequalities.

Node localization is an important problem for location-dependent applications of wireless sensor networks. Aiming at the positioning problem of wireless sensor networks node location, an improved DV-Hop localization algorithm is proposed in this paper. The proposed method firstly recalculates the hop-size and sends different correction along different directions instead of computing a single correction to be broadcasted into the networks. Then we empirically evaluate the difference between distance estimate and actual distance through a number of simulation experiments statistical results. We find empirical parameter to improve the accuracy of distance estimate. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed scheme outweighs classical DV-Hop algorithms, especially in lower connectivity.

CuInSe2 (CIS) thin films on glass substrates were successfully grown by the metal organic chemical vapour deposition method by using three precursors [Cu-precursor, trimethyl-indium (TMI) and hydrogen selenide (H2Se)]. The flow rates of TMI and H2Se can be adjusted independently to gain different lll/VI ratios, which is different from the single-precursor technique. Good chalcopyrite phase from CIS films was demonstrated by X-ray diffraction. The optical band gap of CIS thin films can be adjusted by controlling the growth conditions.

Locally linear embedding (LLE) is a prevalent manifold learning method in pattern recognition and machine learning. It preserves the intrinsic structure information of data set and has been widely applied to feature extraction and dimensionality reduction. This paper introduces LLE to aircraft pose recognition. The representative motion poses of an aircraft in the air are analyzed. Unfolding results of aircraft images in different poses show LLE has a natural connection to clustering. Moreover, we employ back propagation neural networks and nearest neighbor algorithms to classify the input samples after dimensionality reduction. Computer simulation testifies the efficiency and accuracy of LLE in aircraft pose recognition.

Aiming at the positioning problem of Ad-Hoc networks of sensors node location, a beacon selected localization algorithm (BSLA) is proposed in this paper. The proposed method considers sufficiently both the topology relationship among beacons and the topology relationship between beacon nodes and unknown nodes. We introduce the concept of collinearity and apply it into the localization of the multihop networks. Through selecting best anchor terms by using collinearity parameter, node position estimate can be attained with a weighted estimate mechanism. A well-established data analysis technique- Pauta Criterion is used to filter out the erroneous position estimate to achieve higher localization accuracy. Simulation results show that the performance of BSLA outweighs the traditional DV-Hop and DV-distance algorithms whether in regular networks or in irregular networks (C shape networks).

Ensuring system stability in medium-voltage DC (MVDC) integrated power systems (IPS) is a key issue, due to the presence of many shipboard electric users fed by constant power load (CPL) converters. This paper presents an innovative control system aimed at utilizing alternators, connected to the IPS through controlled AC-DC interface converters, to improve MVDC stable voltage control. Such system is designed to control, for each shipboard generator, the AC machine voltage, the prime mover speed and the interface converter, in an integrated way. Technological aspects and control principle scheme of this system will be presented in the paper, with particular reference to the issue of DC-link voltage stability. This system is expected to bring advantages in terms of MVDC IPS integration, stable parallel operation of generators and loads, safe exploitation of alternators capability as a source of stabilizing power.
