作者: SCHWARTZ, MELVIN A. CORDER, JAMES L. Mr. Meivin A. Schwartzgraduated from Hunter College in 1959 and received his MS degree in Psychology in 1962 from the City College of New York. He has been a Behavioral Scientist in industry and government since 1960 working on command and control systems and simulations for the Strategic Air Command Job Corps Information Management System Permissive Action Link System Helicopter Attack System Riverine Warfare Systems Manpower Simulation Modeling and Facility Maintenance and Manpower Utilization. He has been employed at the Navy Personnel Research and Development Center formerly the Navy Personnel Research Laboratory since 1967 and has presented papers and participated in numerous international and national symposia. At the present time Mr. Schwartz is the principal investigator of the Facilities Maintenance Demonstration Study being conducted at David W. Taylor Naval Ship Research and Development Center. Mr. James L. Cordergraduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1958 and received his MS degree in Engineering Science in 1964 from The George Washington University. He served aboard a Destroyer and instructed in the Engineering Department U. S. Naval Academy until 1964. Since then he has been employed at the David W. Taylor Naval Ship Research and Development Center where he was the Program Manager for the Shipboard Manning and Automation Program until September 1977 and currently is assigned to DTNSRDC Annapolis Md. Mr. Corder who received a Letter of Commendation from the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (R&D) for his work performed while assigned on temporary additional duty at the Navy Research and Development Unit Vietnam in 1968 has been a member of ASNE since February 1965.

During 1976–1977 academic years he taught as assistant professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering University of Iowa. Then Dr. Bien joined Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology summer 1977 and is now Professor of Control Engineering at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science KAIST. Dr. Bien was the president of the Korea Fuzzy Logic and Intelligent Systems Society during 1990–1995 and also the general chair of IFSA World Congress 1993 and for FUZZ-IEEE99 respectively. He is currently co-Editor-in-Chief for International Journal of Fuzzy Systems (IJFS) Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems and a regional editor for the International Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing. He has been serving as Vice President for IFSA since 1997 and is now Chief Chairman of Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea and Director of Humanfriendly Welfare Robot System Research Center. His current research interests include intelligent control methods with emphasis on fuzzy logic systems service robotics and rehabilitation engineering and large-scale industrial control systems. Kwang-Hyun Park:received the B.S. M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from KAIST Korea in 1994 19997 and 2001 respectively. 作者: MARCY, HT The Honorable H. Tyler (“Ty”) Marcy:was born in 1918 in Rochester New York but moved to Baltimore Maryland at an early age where he attended public schools. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from which he received both his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering. Subsequent to receiving the latter degree in 1941 he designed and developed gun control systems in the MIT Servomechanism Laboratory until 1946 when he became Associate Director Special Projects Department M. W. Kellogg Company and worked on rocket engine development missile controls and analog air defense systems. In 1951 Mr. Marcy left Kellogg Company to join the IBM Corporation where he remained until 1972 and was employed in various engineering and managerial positions. At IBM his first assignment concerned the bomb/navigational system for the B-52 aircraft. He then moved into commercial development of data processing machines and peripheral devices subsequently being placed in a series of technical management positions which included Assistant Manager of Product Development Corporate Headquarters New York (1956) Manager Poughkeepsie N.Y. Laboratory (1957) Vice-President General Products Division (1962) Vice-President Systems Development Division (1965) and Director of Technology Corporate Headquarters Armonk N. Y. (1968). His last position was held until 1972 when he left IBM to do private consulting work in engineering management technology and program review. In October 1974 he was appointed by the President to his present office as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research and Development. Mr. Marcy has been a member of the Instrument Society of America since 1963 serving as its President from 1971 until 1974. In 1967 he became a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) for his leadership in feedback control and for his significant contribution to the management of technical enterprise. Sherrill is Manager Intercept and Direction Finding Research in the Department of Applied Electromagnetics at Southwest Research Institute San Antonio. He received his M.S. in Physics from Rice University in 1959 and his bachelor degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Texas in 1957. Since joining the staff of Southwest Research Institute in 1959 he has been engaged in Naval shipboard radio direction finding research concentrating on advanced techniques of direction finding using multichannel receivers fixed antennas and the application of digital logic and computation in DF system control. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE Professional Group on Antennas and Propagation American Astronomical Society and the Scientific Research Society of America. Terry C. Green is a Senior Research Engineer in the Department of Applied Electromagnetics at Southwest Research Institute San Antonio. He took the B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas in 1958 and served as a commissioned officer in the U. S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962. His duties as a USAF officer included experience in military search and tracking radar and electrical support equipment design for high performance fighter aircraft. In 1962 he joined the staff of Southwest Research Institute and has been engaged in high frequency and very high frequency radio direction finding techniques for surface ship and submarine application. He is a member of the IEEE Professional Group on Antennas and Propagation and Sigma Pi Sigma. Douglas N. Travers is Director of the Department of Applied Electromagnetics at Southwest Research Institute San Antonio. He obtained his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1951 and joined the staff of Southwest Research Institute in 1951. Dr. Lin received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the National Taiwan University in 1957. He was awarded his M.S. degree in naval architecture and Ph.D. in engineering science from the University of California at Berkeley in 1963 and 1966 respectively. From 1966 to 1969 he was employed by ESSO Research and Engineering Company to conduct marine hydrodynamic research for oil tankers and offshore structures. Since joining DTNSRDC in 1969 he has actively conducted and directed hydrodynamic research to advance naval ship design technology and improve ship performance. Active in national and international symposia on ship hydrodynamic research he is recognized for contributions to the ship research community. For the past six years he has been a member of the Performance Committee of the ITTC and currently serves as secretary of the committee. He is a member of SNAME and the Society of Naval Architects of Japan. William G. Day Jr:. has been employed as a naval architect at the David Taylor Naval Ship R&D Center since receiving a B.E.S. degree from the Johns Hopkins University in 1966. He obtained an M.S. E. degree from George Washington University in 1971. As Head Design Evaluation Branch of the Ship Performance Department he is responsible for model experiments to evaluate the hydrodynamic performance of ships and propulsors. He is a member of ASNE and SNAME. In-Young Koh:received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Lowell University in 1969 and 1971 respectively and his Ph.D. in applied mechanics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1976. Dr. Koh joined DTNSRDC as an electronic engineer specializing in the application of advanced instrumentation and computer techniques to ship research and design. George Luedeke Jr.: received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his MS degree in Product Design from Illinois Institute of Technology. Early in his career Mr. Luedeke joined General Motors Corporation as a designer responsible for development of people mover and rail rapid transit systems. From 1964 to 1974 he was with Hughes Aircraft Company. At Hughes he performed analyses and developed designs for a wide variety of program and proposal efforts such as: High Speed Ground Transportation (DOT) Task Force Command Center (NAVY) Panama Canal Marine Traffic Control Center (Panama Canal Co.) Royal Iranian Navy Command Center (Iran) Tactical Information Processing and Interpretation Center (Air Force) and WALLEYE CONDOR and PHOENIX Missile Systems (NAVY). He also had marketing development responsibilities related to the diversification of Hughes resources in civil business areas such as: Automatic train control (WMATA BARTD SCRTD) water/sewage treatment plant automation (Santa Clara County) Aqueduct Control (SWR) Hydrometeorological data collection (BPA WMO) and Salton Sea basin systems analysis (Dept. of the Interior). He was responsible for combat system integration for the Hughes 2000T Surface Effect Ship (SES) proposal. He also conducted detailed studies concerning ship flexure for the Improved Point Defense Target Acquisition System Program and for the definition of operational High Energy Laser weapon installations on a series of conventional monohulls (DLG DD and CVN). Since 1974 Mr. Luedeke has been employed at RMI Inc. (formerly Rohr Marine Inc.). During this time he has held several positions.
