In the operation process of the power plant, in addition to the operating state information of the power plant process systems and components is monitored by Industrial control systems (ICSs), a large number of the operating state information of ICSs and its components themselves can be obtained. These information helps operators to understand the operation safety state of ICSs themselves, and whether ICSs operate reliably, which plays an important role in maintaining the normal operation of the power plant, controlling abnormal events and mitigating the development of accidents. This paper proposes an integrated methodological framework for real-time risk awareness and prediction of ICS based on the particle filtering model whose features are updating monitoring data and predicting the state transition process, and focus on the measurement of risk states, identification of critical risk states and key components, modeling of the state transition process, prediction of risk levels and estimation of remaining arrival time of high-risk residual. The assumption that the transition probability matrix of system states does not change over time in traditional Markov predictions is discarded in this proposed method. Compared with the traditional ICS safety analysis method, this method can provide global and systemic risk insights for ICS risk situation, with a better real-time performance, and it is a kind of more scientific and objective measurement for ICS risk situation.

Innovation-triggered Learning with Application to Data-driven Predictive control

Data-driven control has attracted lots of attention in recent years, especially for plants that are difficult to model based on first principles. In particular, a key issue in data-driven approaches is how to make efficient use of data as the abundance of data becomes overwhelming. To address this issue, this work proposes an innovation-triggered learning framework and a corresponding data-driven controller design approach with guaranteed stability. Specifically, we consider a linear time-invariant system with unknown dynamics. A set-membership approach is introduced to learn a parametric uncertainty set for the unknown dynamics. Then, a data selection mechanism is proposed by online evaluating the innovation contained in the sampled data, wherein the innovation is quantified by its effect of shrinking the parametric uncertainty set. Next, after introducing a stability criterion using the set-membership estimate of the system dynamics, a robust data-driven predictive controller is designed by minimizing a worst-case cost function. The closed-loop stability of the data-driven predictive controller equipped with the innovation-triggered learning protocol is discussed within a high probability framework. Finally, comparative numerical experiments are performed to verify the validity of the proposed approach, and the characteristics and the design principle of the learning hyper-parameter are also discussed. Depth estimation is one of the most important tasks in scene understanding. In the existing joint self-supervised learning approaches of depth-pose estimation, depth estimation and pose estimation networks are independent of each other. They only use the adjacent image frames for pose estimation and lack the use of the estimated geometric information. To enhance the depth-pose association, we propose a monocular multi-frame unsupervised depth estimation framework, named PLPE-Depth. There are a depth estimation network and two pose estimation networks with image input and pseudo-LiDAR input. The main idea of our approach is to use the pseudo-LiDAR reconstructed from the depth map to estimate the pose of adjacent frames. We propose depth re-estimation with a better pose between the image pose and the pseudo-LiDAR pose to improve the accuracy of estimation. Besides, we improve the reconstruction loss and design a pseudo-LiDAR pose enhancement loss to facilitate the joint learning. Our approach enhances the use of the estimated depth information and strengthens the coupling between depth estimation and pose estimation. Experiments on the KITTI dataset show that our depth estimation achieves state-of-the-art performance at low resolution. Our source codes will be released on https://***/IRMVLabIPLPE-Depth.

Autoregressive GNN-ODE GRU Model for Network Dynamics

Revealing the continuous dynamics on the networks is essential for understanding, predicting, and even controlling complex systems, but it is hard to learn and model the continuous network dynamics because of complex and unknown governing equations, high dimensions of complex systems, and unsatisfactory observations. Moreover, in real cases, observed time-series data are usually non-uniform and sparse, which also causes serious challenges. In this paper, we propose an Autoregressive GNN-ODE GRU Model (AGOG) to learn and capture the continuous network dynamics and realize predictions of node states at an arbitrary time in a data-driven manner. The GNN module is used to model complicated and nonlinear network dynamics. The hidden state of node states is specified by the ODE system, and the augmented ODE system is utilized to map the GNN into the continuous time domain. The hidden state is updated through GRUCell by observations. As prior knowledge, the true observations at the same timestamp are combined with the hidden states for the next prediction. We use the autoregressive model to make a one-step ahead prediction based on observation history. The prediction is achieved by solving an initial-value problem for ODE. To verify the performance of our model, we visualize the learned dynamics and test them in three tasks: interpolation reconstruction, extrapolation prediction, and regular sequences prediction. The results demonstrate that our model can capture the continuous dynamic process of complex systems accurately and make precise predictions of node states with minimal error. Geometric Constellation Shaping for Wireless Optical Intensity Channels: An Information-Theoretic Approach

A simple geometric shaping method is proposed for optical wireless communication systems based on intensity modulation and direct detection (IM/DD) from an information-theoretic perspective. Constellations consisting of equiprobable levels with exponential-like distribution are obtained, which possesses asymptotic optimality in the sense that the high-SNR capacity of average-intensity constrained optical intensity channel can be approached by such constellations with increasing size. All 2b levels (b ∈ N) of the obtained constellation can be represented by a basic level and b + 2 bits, thereby reducing the required resolution of the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) without affecting the asymptotic optimality. Achievable information rate evaluations verify the asymptotic optimality. As an example, error performance results of a simple 16-level LDPC coded modulation scheme show that a shaping gain of 0.65 dB can be obtained by applying the proposed constellation design. This method can also be applied to more specific IM/DD channel models, since it only requires a near-optimal continuous input distribution. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

Silicone rubber (SIR) has been widely used in the insulation of cable accessories due to its excellent performance. In this paper, pure SIR and nano Al2O3/SIR composites are thermally aged for 0-80 days at 200°C. The effects of long-term thermal aging on the space charge transport are analyzed. The results show that with the increase of thermal aging time, the accumulation of heteropolar charge of pure SIR and nano Al2O3/SIR composites gradually decreases and changes to the accumulation of homopolar charge. Compared with pure SIR, the space charge accumulation of Al2O3/SIR composites decreases significantly and changes little with the increase of thermal aging time. It is believed that when doped nano Al2O3 in SIR, the increase of carrier mobility and the introduction of metal oxides reacting with fallen free radicals to form stable compounds both lead to less space charge accumulation of Al2O3/SIR composites. © 2022 IEEE.

The rise of prosumers and the success of the sharing economy have catalyzed the development of energy sharing market (ESM), which is set to coexist with the conventional distribution energy market (DEM). However, the behaviors of prosumers within this evolving landscape remain underexplored due to the complex interactions among prosumers, ESM, and DEM. This paper presents a novel equilibrium-driven evolutionary game (EDEG) model that allows prosumers with bounded rationality to trade energy and choose participation in DEM, ESM, or both. Unlike previous studies, prosumers’ profits in this model are determined by the market-clearing equilibria, which in turn influence their market selection. The prosumers’ bidding strategies make the market clearing a hard-solving generalized Nash game (GNG). To overcome this, we convert the GNG into an equivalent, more tractable optimization problem, and then incorporate the generalized Nash equilibrium (GNE) into the EDEG model. Building on this foundation, we derive a solution algorithm and establish sufficient convergence conditions for the model. Additionally, by analyzing the equilibria, the EDEG model sheds light on the prosumers’ market selection preferences, cross-market strategic behaviors, sharp price jumping in ESM, and the conditions necessary for the stable coexistence of ESM and DEM. Furthermore, an improved pricing scheme for DEM is proposed to mitigate cross-market arbitrage behaviors and alleviate market price volatility. Finally, the simulations of six prosumer groups over 10,000 days (approximately 27.4 years) validate the theoretical findings and show the effectiveness of the improved scheme in suppressing cross-market arbitrage and stabilizing the electricity price for ESM. © 2025

In this research, the Human Following Robot (HFR) prototype has been designed and implemented using YOLO v3-Tiny and Tensor Flow Lite on Raspberry Pi hardware named Rewang. The HFR Rewang is designed to assist aircraft technicians by bringing maintenance tool kits to aircraft shelters. Rewang's movement is based on a camera as a vision sensor following the movement of human entities. Image input is processed by YOLO v3-Tiny through the determination of the bounding box, the calculation of Euclidean Distance, and the determination of the pixel value of the camera as the basis of Rewang's movement which is regulated by an L298N driver motor that controls two Direct Current (DC) motors for the left and right wheels. The test results show that Rewang can move at an average speed of 0.18 m/s at 2 m with a travel time of 11 seconds with a light intensity of more than 250 lux. The minimum and maximum distance of object detection is as far as 120 cm and 400 cm, with an object detection accuracy of 95.8%. Rewang allows the HFR to have a larger carrying capacity to bring more complete aircraft maintenance tools and is prospective for other aerospace and general applications.

Enhancing the electrical performance of silicone rubber (SiR) for cable accessories is noteworthy as they are almost the weakest parts of the cable system. Two types of voltage stabilizers were grafted onto the surface of nano-zirconia (ZrO 2 ) particles, and the grafted nanoparticles were added to the SiR. Measurements such as breakdown strength, and conductivity were carried out to evaluate the electrical performance of SiR nanocomposites. The electrical performance measurement results indicated that the breakdown strength of the nanocomposite SiR improved while the conductance current was reduced. The trap distribution showed that the improvement of the electrical performance of the nanocomposite SiR is mainly due to the decrease of the shallow trap density or the increase of the deep trap density.

The heterogeneous system consisting of the wireless control system (WCS) and mobile agent system (MAS) is ubiquitous in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems. Within this system, the positions of mobile agents may lead to shadow fading on the wireless channel that the WCS is controlled over and can significantly compromise the WCS’s performance. This paper focuses on the controller design for the MAS to ensure the performance of WCS in the presence of WCS and MAS coupling. Firstly, the constrained finite field network (FFN) with profile-dependent switching topology is adopted to proceed the operational control for the MAS. By virtue of the algebraic state space representation (ASSR) method, an equivalent form is obtained for the WCS and MAS coupling. A necessary and sufficient condition in terms of constrained set stabilization is then established to ensure the Lyapunov-like performance with expected decay rate. Finally, a graphical method together with the breath-first searching is provided to design state feedback controllers for the MAS. With this method, it is easy to check the constrained set stabilization of MAS and to ensure the performance requirements of WCS in the presence of WCS and MAS coupling. The study of an illustrative example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.
